So I created somewhat of a rough draft for that spinoff RP of MR I was talking about, and I'm going to post it here, but I feel as though there are people here who could do the first to sections better than I could. I came to ask for help. I also created some things as I went to offer a larger variety of thingsfor people to work with, since I (obviously) didn't want to steal anything from any of you.
Myriad Reality
Many of you may be familiar with the name. If you spend even just a little bit of time on the home page of this site, you may have seen the name in the Free Section's most recent post section. Myriad Reality is traditionally an open world sandbox RP that takes place in Existence, or simply the multiverse. It is also traditionally a speed posting RP that focuses more on interaction between characters than detail.
But why share all that with you? Well, I'm just giving you an origin story. My interest is to begin a spinoff RP here in Casual, with brand new members, characters, stories and settings. As such, we will be dropping our traditional format and adopting a third person narrative format.
Myriad Reality is designed to be very complex. Here, despite the presence of a GM, everyone is allowed to create and run their own arcs, and they can do it simultaneously to another person's arc. That is part of the freedom this RP allows. The only rules are your basic "no Godmodding, yadda yadda" and no breaking off from what is accepted as laws of physics in this RP.
So, in short, create whatever kind of character you want. Magical pixie, modern jarhead, sci-fi detective, canon character from a fictional work- you name it! Be who you want to be, and don't be afraid to create as many characters as you want!
Nothing too excruciating here. I expect to see some OP characters, but I'll let you know if you cross a line or if any abilities you chose are off limits and try to help you out
Name: Age: Appearance: (Picture preferred) Backstory: (How did they get their powers and how did they get where they are now?) Powers & Abilities: Skills (what is he/she good at aside from what their superhuman abilities grant?): Weapons (Describe any weapons they have here. Naming the weapon is optional) Misc:
Interuniversal Alliance: A massive imperial republic that spans across many universes. Has the largest known standing military and is home to many beings of power and uncovered secrets.
The Big X (Unjoinable; will only appear in cameos): A group of superbeings who help solve problems in the IA, both within and without its boundaries. They wield mysterious and powerful blades known very simply as the Twelve Ancient Swords. Previously based in Waternuax City, but with the public turned against them, their whereabouts are presently unknown.
The Misfits: Band of criminals who are notorious for robberies and vandalism. They specialize in not getting caught, and always welcome one with superhuman talents who is willing to get their hands dirty.
Planetary Law Reserve: Vigilante force independent of the IA's government. Vigilantism is not against the law in itself in the IA, so they assert themselves mainly wherever groups like the Misfits turn up.
NOTE: Feel free to propose factions. They are not limited to the ones I have listed.
Phiaxes- Capital world of the IA
Waternaux City- An artificial structure created by Sven Waternaux. A city the size of a galaxy that was built with nearly limitless resources. It features both urban and rural areas, but considers itself one entity and therefore adopted the humble identity of "city".
Tzarian Earth- Barren and lifeless, but still within IA space. Homeworld of the human race that birthed the IA, and a grim reminder of the power that lies outside their boundaries.
Accadia- Major trade center, terraformed world. Extremely populated urban planet. The Misfits are based here
Vyx Nilpha- Home to the Vyx, a secluded yet very intelligent race of powerful humanoid beings.
The Fringe- The name given to space recently occupied by the IA or just outside said space. Ever-growing and unpredictable, most of The Fringe can be considered chaotic anarchy, but rule is usually established quickly and the Fringe is continuously pushed outwards.
They actually were messed up to begin with, but I don't think you saw them in time. :P

But why make it an MR spinoff instead of something new altogether?
It basically is, but with a few familiar elements that will probably make it easier for people to get into the groove. Plus, if this ends up turning people to this thread, then they'll already have some level of familiarity with some things.

But it won't; it will attract people who are interested in third person, descriptive roleplaying. The elements won't be familiar to anyone but you, either.

It will attract people who want the norm, yes, but that's the bait on the hook, if you will. If the people who join come to love the world of MR itself to the point that they want more of it, then I'd say it'll be much easier then to get people to join us and stay.

But they won't need more. You'd have to shut it down halfway through and say "Want more? Join the original" just like a game demo. Otherwise, they'll stay on that one.
