[Roughly translated as, "Righteousness before Survival", the words of House Osgar precede the existence of the Kingdom of Aaldorenfeald itself, having been the words of the Lord of House Osgar generations before the beginning of the wars that saw to Aaldorenfeald's creation. Despite this, the message delivered by the words very much expresses itself in the Aaldoren people—they are obsessed with the righting of wrongs, and put the display of good behaviour in importance over top of selfish clinging to survival. To the Aaldoren, it is better to be a righteous corpse than a living fiend.]

Since the fall of Aaaldorenfeald to the first Overlord, the unique fighting units and styles used by the Aaaldoren have gradually withered away, being replaced by the more typical outfits used by most other lords in Lundland. Grindan Osgar, however, determined to revive much of the Aaldoren traditions of old, has reformed House Ogar's war stockpile to use many of the same warrior outfits used by his ancestors, before the rise of Lundland. The names of the units derive from the old Aaldoren tongue, a twisted precursor of the language spoken throughout modern Lundland. Their composition draws some heritage from the Giant armies, but with a particular emphasis on cavalry and ranged units.

House History: The history of House Osgar and the nation of Aaldorenfeald is an old one, many generations older than Lundland. The House's origin is unique among the lords of Lundland; the Osgars are the direct paternal descendants of a former Giant Chieftain, the Chief of the 'Osgar' Giant clan, from which their House name originates. The clan ruled over a large swath of territory far to the east of modern day Aaldorenfeald, but their homeland was a harsh and destitute place, even compared to the lands owned by other clans. The westward migration of the clan began after an especially harsh winter, when the Osgars found their traditional raid destination to have become just as barren as their homeland. The chieftain at this time, who would become the Osgar's last feral leader, led his people on a long journey westward, abandoning the place of their birth to make a new life for themselves in what would eventually become Aaldorenfeald. The Giants, respecting their Chieftain's decision not to continue their violent traditions on their new neighbours, but still capable fighters, took to aiding in the defence of the predecessors of the Aaldoren people against their former rival clans to the east. The Giants eventually came to use the language of the lands on which they settled, adding some of the vocabulary of their eastern origins to their newly adopted tongue, and in time even intermarrying with the natives of the land. It was the arrival of the Giants as settlers that fast-tracked the cultural departure of the Aaldoren from the other, more similar peoples of the territory that would become Lundland.
Besides their cultural contributions and offers of protection, the Giants would also come to introduce Aaldorenfeald's system of political organization. Being that it was no longer culturally suitable for the position of chieftain to be a champion's title, constantly fought over, the first born son of the Osgar Chieftain that had led his people into Aaldorenfeald assumed power in a coup, supported by the native Aaldoren, upon his father's demise. His ascension to power began a trend throughout the lands of the Aaldoren, whereby the sons of the rulers who had earned their ownership of land by sheer might would assume power and formally alter their land's succession laws to become entirely hereditary. While the House of Osgar was the first to begin this practice, and it was with their military might that they assisted the sons of the lords of the Aaldoren in making hereditary succession a unified practice, it is important to note that the Osgars were not, at this time, the rulers of Aaldorenfeald. House Osgar commanded over only a single stretch of land, Hebban, with most of the settled Giants having dispersed throughout Aaldorenfeald rather than settled exclusively in the lands of their former chieftain. While House Osgar exerted considerable influence over the rest of the new Aaldoren lords, they were not yet technically the land's formal rulers.
The history of Aalodrenfeald as a politically unified nation-state begins with the nation's first King, the man who melted down the numerous petty Aaldoren lordships into one united kingdom. This founder of the Aaldoren nation was the legendary figure Rytael Osgar, the namesake of the keep in which the King of the Aaldoren resides to this day. Rytael was a just ruler and an honourable and peace loving man, but he had a reputation for crassness, and mercilessness in his dealings with his enemies. He was a man obsessed with justice and extremely ferocious in its pursuit, known to punish the wicked in cruel and terrifying ways to instil a rigid sense of dedication to the law in the Aaldoren people. The most famous of Rytael's exploits surrounds the result of his final military excursion during the Wars of Unification, when the Aaldoren lords aligned with House Osgar united together against the lords favouring the continued independence of the petty lordships. Stories tell that when the last of the petty Aaldoren lords that had refused to submit to Rytael was defeated by him in battle, Rytael had the lord, his household, and his army all executed to the last man. Once slain, their bodies were thrown into a massive, heaping pile of dead flesh, and set ablaze. On the heap of their ashes Rytael began construction of a mighty fortress, named after himself, which was meant to become the unified Kingdom of Aaldorenfeald's capital. It is on the steps of this fortress that Rytael announced the formation of the unified Kingdom of Aaldorenfeald, crowning himself as King of the Aaldoren, which each of the petty Aaldoren lords that had fought with him in the Wars of Unification becoming his vassals. The fortress of Rytael became the new seat of House Osgar, rendering their former seat, Hebban, as a mere secondary possession of the throne. Hebban has from then on been traditionally passed down to the successor of the current Aaldoren king, to serve as the Heir's seat until such a time as he assumes the throne and relocates to Rytael.
Having enjoyed many generations of unified statehood, Aaldorenfeald fought fervently against Lundland in the decades of wars that introduced the empire's existence. Lundland was seen as an enemy to the existence of the Aaldoren nation, and as such, House Osgar made themselves vocal and violent opponents of the first Overlord's rise. However, Aaldoren contempt towards other independent non-Aaldoren lords made them a difficult ally to coordinate with, and ultimately left House Osgar isolated. Eventually, towards the last years of the fighting, with an overwhelmingly large army at its doorstep, Aaldorenfeald was forced to yield.
Since the incorporation of Aaldorenfeald into Lundland, House Osgar has for the most part only spoken or acted against the interests of the Overlord when such actions were capable of being made without backlash. The Osgars are far from being reliably underhanded; rather than constant hostility, the Lords of House Trisch have generally come to expect quiet obedience from Aaldorenfeald. The other lords of Lundland are not so eager to label the Houses of the land as loyal, though, and to the common people is it known that the Aaldoren are far from the most loyal vassals of House Trisch. House Osgar's rebelliousness is always kept tempered by their caution, allowing them to deal truly decisive blows when they have the opportunity, and quietly subsist when tensions are high, and their actions are being watched.
Vassals[ The crest of House Gallad; a knight in plate armour, with a red-plumed helmet, bestride a white horse wearing gold barding, over a field of gray. It is meant to symbolize the family's beginning as mercenaries. Their motto is 'We Fight For Ours.' ]
Lord Damien Gallad is the lord of Newmarch, Fort Frolic, Faircastle, and Woodmarch. He is age 25, tall of height and average of weight, tanned of complexion, sandy-brown of hair, and light brown of eye. He was married to the daughter of a knight, who bore him a daughter [ Mary, age 5 ], but she passed away from an illness, and he is now seeking a new wife. He was born a low orphan, and thus doesn't know his siblings, if he had any.
House Gallad is a very new House, having been granted its land in the east not 5 years piror to Overlord Balthazar's death. They were a mercenary company who had been defending the area against Giants. This was not a surprising move, since the mercenaries had all but held the area for themselves, and had developed it from an unpopulated march, to a civilized land. Balthazar had merely ensured their continued loyalty for no additonal payment.
However, not 3 years ago did its head, Lord Giric, die during a hunting accident. The man had no children, but he did have an adoptive son, a man named Damien, who two decades earlier, Giric had rescued from a burning building. Damien thus inherited the land at Lord Giric's death, making House Gallad as old as its only legitimate heir.
Upon Giric's death, Lord Balthazar bestowed House Osgar the vassalage of House Gallad. This was not based on the House's close proximity to Aaldoreanfeald, but moreso to Balthazar knowing that Damien would not likely take kindly to his new liege, thus creating tension between both Houses.
But Balthazar was wrong; Lord Damien has turned out to be an incredibly loyal vassal, to the point of open mockery by the Bernaccians and Wyots. Though he is indeed a reckless, selfish, and thuggish man, his admiration to Grindan Osgar and his House seems to be genuine, though it's not certain where such feelings come from.

[ The crest of House Wyot, two black hounds in fess, with golden eyes and tongues, over a crimson background. It is meant to symbolize its founders two adored pet hounds. Their motto is 'Merciless.' ]
Lord Ryan Wyot is the lord of The Bastion, Northpost, Southpost, Bloodrocks, Craghills, Dropcliffs, and The Taiga. He is age 43, average of height, heavy weight, light of complexion, balding of blond hair, and blue of eye. He is married to Lady Lona, age 36, born a servant at Bolgaz. He has one son [ Tunor, age 20 ], and one daughter [ Eva, age 16 ]. He has one brother [ Gordon, age 41 ], who lost his wife a decade ago, and who left him only one son.
Like the Gallads, the Wyots were granted their land by Overlord Balthazar, to protect the east against Giants. This was ten years ago, but since then, the situation has calmed. He used to drill himself and his men constantly, but numerous victories have made him overconfident, and sloppy, as he grows fat and happy in his keep, content to live out the later years of life in comfort, alongside his loving wife and old hounds, who he trusts more than any of his servants.
As Ryan was always more of martial man, he leaves the administration of his lands to his brother, Gordon, as he did when they were but mercenaries. Gordon doesn't bare any ill will to his older brother: he believes they work best together, balancing each other's sanguine and phlegmatic personalities. Gordon occasionally comes off as a browbeaten bookeeper, but is by no means a coward, or uncharming, and indeed is quite an accomplished diplomat.
Ryan's son, Tunor, is much like the lord in his youth: bold and brash, but lazy and feckless, interested in little but beer, brawling, and breasts. Ryan is quite proud of the boy, despite him being unskilled in tourneys and rulership. Gordon doesn't see this as a problem either, and hopes to groom his own son to take the place of House administrator.
The Wyots are quite the happy family. Or they would be, were not for Eva.
Since Eva was very young, she had a violent temper. She screamed constantly, destroyed furnishing and decoration, and ran about with limitless energy. When she was just six years old, she took a fascination with weaponry and combat. At first, it seemed like she would be an excellent tourney-runner, but whenever she trained, she wailed and laughed at the rules and codes of honour of such formal combat, always doing whatever it took to gain the upperhand.
She trained her fitness and combat prowess five days of the week, using her weekends to challenege anyone with the stones to fight her. Many grown veterans had to be forced to fight her, some dying in the process.
Age did not temper her rage, and even into adolescence, the slightest irritations caused her to rampage. Two seasons ago, Eva ran away from The Bastion, taking fifty men-at-arms with her. Tales and reports of a girl who killed and robbed without mercy spread across the eastern countryside of Lundland.
There is currently a bounty on her head, posted by the late Marshal Uthred, for 3,000 bullis, but her father is willing to pay double that for her safe return. She starting to earn the nickname 'Eva the Bitch,' both for her temper, and her house's crest. Those within earshot of her prefer 'Eva the Blade.'
Lord Ryan has often been called 'Osgar's lapdog,' but in reality, he is more concerned with his own comfort first, and protecting against the Giant's second.

[ The crest of House Bernaccia; a per quarter division of yellow and blue, with a rampant blue gryphon with yellow claws. It is meant to symbolize the house's authority and unerring sense of justice. Their motto is 'To Ours What is Due.' ]
Lord Aethelfirth Bernaccia is the lord of Bernaccia, Vanalaigh, Daldenard, Stamburst, and Twilland. He is 63 years of age, tall of height and average of weight, light of skin, silver of hair and green of eye. He is married to Lady Cymberch, age 50, born to House Eadwyne, a house whose lands were conquered during the War of Unifcation by House Bernaccia. He has three daughters [ Aelfgyfu, age 34, Cyndrica, age 32, and Aelfwip, age 15 ]. His two younger brothers, and one younger sister, are all dead.
House Bernaccia was the one House that sided with House Osgar during the War of Unification in Aaldoreanfeald. Though their decision seemed senseless at the time, it proved to be a wise move: House Bernaccia now stands as the sole-surviving independent lord in Aaldoreanfeald, save for their masters, House Osgar.
Lord Aethelfirth has always been a man focused on owning more land, and creating an ever stronger legacy for his proud house. His past has been long, full of conquests and cruelties, but no matter how much he does now, his time left on earth is short. And so, he is in the kind of frantic rush that comes upon old men concerned with what they shall leave behind.
He long since married his eldest daughter, who he proclaimed his heir, to a son of the wealthy Sennev banking family. As they have already born a son, who is now in his sixteenth year, Aethelfirth is content that at least his House will eventually come under the rule of a proper-born man. Cyndrica he has married to the son of a wealthy merchant from the Ordained Kingdom, but for his daughter Aelfwip he can ill find a suitor, for though she is comely, she has been cursed all her life by mad spells, where she would spend days at a time muttering to herself in her room, and collapsing in choking fits in times of stress, or even when simply meeting new people.
As a vassal, Aethelfirth has paid his due diligence, but places his duties far below that of his own concerns. He proven an able commander of men, and cunning intriguer, but his cruelty and risk-taking has left his peasants and land abused, and having his House owe a great deal of money to the very family he gave his eldest daughter to.
