So, let me list out some clarifications with his powers:

1. He controls the sound waves, not the source of the sound.
2. Volume amplification or muffling allows everyone to hear the sudden spike or decline in loudness, but he can only do this for sounds he locks on.
3. I haven't figured out a possible solution for sudden loud noises, although what Sep suggested -sending out muffling sound waves of his own to sort of lessen the effect it has on his ears- sounds plausible.

Why do you think I said that, if the sound blast was an acceptable part of the evolution of his powers, that the stronger it gets, the more likely he is to cause disorientation and even headaches to himself?

Hence why I suggested going deeper and bringing up the energy to please the Ellri conglomerate.

The flaw of loud disorientating noises is all right, though part of the disorientation would likely mean that you can't easily think of a way to counteract/boost the noise.

I personally can't say it's my favourite idea of a power but then again I've got Kheris and I'm sure some people don't like him either.

Hmm... I don't want to make it too OP, and my character's not too great at using his power yet, so I think I might go with only expanding the illusions to sight and one other sense. (I have no idea how he's going to control another sense, though, but I'll try to figure that out.) Would he be too weak if he could only cast illusions over objects the size of a cat or smaller, then?

Sound waves are essentially just energy, so rather than manipulating the waves the relic could let you manipulate the energy that makes up the waves. Explains your powers a bit more.

Make them think the cadaver (that you made up) they're seeing reeks. Doesn't actually have to reek so long as they're sure it does. Limiting it to two senses is reasonable.

Why would he bring down a mountain?

Either way, I don't see such a partnership working out. Markul would likely see him as an arrogant child with delusions of grandeur. He doesn't really get along with people very well. At least, not in positions of power.

Cause it's quicker to get the Dynasty army to Kalesia without the mountains there. Also have a go at him, see what happens.

He hasn't used it yet in the RP and fighting one person requires substantially less power than leveling a city or an army or so :P

So to simplify his power, it would be "the manipulation and creation of sound waves. The relic allows him, as a secondary effect, to create ultrasound waves to bolster his echolocation skills." He can amplify or decline the volume of sounds, but only if the sounds around him are not disruptive and non-rhythmic (such as someone suddenly screeching in the middle of a crowd), and he is not distracted while in the process; volume manipulation will need a significant amount of focus to make it work, and if he gets interrupted, he has to start all over. Sound good or does someone have a problem still?

My only problem is the loud sound blasts that I like, but that would be an advanced move later on, when he can control sound waves more minutely, such as concentrating most of the of the sound wave into moving into one direction (since sound waves typically travel all around), so that his ears are not as affected, but that's up to Sparky to decide if he could even have that to begin with.

*Once I make my defensive post, Marastus Kane and the other Inquisitors' (from the Church of Idris) goal will be to get the hell out of Amaryth, peacefully if possible. They will abandon weapons and even armor if they must because Kane is pragmatic.

*Maki/Ellri/Sep, I'd rather let Maki fix the problems with his character itself before settling on the power, the character is more important to me because this whole RP was never meant to be so technical.

Alida xD Though you can call me Mary, most of my English-speaking friends call me that since it's easier to pronounce and remember.
