In this specific case it mainly effect's gamers, so mainly gamers are speaking up. But this is how the Internet communicates, it's not actually intended to be hostile. That's just the Internet language. Words are honestly just sounds (and in the internets case, letters) made in certain patterns that people assign certain meanings to. Just like how words, behaviours etc. have different meanings depending on the culture, the internet also communicates in a different way.

Date tracking, IP tracking. Basic pattern detection (such as if Zoe and Phil were actually hacked, why were their twitters 100% unaffected, and 4chan got their own symbol wrong?). It's rather easy if you have the technical know how.

Like I pointed out earlier, it's all a matter of how communities communicate. If they were legit, honest and sincere death threats then I'd be all for stopping them altogether. But considering it's just how people talk, it's a waste of man-power when we can easily just recognize for what it is, ignore it and focus on actual issues.

You do not judge a community by its extremists. You judge it by how it deals with those extremists, and as Dipper said, this community deals with them by publicly shaming them and removing them from their own presence. At the very least they don't condone those actions. They're the ones who tried to revive a pro-women project in which a game with a female protagonist was going to be made and most of the profits were to be donated to charity. Then Zoe Quinn shut it down because feminism. Do you know how fucked up that is? Look at Zipper's avatar. That was going to be the woman who starred in the game. Not some over-sexualized stripper lady, some tired looking gamer chick.

To Summarize: If we put the same yardstick of judgement against any group or movement, Dervish, even Roleplayer Guild would be guilty of extremism. You don't judge the whole by the acts of a few. If you see previous posts by me here I even detail how this corruption has been in the industry for years, how it's ruined people's careers in the gaming industry, bullied developers for not conforming to pseudo-feminist standards, and so on. I was never a 4chan member myself so I wouldn't of known.
I just knew 4chans reputation and track record, it seemed impossible for SJW's to take the site from them... but they did it. :/
