Chase was in all honesty getting more annoyed with this kid. He talked big and his voice was a pain in the ass to listen to. "Godlike power? What the hell are you talking about kid?"

The Golden Empress stepped down from the air and began walking towards him calmly. The air around her began cracking, and her smile went cold. "Your nowhere near ready to face me kid. Your tough for your age, but Reina was more so, and so was I. I'm annoyed at a weakling like you talking big and pulling powers out of your ass, thinking that somehow it makes you so tough, Hell, give Meruin a few months of preparation, and she'd grind you into dust."

Chase was close to James now, and lifted out an arm towards him. "Come on dog, give your paw, and I'll make sure you don't go rabid again."

James sighed. "We might as well head back to the school...the price for using my powers is starting to take its toll anyways..." Instead of accepting Chase's help, he simply turned his back to her as he stopped using his powers. A cut on the back of his neck was visible, and his left index and middle fingers were gone, not to mention that only he knew how much damage was hiding under his clothing or inside of his body.

Chase frowned, and touched the back of his neck, with or without consent. A golden crack filled the space where the cut was and soon it was replaced with whole flesh. "'Breaking' the concept of wounds is possible too, you know? In any case . . . kid, keep that ability of your under control. It's powerful, but ultimately useless if you can't control it. Well, anyway, you're at a school so you could probably learn how to do that." The Golden Witch sighed and withdrew. "Ah, whatever, spiels like this are Reina's thing!"

"Speaking of which, hey! Kid!" she said to Liz. "You still up for this?"

Meruin floated next to Tyler. Reina floated next to Meruin. The both of them where wearing identical expression; namely, highly curious expressions, like mad scientists.

Liz watched quietly from her knees in disbelief, she had not even fazed the girl was the worst part, she rendered her trump card as nothing more then a childrens toy without even thinking about it. Liz took back on her solid human form ignoring the usual after effects the transformation had on her body and walked off the beach into the forest out of sight wanting this whole fight be to over with now she knew how outclassed she was by Chase and how she had also lost control during the fight, something Liz thought she had mastered by now. After the fight she would probably just go back to her room and sulk for the rest of the day.

James just simply shrugged. He really didn't want to rely on anyone else's help. He sighed as he looked at his hand where the fingers were missing. "...looks like I have to fix my hand again...." he mumbled to himself before glancing around at everyone else.

Chase sighed. "Well . . . I guess that's that for now. I - what are you two doing?"

Meruin and Reina were wearing identical small smiles and both holding purple books. They began walking towards James. "Do you mind if we preform a little experiment?"

"I hope its something we could fight. I haven't worked out my muscles since I've been here." Kevin kept watch and kept his defenses up. "Led the way K9!" He shouts playfully.

Mutt did exactly that, he lead. The cave had a moderately steep slope to it, and seemed to go on well a ways. It was a good hike simply going down. Along the way, the small group passed several complete and incomplete skeletons, mostly of small animals, and rodents. Mutt pounced a rodent or two along the way, primarily for sport. After well over a half hour of walking, when alas the group was innearly oitch black, and the entrance of the curving cave was long since forgotten behind, Mutt began to cal out a game of "I spy." This of coarse went terribly since the only things to spy were rocks and occasional rats.

"I spy with my little eye..." Mutt was about to say "something GREY" for the fifty-somethingth time, when instead, he spotted a strange blue glow. "Something blue?" He said curiously. The blue light in fact was a torch, cruedly composed of an animals spine wrapped in fabric and dipped in fatts. The resulting light gave an erie blue glow, and left a rotten stench upon the air. Mutt cringed his face at the sight of the thing and couldnt even see that it was upon a man made, iron torch rack.

"OH GOD! THAT SMELL!" He shouted. "Lets go back, id rather sniff my schoolbooks than this!"

Kevin followed Mutt examining the skeletons and possible food the Mutt pounced on occasionally. After an unsuccessful game off I spy Mutt pointed out a blue light which cheered Kevin up for a second. But as he and Mutt came closer to the source a foul smell raged through the air forcing tears to slowly drip from his eyed. "AH!!!!!!!!" Kevin screamed running at about a mile per hour in the opposite direction they came.

Reina and Meruin nodded absentmindedly. "It'll only take a second," they chorused. Reina and Meruin cut a few strands of hair off James, and then hastily slammed it into the purple books they were holding.
The both of them smiled excitedly. When they were back at their respective workshops, the research would begin in earnest!

Chase gave lopsided smile. "Sheesh, you two, have some manners. Anyway, get us out of here already, Reina." The white haired mage shrugged in response. Soon afterwards, everyone on the island found themselves back inside the school.

Tyler shook his head as they teleported back to the school. "Damn, breaking the concepts of reality. That's pretty heavy. Theoretically speaking, could you break the concept of limits? Make yourself omnipotent? Or is there a limit to what you can do?" Tyler questioned Chase as his view of her began to turn. She really was quite powerful. Even if a bit loud.

I may not look or act like it, but I'm still a mage on par with Reina; that means that I'm as smart as she is, and have done almost as much research into my magic. Now, to answer your question, I can't. Omnipotence is a very complex concept, I mean. when you ask around the question on 'What is Omnipotence?' you get a million different answers, right?"

The Golden Witch clapped her hands, switching the conversation topic. "Now! Who're you, and how do you know my little Meruin? It seems your rather close from the random things you've been saying."

James stopped as he heard Chase and Tyler speaking. He looked at Tyler. "According to the way her powers work, omnipotence is not possible, because her powers are still limited by her knowledge. The only way for her to become omnipotent would be for her to also become omniscient, or all-knowing."

Liz now they had been teleported back to the school grounds quickly chose to slip away from the rest of the people and retreated back to her room like she had planned earlier locking it once she arrived and laying down on her bed.

She had yet to back anything so the room was still barren with no decorations on the walls or tables and no protection spells placed yet, after all Liz had not bought anything she wanted to protect, the girl had left all her magical items back at the island as she believed she would not of needed. The only item which Liz had bothered to unpack was a picture of her with her little sister which seemed to be the only thing of value Liz truly treasured.

"I wouldn't say I'm close to her... I've just fought her a couple of times. I wanted the rank 20 spot and she had it. I battled her for rank 20 and she kicked my ass. She forfeited though because something happened to her Grimoire and she wanted to check it. That gave me an automatic win and several bruises from the battle." Tyler rolled up his sleeves to prove his point. "I would say Sol knows her better than I do to be honest."

"Correct, essentially," said Chase nodding at James. She then returned her attention to Tyler. "Hm, so you're the boy the awakened her Soul Rune. I'd be careful around Meruin for awhile if I were you. You have no idea just how important that event was. Chances are, Meruin might have intense feelings for you for a few days. It's not unusual for that to happen, if you're wondering. Most mages become attached to whatever triggers their awakening, in this case, it just so happens to be a person."

Reina let Chase explain, while her thoughts focused on finding out who this 'Sol' person was.

In the meantime, Meruin's attention was drawn towards a sulking Liz. She seemed depressed for some reason.

James looked at Chase. "Hang on. I just realized something. If you destroy things at the conceptual level, then that means..." he trailed off as a faint glimmer of happiness appeared in his eyes. "Can you help me with something?"

"I'm sorry what?" Tyler responded as he looked over at Meruin and blanched slightly. 'Oh god, please no human contact.'

Meruin instinctively snapped her head towards the sound of Tylers voice. "Yes?" she said, her face deceptively neutral. Reina giggled; this was going to be fun.
