[OOC] Mizumi All-Girls' Highschool

[Raineh Daze]

Mizumi is a small town, nestled between forested mountains and a crystal lake. Despite its scenic beauty, it doesn't have much in the way of tourism, with roads between it and the next city over being ill-repaired and unlit, whilst the only trains stopping at the station are delivering goods. Yet despite this, it still has two high schools--one male, one female--even though they only have three classes each.

Why? Quite simply: Mizumi is a hotbed for the supernatural. Youkai newly coming down off the mountains, more urban spirits seeking a bit of peace and quiet, aliens who arrived to the Earth on an out-of-the-way hillside... all of them filtering through, and needing some form of education. A few disastrous accidents involving succubi and yuki-onna later, it was decided that two schools would be better than one, whilst also solving the increasing crowding problem the initial buildings were facing.

Thus, just outside of town proper, grounds stretching right up to the waters' edge, is the all-girls' school. Peaceful, picturesque... and only about a third of the school's population is actually human.

So, this is going to be both a yuri RP (meaning that if you aren't interested in that sort of thing, it isn't for you) and a very slice-of-life scenario without inbuilt drama. So, whilst this means monsters and aliens are common, they're going to be looking more like this and this than this and this. Basically: cute girls, without backstories leading up to 'there will be an enormous tragedy in the roleplay'--think of K-On! and the like for tone.

The other rule: within the first few days of the roleplay, despite knowing each other, I would rather not have characters pairing up and outright going out, because that too easily descends into a race to pair everyone up and I don't wish to get stuck in a situation where everyone my character talks to is already in a relationship again. So is pairing people up OOC within a similar timespan.

Name: Tsukihime Koneko

Personality: Koneko has an immense weakness for cute things, and sometimes starts trailing cute girls with all the subtlety of a supernova. If she sees a cute toy, she'll buy it without hesitation, then fall asleep with it as soon as she gets home. Being a cat, she's prone to sleeping at times she really shouldn't, but she's generally friendly and excitable once awake--if far too physical for most people's liking.

Skills: Extremely agile and flexible, can see in the dark, can talk to cats, and she can turn from cat to human and back again--but rarely does so, because she has a bad habit of forgetting where her clothes are. She can also make the dead move about as she wishes, but Koneko hasn't the faintest idea why she'd want to use this ability or what it's actually supposed to achieve. In terms of skills valued by humans, she has absolutely nothing.

Hobbies: Napping in warm spots, collecting soft toys, obsessing over adorable girls.

Club(s): Ceaseless Remedial Classes. Not actually a club, but with her academic ability, sadly a necessity.

Background: For fifteen years, Koneko was simply a small cat looked after by first and old couple, and then simply an old man. It was then that she proved to be one of those lucky felines that not only lives a long time, but becomes a nekomata; her tail split and she gained full intelligence. In the modern world, it's become necessary to register such occurrences and set up the resulting people with a reasonably accurate birth certificate--plus, if possible, find a family willing to adopt them. In Koneko's case, the old man was quite happy to, having no children of his own and having owned her since she was merely a kitten.
Several months into her first year of high school, the old man passed away, leaving the girl with no education whatsoever as the sole inheritor of his possessions. Fortunately, he was... well, the primary shareholder of a vast international business empire, which was more or less run by other people at that stage anyway. Koneko is pretty much in the care of various employees, even as she steadily fills up her cavernous residence with cat after cat and stuffed toy after stuffed toy.
Being essentially uneducated and only in her current school on funding alone, she has no time for clubs and spends vast amounts of time making up tests and attending remedial classes. It's made worse by her tendency to doze off on warm days, especially since nothing has managed to stop her bringing part of her collection along with her.

Other: Size-wise, Nadeshiko beats her out by the height of her ears; Koneko is a tiny cat and this carries over.
Basically every first year is better at every single class--except P.E.--than Koneko. She is academically the worst person in school.

Name: Kazamatsuri Nadeshiko

Age: 17

Race: Human

Appearance: Whee~ Note that she is probably the shortest (human) girl in her year. Please no-one make their character be so small that Nadeshiko has to practically be a midget.

Personality: Incredibly shy and incredibly socially awkward, and tends to fall apart rather quickly when made the center of attention. However, the other main defining part of her personality is that she is a massive pervert. She loves cute girls, and if it weren't for her crippling lack of self-confidence and inability to properly socialize she would probably be a legendary skirtchaser. Instead, she focuses her perverted attentions on erotic anime, manga and visual novels, and peeping on the swim team when they're training. She does like less explicit media, but a lot of the time she only chooses to watch or read things because they have cute girls in them. As can be surmised from her obsession with cute girls, Nadeshiko is very, very gay. Despite her shyness, she's not exactly in the closet; it happens to be one of the few things she is very up-front about, and the first thing people tend to note about her after her shyness. One more important trait to note about Nadeshiko is her general laziness; if something doesn't interest her she's not likely to bother doing it, and since she tends to only show interest in things that involve cute girls, well... There's a lot of things that don't interest her.

Skills: Nadeshiko doesn't really excel at much aside from art, and even then she is mostly preoccupied with drawing cute girls (and even then she is mostly preoccupied with drawing cute girls' naughty bits). She's small and not very atheletic, and as noted above her grades are average at best. She's by no means stupid, of course; she's just... Not exactly interested in most academical subjects enough to put in the effort to study. However, when something interests her she tends to show much more motivation; she puts her all into the things she loves, and thus amongst other things she has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of rather nerdy media, especially ones that involve lots of cute girls.

Hobbies: Manga and anime (...and hentai), visual novels, peeping on the swim team, writing erotic doujinshi, listening to extreme metal(!)

Club(s): Doujin Club

Background: Nadeshiko was so named in the hope that she would live up to the Japanese ideal of womanhood, but somewhere that went wrong. Instead of a confident, reliable, elegant young woman, she quickly turned into something of a shut-in. Her grades are average at best; she usually only just passes tests, and doesn't really excel at much, especially PE. However, her passion is art. She is a wonderful artist, able to expertly draw beautiful girls, beautiful girls kissing, beautiful girls sharing intimate moments... Mostly, she draws lesbian pornography. Her stories are well written enough, although it's clear that it's there mainly to set up for the main event. As far as her social life goes, it may as well not even exist; she has few if any friends due to her social awkwardness, leading her to be almost unable to talk at length with anyone other than her parents or older brother. Other than that, her life has been pretty average; her coming out wasn't much of a big deal, and she's mostly just kept to herself and her manga, anime and games.

Appearance: "Well, I have to get to class..."
Personality: Ayano is a responsible girl. She does her homework dutifully, pays close attention in classes, and generally has spent her time in school in ways she feels is wise. In all respects, she appears to be a model student. She is also quite bookish, spending plenty of time in the library and in bookstores where she buys quite a large number of books. Ayano also enjoys manga and light novels. While she is not outright shy, she sometimes is a little awkward in unexpected social situations. She's quite comfortable with friends, though. She feels she is sensible girl who does sensible things in sensible ways. However, Ayano is easily embarrassed and flustered, and unusual situations tend to get a rather frantic reaction from her as she tries to return them to normalcy before someone gets in trouble for it. Though, in reality, she sometimes finds strange situations quite enjoyable. As long as no-one gets hurt. And her little sister doesn't get influenced by them.
Skills: Ayano is not the most physically fit person and can't do much in the way of just about anything you'd see in PE. However, she is an okay swimmer and is excellent academically.
Hobbies: Anime, manga, light novels, the occasional video game, and any literature she feels is good. Ayano also enjoys World History a great deal, but that's more of a subject then a hobby.

Background: Ayano's life has been pretty normal, really. She has a ten-year-old sister whom she wants to be a good big sister for, and that's really about it. There's nothing extraordinary about her background or anything.

Name: Hebihime Sakurako
Age: 18
Race: Naga
Appearance: "Let's blow this joint."(to avoid weirdness she's actually human lower down then the picture shows, physically human until about her mid-thigh. But it's a safe site so they'd have to give her a skirt if they wanted to do that and all and I wouldn't be able to use the picture if they didn't. ^^;)
Personality: Sakurako is... aggressive. Aggressively friendly, aggressively loud, aggressive about her rock... She's not mean(unless you make her angry. She can be pretty unpleasant then), she's just... pretty aggressive. She's even somewhat foulmouthed, or at least moreso then the people around her. She is a very passionate person, and this passion displays itself most frequently when it comes to playing her guitar. To put it simply, she gets extremely into rocking out on her guitar. That's not to say she can't do slower songs, she just really likes rocking out. Sakurako is also prone to being tempermental and irritable when annoyed, going from somewhat foulmouth to extremely foulmouthed quite rapidly. Sakurako is openly gay and rather aggressive in her pursuit of pretty girls. She refers to this as "Being a carnivore."
Skills: Sakurako is quite a competent guitarist. She is also rumored to be worryingly effective with hurting things with her tail or a baseball bat. She's about average academically(though she suffers considerably in the math department).
Hobbies: Rocking out on her guitar, dark comedy series, regular comedy series, perverted comedy series, action, a surprisingly large amount of romance...

Background: Sakurako was raised in a fairly normal fashion for her race, but throughout her childhood she demonstrated, well... even in Elementary school she tended to disregard rules, openly insult people who made her angry, and run out at night with a baseball bat and use it and her tail to beat up street thugs. Sakurako was, from a young age, quite the delinquent. By middle school, she had a red jacket and everything. And then... rather suddenly, shortly before high school, she mellowed out considerably(yes this is Sakurako after she's mellowed out), devoting a lot of time to her guitar. Really, even if it was obvious she was a delinquent, aside from the people she ran(slithered?) with it was hard to be sure if she was the one doing a lot of things. Nowadays it's just rumors. But even if she's kind of aggressive, the Light Music Club guitarist surely didn't do all that, right?

Name: Shiori Karpathy
Age: 49(she is the homeroom teacher) and yet, physically about 10.
Race: Vampire
Appearance: "This lens flare makes it hard to teach..."
Personality: Shiori does her absolute best to be a responsible and excellent teacher for her students. Regardless of this situation, she will endeavor to be the best teacher she can be. However, well... she is mentally and chronologically an adult, but physically... she's a little girl. She sometimes finds it a bit hard to be taken seriously. This is not helped by some of her habits, which include keeping a giant candy jar on her desk so she can have some while she's in charge, reading rather childish things(alongside the adult ones, though!), and generally having somewhat childish habits. When she's not on the job, though... Shiori can be a remarkably charming and rather domineering girl with a sarcastic streak. Indeed, it seems to be a total shift from how she acts when she's teaching. After all, Shiori can't set that kind of example when she's teaching. She can even tend towards the teasing and taunting type when she's not working. Though sometimes this bleeds through into her behavior when she's teaching, too.
Skills: Shiori can speak Hungarian, English, and Japanese fluently. She can teach well, and as a vampire she is faster and stronger then most humans. She must also drink blood in order to survive, but there are plenty of relatively harmless ways of doing that.
Hobbies: Collecting candies(the collection never lasts very long), baking, reading.
Club(s): Advisor for the baking club.
Background: The daughter of a Japanese woman and a Hungarian man, Shiori had a fairly normal life up until her tenth birthday, when one of her father's friends turned out to be a vampire and turned her after she suffered a life-threatening accident in order to save her life. While this meant she would survive, it also meant that she was frozen at her current age of ten years old physically-speaking. Regardless of this, she pursued an education and eventually sought to be a teacher. Years later, she now lives in Mizumi City, Japan, intending on being the best teacher she can be for the students there. She just also happens to be a vampire loli with a passion for frills.

Name: Grizel Lyall

Age: 18

Race: Wulver

Appearance: "Maybe I'll eat you, maybe not~?"

Personality: Constantly excited and always loud and boisterous, Grizel's default volume seems to be somewhere around 11. Less of a sociable person and more of a... meddler of sorts, Grizel has a tendency to place herself somewhere she may or may not be welcome. Sometimes, she wants to hand out jump-scares, and at other times... surprisingly charitable. Mostly expressed in the form of fish left on one's window-sill or in front of someone's door if necessary. Why? Well, if they can't afford their own fish, then they really need the help, right?

Something that Grizel finds annoying is being mistaken for a 'generic' werewolf, as she considers herself to be a completely different species altogether. Those who make such a grave mistake are met with a lot of glaring. And pouting. And maybe a slightly smaller fish delivered to their window.
Overall, despite her annoying nature and love for handing out a little scar or two, Grizel is ultimately very kind-hearted. Any requests for help and assistance are taken very seriously, and Grizel will devote her full time and energy to support someone if necessary.

Skills: Locating fish, being loud, and... fluency in speaking two languages, I suppose.

Hobbies: Giving fish to the poor, howling within earshot of a lone person, fishing, and moonlit walks.

Club(s): Head of the Lyall Hood Club, which involves giving fish to the needy.

Background: Hailing from Scotland, originally, Grizel moved to Japan years ago for some reason. Her accent is still quite noticeable, especially when she forgets what to say in Japanese and switches languages.

Name: Yori Aragaki

Age: 18

Race: Human

Personality: Yori is a confident person, and whilst she can sometimes be formal or seemingly unwilling to take part in social interaction, this melts away when she's in her element, fights. Yori loves fights, and when in them he acts in a way arguably a lot more fitting of her age, casual, cocksure, freely throwing out banter as she risks health and well-being. Even to the few people she'd consider friends, Yori can seem tightly wound. She often appears to be on edge, coiled and ready to spring at any moment.

Yori's a perfectionist, to her she must excel in order to be worth anything to anyone. To do less is a failure to herself and a disservice to those who have given her so much in life. To this end, she spends a lot of time training, pushing her body to a degree that would be excessive to most. In a situation which would prove to be too much for her capabilities, she risks injuring herself due to her stubborn unwillingness to accept her own failures.

Between Yori's sometimes amusingly wound up, serious personality around others and her choice to wear trousers rather than a skirt at school, she's not exactly the most feminine person out of her classmates. Something she will (probably) never reveal is her absolute love of zettai ryouiki, an attraction she considers both shameful and confusing as a girl.

Background: The girl's parents were apparently important and respected, not that she remembered much about that. How she ended up severed from their care has never been of much importance to Yori, her memories of early childhood having all been within an orphanage. Not that this was a bad thing, her time there was definitely one she'd consider positive more than anything else.

She was always mature for her age, but that didn't stop her from getting into her fair share of fights. Bloodied noses and lips were common place for the scrappy girl. This is where her love of fighting began. Her time at the orphanage came to an end when a relative finally came forward to take her in - her grandfather.

The man was not around long, age claiming him only a few years after Yori was released into his care. Although their time was short, her grandfather left a powerful impression on the girl which would play a large part in how she developed into such a soldier-like young woman. After his passing, there was nothing much left for her; She continued to attended school, trained her body and mind, feeling removed from her fellow students in her solitary struggle against her own perceived inadequacy. In her time watching and listening, one reoccurring thought, a question, kept presenting its self:

Race: Fairy! Sadly, this doesn't mean wings. It does mean being very very small.

Personality: For the most part, Kaede is quite reserved with her emotions, being both naturally rather unemotive and resigned to the fact that people tend to not notice herall that well. She is, however, quite easily worried when it comes to changing classrooms--like for a science experiment--and even getting home, looking quite plaintive and holding her arms up whilst hoping that somebody picks her up.
Scared of large animals.

Skills: Amazing stamina from having to walk with writing instruments to actually get anything legible down, and quite fast, too. She's got a surprisingly loud singing voice for such a tiny little girl. Plus she's pretty good at baking, though it's somewhat exhausting.

Hobbies: Watching TV, karaoke, food.

Club(s): Baking Club (Icing Specialist)

Background: Not much to say. Lives just down the road from the school, in what looks like a real-life dollhouse set on an earthy block to raise it to arm level.

Other: Tends to avoid wearing shoes, because she spends large amounts of time on furniture and other people's clothing, plus the difficulty of getting proper footwear in that sort of size.

Well, here's the newly-revised (and slightly extended) CS. I managed to edit and even add to her personality, but had to rewrite the bio from scratch.

Amaya

Name: Amaya Kuroi

Age: 17

Race: Human

Appearance:

Personality: Amaya's a little strange, to put it politely. Bluntly, this chick absolutely, undoubtedly, and indisputably has some screws loose somewhere. She'll say completely macabre things in normal conversation as if it's perfectly natural, and always seems to be talking about this or that most certainly made-up ghost or monster when she isn't talking about real ones. Add it to celebrating at least a dozen holidays she just as obviously made up, and it'd be hard not to call her pretty kooky.

However, she's a good kid. If she sees somebody down in the dumps, she'll be sure to give them a pick-me-up to the best of her abilities, and making a new friend is often the highlight of her day. Her interests may be morbid, and she's clearly not all there in the noggin, but in the end, Amaya's still human. As a human, it's only natural that she'd want to interact with others, even if "others" includes "people without a pulse." Rather, she seems more interested in the people who don't have a pulse.

Romantically, she claims "I don't believe that barriers like gender or a pulse should come between two people in love." Actually, if you can get her to stop talking about death and scary monsters and nice sprites, Amaya's got a surprisingly romantic and straightforward mindset...granted, her definition of "romantic" seems a tad off. Even so, win her heart and she'll be loyal to a fault.

It rarely shows since she's always talking about horror stuff, but she's also quite the airhead. Often forgetting about something or completely missing the point of what somebody's telling her if they beat around the bush. One time she even nonchalantly dismissed somebody confessing to her by saying "It's nice that you're offering your heart to me like that, but I already have one and I'm pretty sure I don't have room to fit a second one in. And I'm bad at stitching people shut, so I could bleed out too. Please keep your heart inside your own body; you need it more than me."

...y'know, for somebody whose philosophy is "Death should be celebrated; the deceased is going to a better place", Amaya seems to take a lot of care to not die. That's probably the most normal thing about her. And her fear of lightning. Expect her to be the first one to run inside when she sees some.

Skills:
- Tells excellent ghost stories.
- Can make any sandwich that doesn't require grilling/toasting/etc. in less than thirty seconds.
- Can speak backwards just as fluently as forwards.

Hobbies:
- Telling ghost stories
- Pulling relatively harmless pranks, mainly at night.
- Preparing for any of her weird and oftentimes macabre holidays that don't actually exist
- When she can't think of anything else to do, Amaya likes just lying back outside and taking in sunlight.

Club(s): Currently working on a petition to found an Undead Research Club. It's not going well since she always forgets about it.

Background: Amaya used to actually be perfectly normal. Still fascinated by the undead and whatnot, but nothing like today. In fact, Amaya used to be pretty well-known back in her native Hokkaido. Her reputation wasn't necessarily a good one, but there were still people who liked her. The ones who didn't were mainly fed up with her constant gleeful telling of ghost stories, despite her natural knack for them.

Back then, her only flaw with her stories was that they all started with the exact same line. "It happened on a dark, stormy night." Well, at about the time she started junior high, she may or may not have gotten a little fed up with certain folks dissing her ghost stories. And so, on a dark stormy night just like the ones in her stories, Amaya had planned to enact exactly what had happened in them. Minus the killing. Sadly, this plan never came to fruition, as Amaya was struck by a bolt of lightning almost immediately after stepping outside.

Amaya spent a couple weeks in the hospital after that. At first, her head was a complete blank, but she was beginning to remember things after a day or two. During her stay, she shared a room with a kindly old fellow who wouldn't be leaving the hospital. Not long before Amaya left the hospital, the old fellow told her the first thing she'd heard in the hospital besides pointless small talk. "Even if I'm dying, it just means I'm going to a better place, where I can be happier." For a head that was still gathering itself, it sounded far more profound than it was.

When Amaya was sent home a day after her roommie passed away, she was quite clearly a changed girl. Among other things, her love of the ghastly had grown immensely, her wits weren't nearly as sharp as they'd used to be, and she'd grown obsessed with the idea that "Death should be celebrated; the deceased is going to a better place." Her family moved to Mizumi not long after Amaya left the hospital to give her a fresh start, and it was where she began high school a couple years later.

Now she's back for her third and final year of high school, no more normal than she has been for the previous two. But if asked about it, Amaya would surely say she prefers herself this way. Now if only she could get over that lightning phobia...

Name: Cody MacBeth
(NOTE: Cody chose her own surname for filing purposes, as she was told she needed one. She took the name after Shakespeare's play MacBeth, and its titular protagonist. However, she actually has no such surname, so addressing her by "MacBeth" probably won't get her attention...unless, y'know, she happens to be performing MacBeth as MacBeth.)

Appearance:

Personality: There are few things in this world Cody dislikes; she's a very open-hearted girl who tries to find the wonder in just about anything. In the same vein, there are few people in the world she won't like; Cody is a hopeless optimist who can't not look at the glass half-full, or can't help seeing the best in even the most undesirable, hateful, scorned person in the world. It would probably suffice to call her naive, though knowing Cody, she'd probably retort with "No I'm not!"

For all her kindness and optimism though, Cody does have a bit of a temper, and loves to fight. She'll exchange blows just as soon as she will smiles. It's the thrill-seeker in her; Cody loves to put herself in danger for some reason. Whatever minor thrill she can find, she'll pursue it recklessly for that adrenaline rush she believes to be the most satisfying thing in the world. Bigger thrills seem capable of keeping her satisfied for longer periods of time, but a lack of thrills can lead up to her doing some seriously dangerous things that any sane person would yell at her for.

She also has a fondness for the dramatic. Especially acting. Be it on a stage or on the big screen, Cody is fond of and easily moved by actors and actresses playing their parts. Expect her to be the first one to cry during a touching moment in a play or movie, and the last one to stop talking about the show afterwards. She also enjoys doing the acting as well, though she feels more compelled to play the male roles in anything she does. Probably the work of her homosexuality which she's far from accepted.

Another thing she loves is natural disasters. Partly because a dullahan will naturally like things that can kill people, and partly because she's such a thrill-seeker, Cody has a love for seeing and experiencing nature at its absolute worst that's almost to the point where it could be considered as being a turn-on for her. The worse the weather, the more excited and sociable she'll get. Thankfully, Cody will also be well-prepared for any such disaster happening, so if you're caught unprepared in the worst of it, expect her to be a friend who won't mind swooping in to give you a hand.

Background: Dullahans are known as fearsome messengers of death, but it would be foolish to assume that's the only occupation they pursue. Some prefer the notion of becoming a baker, or a horse jockey, or an international dodgeball star...as the ball. Cody aspired to be none of these things. For all her life, she wanted to be a storm chaser, or an actress, or a horse doctor. She wasn't quite sure which path was right for her, leading to some sage advice from her father to a young Cody. "You still have plenty of time to choose; don't rush yourself."

And so some years passed. Cody continued to grow up in Ireland, unsure what she wanted to do when she grew up, but certain that she'd enjoy whichever path she took. And then out of nowhere, about five years ago, Cody's father announced that they were moving to Japan. Seemed there was a high school somewhere in Japan that would be...well, more accepting of a dullahan than the ones in Ireland, and he wanted to give Cody some time to learn the language. And so they moved.

She started up as a second-year in junior high, given some supplemental aid by one of her classmates in translating the lessons and slowly learning how to speak Japanese for herself. By high school, she was at least able to hold conversations and pay attention in school. That was where her three years in Mizumi's lovely little high school began. She joined two clubs in the school, and up to this point, she's proven to do quite well in both clubs. Her grades suffer a little because her hobbies are kinda time-consuming, but if she keeps up the pace, she should graduate.
