Welcome students! I wont talk much because you are probably getting ready for the new fresh year of the school! Interesting challenges for both male and female to compete! Last year the guys won! Who would win this year? Come oooon, girls! You cannot let them win!" The Principal was a girl so ofcourse she would be in the girl's side."

An announcement was heard around the school. Arielle stood up from the bench, she was sitting just outside on her phone and on instagram. She could hear the boys already cheering that they won last year's challenges. But this time it was the girls turn! So they had to win. Especially with Arielle being a junior. As she got up she threw away her coffee on a nearby garbage can and walked inside to her first class, math. But first she had to make a quick stop to the locker room.

Jarred listened to the announcement as he got out of his car, running late due to the fact that the side of hair he slept on stuck up like a beacon of attention. Everything about him screamed brooding rich boy to the greatest extent; his Mercedes car, his brand-name clothes, the flashy aviators that hung from the collar of his shirt. His day was not turning out well, though he was made reminiscent of last year's victory. An enjoyable triumph. Then he saw Ariella, intercepting her on the side-walk with a smirk, "Hey, looking forward to the challenges? A little bit of a masochistic spree if I ever saw one." He teased, though it was quite obvious he liked her, he almost never talked to anyone, but he did occasionally talk to Ariella exclusively.

Elina left the classroom and headed to the locker room. She kept her head down, not wanting to be noticed. She was usually outgoing, but sometimes she got into antisocial moods.

Levi grabbed his lunchbag and headed out. He hurried to the locker room.

Jason and Amber hear the announcement as they arrive at school."what was that about?" Amber asks as she steps out of the car. Jason sighs "oh yeah this place got a thing....you will learn all about it later." he mutters as he grabs his backpack from the back seat. "now get to class, Ma is gonna be pissed at me if you mess around and not take school seriously." he says as he heads off to his class "Whatever Jay Mom is always mad for some reason or another" Amber says as she waves and heads over to her class.

Samuel practically ignored the announcement. Last year the guys had won the tournament, and he could care less. It took considerable prompting by his peers, family, and even teachers to keep him from skipping school while it occurred. He just couldn't stand the idea of doing something so silly. It made no sense to him, and therefor he believed that he shouldn't be required to do it. However, he also knew that if he didn't he'd get hell for it, and that was a greater incentive to take part than any pride he had for his gender.

He was currently sitting silently outside the math class, looking at his laptop. He currently was checking out a gardening forum, reading about the cultivation of Sugarcane. He also had another tab open about CNN. It never hurt to be aware of the outside world, not that it interested him too much. He usually just checked out the Travel section.

Ariella closed her locker as soon as she turned around she bumped into the one guy that she has been having a crush since freaking freshman year and she hasn't had the freaking strenght to talk to him, well flirt with him, because they are friends, his name is Jarred. He is so cute and every girl wants him, well almost every girl. "Hey.... And oh really? You guys are lucky, I didn't participate in last years challenge. But guess what? This year I am. Psh, good luck, buddy." She smirked at him, as she flipped her hair cutely hitting his face and bumping into his shoulder with her own, but she had to tippy toe to bump into his shoulder because he was taller, but it was all playfully, nothing serious. Ariella giggled as she walked away to her class. He looked so cute today. But her outfit probably didn't stand out, basically she was wearing high waisted jeans, a white tanktop, her white vans, and her hair was straight like a line. Maybe this year Ariella can ask him to the dance or something? It is the boys who are supposed to but she dosen't think Jarred sees her that way. Sad sad. Ariella stopped turning around and going to the water fountain to drink a bit of water, Jarred was close so he could talk to her if he wanted.

Jeremiah slung his bag over his shoulder as he stepped out of his jeep and headed into the school. He rolled his eyes at how gung-ho the principles was for the whole challenges thing. He didn't have the same enthusiasm for them as most of the others did especially the guys sense of superiority since this was his first year at the school. hold any particularly strong feelings for them himself, if they asked him to participate he would but if they didn't he wouldn't really care. He checked his schedule again and groaned in annoyance as he realized he had his second most hated class ever first thing in the morning. His seemingly permanent scowl grew deeper as he trudged off to Science.

Jason enter's his class, science ...he always hated science. He just needed it to take it so he could graduate and move on with life. Moving to the back of the class confident and with a half smile on his face, saying hey to some people. He took off his Mets hat. ever since he was a kid it was a habit of his to take off his hat ever since his ma yelled at him or three hours about how rude it was. The guy next to him nods his head "whats good Jay?" he asks "nothin much hey how was that think with that person?" he asks
Amber walks into her math class. Nervous she goes to the back of the class and sits. She prays the teacher doesn't call on her. Man...why did me and Jay have to be in different classes... she thinks to her self. As Amber watches people stream in she breaths in deeply and exhales "Alright first day...got to be confident..."

Walking into his math class, Samuel looked about for the spot that he would sit in for the entire year. He always was a bit odd like that, choosing one spot and sitting in it. If he couldn't get it, then he would sit as near as possible, while giving the 'trespasser' an extremely intense and uncomfortable stare. He found a nice place in the back corner of the class. He chose it because of its proximity to a socket. He promptly plugged in his laptop and continued to read about the News. He was currently watching a video news report on the top ten snobbish cities, his headphones blocking out the noise of the class. He found it to be quite the interesting watch. He had no qualms about ignoring the teachers class, seeing as he found it boring.

Amber Notices a boy enter the class and sit in the back. well he is very nervous... she thinks sarcastically as she watches Samuel settle into his seat. how can people be so relaxed! I mean sure i would assume most of these are older then me...but still! Still thinking she takes out her notebook and her pen. She flips to the first page and at the top she starts to doodle.

Nate was late. Just like he was everyday. He had no excuse for it. It was not like his car did not start or his alarm did not go off. Whatever the reason he was running to get to class. His blonde hair moving all over as he ran rather quickly to his math class. When he was close he tried to slow down by putting his foot down as a brake but instead he slid by the door for a few feet because of the floor. It must have looked strange to anyone in the class. Correcting himself he walked back to the door as if nothing had happened. Ignoring the weird looks he say down toward the middle of the room and caught his breath.

Jarred blinked and stood still for a moment before smiling and shaking his head, following Ariella towards the Schedule 1 math room. Eventually she stopped to drink, Jarred leaning up against the locker a few feet away from the fountain and placing a foot against it, "I was assigned Schedule 2 this year, I tried to switch out but my counselor is stubborn as hell." He lamented, "It's too bad we won't be in the same class, what're you gonna do since you won't be able to cheat off of my anymore?" He continued to tease, he was fairly certain she did well on her own, but he still liked to brag that he was the one headed for being the valedictorian. He didn't like being late but he couldn't help that he had to spend any time he could talking to Ariella since they got split up this coming year. As long as he kept his top scores, neither the school, nor his parents would complain about being tardy a few times.

As she was drinking the water, she stopped looking up and seeing Jarred continuing to talk to her. "Aww. Yeah....we dont have the same classes. But its okay... Dont worry about it and lies you say! I never cheated with you in the classes. Pahlease. I can take care of myself alone." She smiled and got closer to Jarred and hugged him tightly, as she pulled back from the hug, she grabbed his ear and pulled it hard but not that hard, he was a man so he can handle it. "Bye bye. Talk to you in lunch. Since thats what we have together." She smiled at Jarred bitting her bottom lips and making her way to her math class.

Jarred winced as his ear was grab, the one-two move of the hug then the pinch was quite effective and his face formed a playful scowl as he rubs his ear. Smiling as she walks away, he mutters a silent "Yeah..." and shakes his head. He made his way to his Science class, factual and logic based, science was almost as nice of a class as Math for Jarred, though he couldn't say he was especially paying apt attention to any of his classes. Striding into his class moments before it started, he walked to the back of the class and nonchalantly sat his bag beside his desk and sat, leaning back in his chair.

Elina hurried to Science. Once there, she picked a seat and sat down. she glanced around at her classmates and recognized a few from last year.

Levi walked into the math classroom. He sat next to Jerrod. "Hey." He remembered the rich kid from last year.

Jeremiah walked into Science and took a seat. He gave a quick glance at to see all the students in the room but turned back around so know one would notice. He leaned back in his seat and waited for the class to start. The sooner it was over, the better.

Elina noticed a really cute guy come in and sit down. He looked young though, so he was probably out of her league. She sighed.

The van was small, beat up and in need of a lick of paint and a wash. At the wheel sat Saoirse's 20-something brother, Rory, who sat casually with a head out the window, a fag in his mouth. He had one hand on the wheel and one arm out the window, soaking up the sun. He, like many Irishmen, worked in manual labour and that usually meant that his van was dusty, stanky and untidy. In the front seat beside him sat Saoirse, who looked like she had just awoken from a short sleep. Saoirse hadn't bothered with simple formalities like brushing her hair or eating breakfast this morning - she had run a toothbrush around her mouth, tossed on some old clothes and jumped into her brothers van to go to school.

'You walkin' home, aye?' asked Rory, blowing smoke out the window as he went through the suburbs at a casual speed. 'Aye' said Saoirse groggily, feeling her eyelids beginning to slip. No doubt she would sleep through most of her classes. 'Sound grunted Rory. 'You should stop sittin' up playing fuckin' TF2 all night. It fucks with your sleep, hey!' Saoirse grunted in reply and soon, they were approaching the school. A few Hispanic beano's hung out the front but everyone had more or less already gone inside. 'Fuck sakes, look at that brown bastard!' grinned Rory, watching as one of the Beano's stood up. 'Aye' murmured Saoirse, too tired to care. 'Good luck'. 'Good luck' answered Rory, unlocking the door and letting the Irish teenager out of his car. She waved nonchalantly as he pulled off with a large screech from the brakes and was around a corner in seconds. Saoirse sighed and turned to face her school, nothing better than a prison. She walked quickly towards the school doors, carefully stepping over the used needles, used condoms and used burrito's that often littered the front of American Highschools. The beano's ignored her, too busy smoking their cigarettes, reloading their guns and re-wrapping their bandanna's.

The inside of the school smelt of angst, sweat and, near the lads toilet, had a tinge of piss. Kids lined the corridors, all nervously waiting to see what classes they would be put in or talking with friends. As she walked by the noticeboard, a green poster caught her eye and she groaned. 'DIA DHUIT, CAIRDE! THE IRISH-AMERICAN CLUB IS RECRUITING! ALL IRISH KIDS WELCOME FOR DISCUSSION THIS WEEK: POTATOS, THE IRISH LANGUAGE AND HOW MUCH WE HATE THOSE FUCKIN' ORANGE BASTARDS IN THE NORTH! MEETINGS ON EVERY WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY! TIOCFAIDH AR LA!'

The Irish-American Club was one of the groups that annoyed Saoirse to no ends. When she had first joined the school, she had gone to the club curious to find fellow Irish people in America. To her horror, she discovered the small club was made up of just five people with vague Irish roots and the leader was a black kid called LeShawn McSean, who immediately began speaking broken Irish to her and showing her badly drawn Fanart of Eamonn De Valera killing the Queen of England. The rest were just as bad - often fat, nerdy and perverted with a habit of doing fake, horrible Irish accents that sounded rough and rugged compared to her own soft Irish tones. She had backed out of the club on the first day but had spent the rest of the year dodging LeShawn McSean who bombarded her with questions about Ireland, it's language and often made creepy comment about her accent and how she needed to dress 'more Irish'. She had hoped that the club would disband with LeShawn going to college but it seemed another group of so-called 'Irish-Americans' had popped up. She rubbed her eyes as she scanned the board, hoping a video game club had popped up. But alas, it looked like another year looked to go by without video game club.

She sighed as she turned around and dropped her satchel onto the floor. She leaned on the wall outside the door of her first class, Maths. She was going to wait a bit before walking in. Saoirse needed to see an old friend first.

(Action Tiem)

There was nothing that represented emptiness more than miles of empty road, flanked by corn rows that marched drearily into the distance. Up above the sky opened to a milky blackness as the sun barely crested the horizon. Barely there to kiss the wispy tops of miles of corn. No doubt out there machines were beginning to roll out of empty barns to till through the day's monotony.

The lifestyle was dreary and dead. It was almost surprising that amid this ocean of corn and fields that a community could survive. But despite merely two-stop lights and a school large enough to accommodate fourteen classes, it existed. No one could probably recall whether they know the name, and the farmers that owned these fields could probably only recall the county. The town was a secret. It was the right place to hide. And it was empty.

And there wasn't anything that was so much its antithesis than a marble-white Lambo convertible. Burning down the road at thirty over the speed limit, the top drawn down so as to allow the red hair of its pampered pilot to fly in the wind behind her. Purple nails drummed the luxury steering wheel to the low slow beats of one Rick Ross. With the ear-rings and the look of a smart-ass, she was something more akin to the look of a bitch from Southern California than that of someone who would be in a fourteen-class selection school district. But if anyone had wished to go to St. Louis, they had not to go far: it had come to them, in some strange, alienating, and twisted form.

For as fast as the Italian mustang broke through the still morning light it was no surprise that it had left the Empire of Corn as quick a time as it had. Coming up to the town's one singular stop light. The light that marked the edge of Mainstreet, where the lowly cracked up state highway passed through, long forgotten with the inclusion of the Freeway that bypassed the town at a much shorter twenty miles. The only real traffic being from the semis, who only went as far as the town silo before speeding off. Trains stopped coming to town long before she arrived.

Idling at the red-light she waited. Impatiently thrumming the steering wheel as she sat listening to her music. She grumpily waited, starting down the main road of the truest one-horse town she had ever seen with an expression of contempt. All store fronts were dark, and all catering to the down-home conservatives that lived here. The tallest visible structures the steeple of the town's single Methodist church, itself having seen better days, and the red-brick prison that was the town's single Highschool. Somewhere off on the edge of town was where the first two stages of public education sat in one single building, she had never been there.

With a light flicker, the traffic light changed to green, and she was off to an impatient roll to her classes.

The drive through to the school's parking lot wasn't very long. She pulled in as a battered van pulled out, coughing out a film of black smoke as it passed. Everything about this town was in a wreck. Her car and her daddy was perhaps the only thing of any significant value around. Even the unofficial beaner guards that lurked out front of the school looked to be easily paid off if it came to it, and nothing to worry.

After all, she was the only Lambo in this state clear to Oklahoma City. Would be hard to hide the fact if it went missing. And as they watched her up it wasn't hard to know that they knew. But she couldn't help but suspect they wanted to.

She rolled in and killed the car just as the principle gave her announcement. To be frank, she didn't care. It sounded to her like the dying attempt of someone to save something that was already dead. And she only had one more year, and what little pride she had left was basically useless. She didn't care how good the school's football team was.

Hiking her bag up her back, she stepped out. Hicks and Hillbillies, Norlandia North was on the premises.

White chic cowboy boots hit the tired pavement with a confident smack. The leather riding up her shin to half-way between her ankles and her knees. From there on up skinny blue jeans took over for framing her long tight legs. A dark purple pull over sweater hugged tight to her curvy body, as her familiar white scarf hung from her shoulders. Running her fingers through her short crimson hair she passed the Braceros and their used refuse that littered the grounds, and into the musty halls beyond.

The school wasn't hard to navigate, and it only took a brief minute before she came to her first assignment for the day: Math. And hanging outside was a familiar face.

“Aye, laad.” Norlandia grinned amused, throwing on her best, terrible impersonation of her friend. “What's good?” she asked.
