Name: Scarlett Evermore
Alias(s): Sweet Dream
Age: 22
Affiliations: Mercs or Corps
Description:Standing at about five foot, ten inches, Scarlett has refined her body to a heightened state of fitness. With enough training to rival a fair amount of special forces around the world and natural beauty, her complexion and the way she dresses would make one think that she's a hero fighting for law and order but in reality, that couldn't be more untrue. Honestly, most people are often misled to believe that she's not a Merc because her personality usually reflects that belief - most of the time, she's inappropriately whimsical. Unlike other Mercs, Scarlett purposely dresses to stand-out from a crowd for no apparent reasoning. Her hair is a deep shade of violet that goes pretty well with her light grey eyes. All in all, you're definitely not going to miss her!
Powers:Dreamstate:There is precisely two Metas on the face of the planet that can create what has come to be called, a 'dreamstate'. Unlike all the other Metas who can access dreams and steal information from them, these two Metas can actively create dreams which they can inhabit or use for their own purposes. These two Metas are obviously, Scarlett and the infamous Nightmare, her father.
This engineered space can be weaponised, often being used by the architect to force itself into another's dream and using this new access to steal information or overload the dreamer's mind. Her father had been known to permanently inflict brain-damage on some victims but she is nowhere near his abilities, considering he is bordering SS-class and she's only a B-class. Unlike her father, however, Scarlett doesn't wish to crush someone's consciousness with her powers; that would just ruin all the fun! Instead, she steals valuable information such as desires or wishes and uses it to her advantage. The trick is making someone believe that she is capable of gifting these desires to them. A good but distinctly difficult trick, might I add.
The disadvantages to this power is that it requires a crucial amount of concentration to do so and it can be immensely testing if the subject is awake as this requires her to drag them into the 'dreamstate'. Any damage to her inflicted in this realm is usually virtual but on more than one occasion, she has emerged from the state to find herself in quite a bit of pain and covered in mysterious cuts and bruises.
Charm:When you've spent as much time navigating people's deepest wishes and desires as Scarlett has, you begin to acclimatize yourself to how the mind works with lust and desire. Scarlett, with a little use of power, has mastered these techniques and has become quite a charming individual. For example, if she wants to persuade someone then she would simply imbue some of this power into her words and they would be nodding their head in agreement in no time! Of course, this works with anything that she has an input on and thus, the weakness is that it only works on those who would be susceptible to this power and that she cannot directly alter someone's decision, just make her side of it appear to be very worthwhile.
The most obvious use of this would be for spying as she can make most people lust for her given some time and a little breathing-space. Once you have someone craving you, it's pretty easy to get them to confess whatever it is you're looking for. Obviously, this can get pretty pesky when she, on occasion, accidentally charms an individual and has to deal with said consequences.
Skills:As mentioned earlier, Scarlett has received enough training to qualify as a combat-ready Meta. She's mastered one or two martial arts, including Muay Thai, and has even tried her hand at going to tournaments for things like MMA. The desire to learn these forms of combat was born from the want to make her father proud and it only drove her to points were normal humans would give up. Apart from fighting, she has limited social skills and lacks the ability to form meaningful relationships so she generally never talks about feelings or anything squishy like that.
Equipment:Nothing of note really - she will occasionally arm herself with a small gun and she is very capable of using this but she's not the sort of girl who goes out to kill people everyday. Generally, her powers are enough to get her by and if not, hand-to-hand combat is much more preferable.
Ranking: A-B?
Brief History:Life can be very difficult when you're a widowed single father, trying to care for a young daughter who constantly demands to know where her mother is and when she's coming home. Her mother never came back though, and her father only darkened as the months went by and the sickness eating away at their relationship grew stronger. Scarlett was unlike a lot of girls her age, who worried about boys and if their butt looked too big in a particular set of jeans. She worried about her father, primarily, and if he would ever just try end it all and leave her well and truly alone.
In an attempt to brighten him up, she took up defensive courses and soon moved onto martial arts, which did honestly begin to build some bridges between them. He could finally be proud of her, or at least that's what she thought, so she continued on down that road. Things brightened up for them - her dad learned to move on with his life and even found new love.
Things, as things normally go, did not want to stay the same. When the first wave of powers hit, her and her father were one of the few that went under the radar upon gaining their powers. It was very hard to notice the gifts they possessed, after all. Gifts, however, quickly turned to curses and their lives became difficult. Her father used the dreams to retreat back into his own private world were things were the same as they used to be. Very slowly, he unhooked himself from reality to the extent that he could barely even recognise his own daughter from the virtual one.
Then the first string of murders emerged - her father could increase the power and the quality of his 'dreamstate' but only if a certain sacrifice was made. An eye for an eye; a dream for a dream. Then one day, her life turned upside down. Her father was splattered all over the news, branded as a homicidal-maniac who needed to be put-down. He would have too, if it wasn't for the fact that Avalon became operational. Scarlett had no choice - they would find out about her powers too when they came looking and they would lock her up too. So, she did the natural human thing and she ran away from it all.
Just for some information, Nightmare is currently residing in Avalon but he's not in the sleeper facility. I'll reveal more later but one could definitely compare him to Cerberus.
