The messenger hawk, which flew above, landed on the edge of the fortress, behind Carnage, and sqwaked to get his attention. It waited for a responce and took flight again. As it flapped its wings, Alexander's voice echoed from the winds it had picked up. "Come for me prodigy. I am waiting, and bring fire." The message was simple and short, after which, the bird fell over and died. Its corpse pointed the way to the city, and even from several miles away, across the deadlands, the bright city lights could be seen, looming on the horizon.
Meanwhile, in NYC, Alexander's defenses were going swimmingly. Snipers were possitioned in rooftops, many human soldiers were offered nanosuits, and given the opportunity to fight alongside their own race, without fear of penalty from alexander. Along with that, the new jets were ready for takeoff, and practicing several sweeps, to obliterate an offensive line. Tanks rolled up and down the streets, powered by undead magic. Mobile AA machines stretched from "Times Square" to "Grand Central." There were a total of 4 destroyers and one battleship in the docks. Alexander's personal guard was increased by at least a dozen walkers, and 2 especially strong looking abominations, armed with shotguns, and chainsaws.
"What is the status on those mines? Were they dissabled to allow the human soldiers in our walls to rejoin their commander?" Alexander asked his trusted messenger. The messenger still did not understand Alexander's ways, but answered honestly.
"Yes sir. Everything you have requested has been done Captain Redblood." Alexander winced at the name. "Fetch me my shield and sword. I predict the humans shall arive by sunrise tomarow." He said. "Find any fresh food, and make sure the citizens are fed. As for our troops, tell them all to be on full alert tonight, in case of a sneak attack." There was a pause before Alexander looked to his messenger and asked his final question. "Is the cruise missile operational yet?"
"Yes Captain. But why do you wish to point it at the tower. Yes, you are guaranteed to kill anything inside, including the prodigy, but that also includes yourself and your entire guard!"
"Dont you see? Thats the point. I will do my duty as Captain, and win this cursed war. Then, i shall finaly have the burrial i deserve." As he finished his scentence, his messenger walked out, and his larger guards handed him his weapons. "When i give the signal..." Alexander says to one guard. "You launch that missile."
