Good points, this makes sense.I was just curious as to why such a difference in reactions.
It also seems like every time you come back here, you always bring up how some people seem to be treated better than you and how hard it is for you to get traction here.
My advice? Stop bringing it up and reminding people of things you did (or do, depending who you talk to) that soured their disposition in the first place. People can change, and the biggest mentality I think you need to adopt is that not everything needs to be a serious discussion. People like to post here because it's more laid back and people can post opinions or topics without worrying about it turning into a multi-page debate of sorts. Crack a few jokes, treat it more like a hangout spot than somewhere for hard discussion, and try to avoid stepping on people's toes and I think you'll be a-okay.
As for why nobody's tearing 8 a new asshole, it's partially that this the first time, to my recollection, he's posted anything like this and he's been around long enough that people know him and are willing to let there be some rope instead of turning it into a stomping ground, which usually only happens if somebody keeps poking the bear, so to speak, like a certain individual who shall not be named since we don't speak of the damned who was told repeatedly to stop spamming gifs everywhere and then provoking arguments when people were getting fed up with it until they ate a ban. I assure you, if 8 kept this up, he'd be quickly eroding goodwill from anyone who's willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Realize that every case is different, and with you, you have a reputation for getting involved and bringing up controversial discussions. Show that that's not all of who you are and keep OT behaviour separate from in here and I think you'll find things a bit different.
I mean, I personally have no ill-will towards you. Don't think you're fighting an uphill battle for acceptance. Just resist the temptation to get into heavy shit and keep a good attitude and people will look at that as who you are. We all fuck up from time to time, it's how we pick ourselves up afterwards and own up to our mistakes that matter. I've made my share of blunders and I'm still around.
