Listing every detail about a faction's military forces in a nation sheet is an unreasonable expectation.

Which is why I just gave a quick overview. Plus if there is issues with a certain unit or weapon later in the RP it is easier to retcon.

> Automatically assumes one's fighters would be simply of superior quality to the Septonian fighters

> Automatically assumes he gets to do massive damage

This is why I don't engage in the naval firing line school of warfare and instead go for the WWII carrier doctrines in space.

Varren goes to orbit the battle and try to take out the second threat, while the Explorer, which is very heavily armored, moves to take out the smaller ship that is obviously ready to battle. Explorer's most forward sections are the most heavily armored; there are no shield arms, just some really thick plates of advanced armor. The kind of armor that you wouldn't destroy with a couple hits, mind you.

And, I didn't quite expect to have so much damage done by the particle cannons/lasers, that was Kyelin's doing. The Explorer is more to keep fighting, despite all damage taken, but not to dish out so much damage.

Sorry if that's too op for you. They would have better tactics, but they just now had to fight anything. They've been reclusive for hundreds of years; they've had nothing to fight against, no reason to develop advanced tactics.

Also, what is everyone's specialty? The area that they excel in, which everyone else couldn't best in a fair, equal fight, for example, an Explorer Dreadnought with Valkian armor would be superior to the armor on another Dreadnought, while another Dreadnought, say Duck's, might be unmatched in variety of weapons, while say, Kyelin's Dreadnought would be unmatched in combat options, because he can instantly communicate or act as a defensive ship or etc.

We need to have a list of what we're good at, and what we're bad at, otherwise we'll all end up being OP or powergaming at one point or another. Now am I stupid, or right?

Hey man, I don't expect every unit to be listed and detailed, but I feel specific specialty units need to be at least mentioned.

This is what I mean. I don't mean everything listed, but prominent stuff, like those fancy supermagesoldiers or your ships that you'll primarily be using.

Here, I'll even go first with my most prominent ships:

Explorer-class Dreadnought
Only seven of these have been built, and will remain built, until one falls or total war is required.
Specialty: Armor
-The Armor is of latest grade, advanced type, and far thicker than what anyone would usually put on their ships. No shields, but the armor makes up for that. Armor can rearrange itself by a system of arms, tracks, and tractor beams to cover up or remove damaged plates of armor.

Weapons: Swarmer Missiles, The Sentience Bane, Particle Laser Cannon [The +1 means there is an extra that can replace a damaged one]
[x6] Swarmer Missile Turrets, to fire a load of up to 100 missiles that split apart into a small anti-armor and a small high explosive warhead, for use on debris or small enemies, or for collective damaging on a larger target. Four are equidistant around the circumference halfway down the ship, and two are stationed near the rear to protect engines. Rear turrets are rarely fired in combat, and have a much smaller ammunition reserve than the other turrets.
[x2+1] Particle Laser Cannons, stationed on the front of the ship to fire at anything in a 200 degree radius. The two lasers often scissor their target, in a default attempt to cut a ship in half. Powerful, but limited in use.
[x1] The Sentience Bane is a special superweapon of the Valkians, rarely used. It interferes with high-traffic brainwaves, and will slowly destroy organic data. Anything that is living and has a brain and nervous system will find itself mindless and empty. Only the very base instinct will remain. To temporarily disable someone, it must be fired for a straight 5 minutes. This causes damage, but can be reversed with time and technology. To completely kill a mind beyond repair will take up to 10 minutes. However, for as long as it must be fired, it must be charged the same amount. If it charges for only 7 minutes, it will only fire for 7 minutes. The weapon acts as a general-direction beam to the front of the ship. Anything within a certain distance inside the cone will be damaged. It has been used for mass genocide in the Valkians' backstory.

Varren-class Battlecruiser
While another nation's Battlecruiser may be the size of another Cruiser or smaller, a Valkian Battlecruiser is simply a somewhat smaller Dreadnought with more emphasis on weapons than armor. While still heavily armored, it has more weakspots, and is overall thinner and less protected.
Specialty: Long-range barrage, medium armor
- Has a total of 20 dual-barrel turrets, ten on the top, ten on the bottom. There are five on the top right side, five on the top left side, five on the bottom right side, and five on the bottom left side, all in a row down its length. Armor can shift, though not as much as the Explorer, and is heavy when compared to ships hat are shield-oriented.

Weapons: Swarmer Missiles, Bombardment Railguns
[x2] Swarmer Missile Turrets, one mounted in the middle of the railguns on the bottom, and another mounted in the middle on the top for full coverage.
[x20] Bombardment Railguns are dual-barreled turrets that use advanced rounds that can alter its course in transit. These rounds are, like Swarmer missiles, a mix of anti-armor and high explosive. While the rounds may not penetrate like another, it will cause damage, because the front will attempt to pierce armor, and the back will explode as it entires the pierced hole, and tear open a hole.

That's a good idea.

I'll put my main fleet advantages and specs up when I get home.

Stealth fighters aren't really a specialty unit within the Eternal Union. Regular fighters have been replaced by them, with heavy fighters being more of a specialty unit.

Not stupid or right, but it's non-applicable for my faction.

I hope you realize that a 'stealth fighter' isn't supposed to be an invisible fighter, but simply one that can't be targeted very easily, has very, very low heat signatures, and is practically undetectable by general radar.

I know, Duck. A lot of things that shouldn't be the same thing are the same thing to you.

For example, superior and magic are the same thing, to you. Everyone else just recognizes magic as a very versatile energy form.

Is it safe to leave the bomb shelter yet, or are they still at it?

Anyhow, I cant really detail most anything about my military because... Well, you know...

The concordant has excellent special operations and fast attack units. Fast hard hitting offensives are our speciality along with special operations/ forces raids. We don't have alot of units but we can "fuck some shit up"

Hehe, true enough. Brings out a good old agent Smith feeling...

"I want everything!"
"Would that include a bullet from this gun?"
"Go ahead, shoot. The best thing about me is there's always more of me"

Ethereals have two main advantages: immortality and multi role ships. They aren't afraid to be 'killed'. And their ships are able to change roles. Their main disadvantages are the long wind up from FTL travel, making them vulnerable at arrival destinations, and the fragility of their ships, due to not caring about losses
