When originally fighting the Ethereals there was heavy fleet losses, and assuming that there are other enemies more ferocious it uses many more ships, usually heavily armed, to compensate for it.

I dont think that would be too convincing, they have other allies and can make other allies that will help them with those threats. Unless there are formal peace talks and a declaration of guilt, I doubt anything will come of overhearing that.

What about the whole ignored attempts at diplomacy and then laughed at the attempts to communicate, and also ignored warning shots and landed shuttles, which is by any reasonable defention considered a invasion? The EU has video and audio proof of that as well. Both parties are to blame here.

They dont understand your language and are immune to your "spell". You approach a dazed and scared crew and they tell you to go away. So you get a loud speaker and play the same message on repeat, so they tell you to shut up. This is funny to the crew who is already in a shit situation, which is met by opening fire.

Different species respond to magic differently, your "translation spell" just registered as an odd feeling in their minds. Possible magic resistance? Maybe sensitivity?! Only time will tell in the RP. When we were on New Condia, I typed that they didnt recognize it.

Mine are immune, because I don't want you taking the easy way for everything. Same thing for him. Different biologies, different races. It may work with brains that are very similar, but the Septonians might have an entirely different brain structure, and without knowing, spells wouldn't work. Same with Valkians, in my opinion.

YOU are at fault for half the wars you're in; the only one you're not at fault for is the Draconians and the Etherals. The Etherals wanted to take something from your colony; barred them. That's understandable. The Hivemind asked you for food; you said no, you're all monsters, go away. The Septonians crashed- when they were too scared and too frightened to respond to your attempts, you decided to instead shoot them, instead of giving them room. You decided to INVADE humanity, so that's your fault.

Merfolk would hardly change anything in the war. Trying to shift the blame away from yourself won't change anything, and all it does is lower the reputation that you have with other nations.

EDIT: And if those shuttle pilots are a representation of what people do when they've got an active hostile race aboard their very small ship, then you WILL fail EVERY single battle.
