Yay the OOC is finally up! May I suggest for the first post that the setting be on a train ride to Hogwarts at the start of a new year. I'm thinking that since our first posts will be about how our characters met everyone else, it might be nice to have them sitting in the same compartment on the train and we can simply go around and explain how they met eachother? just a thought ^^

i have backstories with Adelie, Zef and Calvin so Stella and Rin need some kind of history. @Thought Manifest lets get on that ^^

General Traits: Being a complete numpty and bothering anyone and everyone who isn’t in Slytherin house, in order to be cock of the walk in Slytherin. A teacher’s pet for any teacher who sympathizes with Slytherin, and a pain for any teacher that doesn’t. He thinks he’s God’s gift to women, and every boy at the school wants to be him. He took a special liking to teasing Adelie, being the boy who dared her to swim in the Black Lake, knowing ahead of time she might die. Also the Slytherin beater who knocked her out of the sky 5th year. He holds a special but silent grudge against each of Adelie’s friends for rescuing her in any way from his various attempts to harass her, including Zamir for knocking him about, Stella for disarming him when he was about to hex Adelie, and Calvin for rescuing her from the Black Lake. He’s just having to have a grand time after all. He is intelligent in his own way, enough to know exactly how to bother Adelie and her friends in specific ways, but otherwise completely stupid.

I'm at work right now, so when I get home tonight - or tomorrow before work - I'll be able to give better responses with fewer risks of Swype/autocorrect typos.

So far Stella's connection to Adelie is disarming Lugnut in year 3 when he tried to hex Adelie. It was one of those instances where she just followed her itch to be somewhere at a certain time without understanding why until she saw Lugnut pull his wand.

Any other connections with the others could be more of the same where Stella was just in the right place at the right time or Adelie could have introduced them or there could be some other reason behind the connection. Did any of the rest of you have other ideas?

Backstories don't have to be in the IC, just thought it'd be nice to have them here just so everyone is on the same page. I agree that the first place should be involving the train. Probably the first post will be leaving home+boarding the train+sitting down and greeting everyone.

I've edited Stella's sheet to include her meeting Adelie as well as to fix a typo I noticed where I accidentally called her familiar Orion in the biography when his name is Oberon. Just need to figure out how she met the others before I can include that as well.

Nevermind, do you have a plot idea in mind, or are we still brainstorming options?

Obviously I have vague ideas but nothing is set in stone.

We kind of have two options;
1) Just go through a typical school years with all the normal trials and tribulations that people face. Few big issues dotted here and there, but nothing near the scale of the HP books or anything like that.
2) Have a significant plot where we face big, worldwide issues.

If you guys would prefer the latter, a Death Eater resurgence could be cool (predictable in some ways, but cool nonetheless), with our own twist on it. It would mean that if we eventually get to the point where the characters leave the school, there would be still plotpoints to follow. I have more ideas around this but as I said I'm flexible.

I kind of like the idea of #1. I think a slice of life for the most part would be fun, but big issues to break up any monotony. Like the occasional brush with danger and possible death to bring everyone together now and again. Maybe that's somewhere between 1 & 2? Idk.

I like it.
Maybe some corruption inside of Hogwarts, but on a larger scale than before... perhaps the Death Eaters are making a return, and there are already some on the inside.

And of course, either way, we will be spending most the time doing normal stuff, just it may end up pretty intense later on.

Zef
Rin first met Zef when she was facing off against the Slytherin Quidditch team with Adelie. After witnessing him defend her best friend against a bully who tries to physically harm her with a bludger two times in a row. As Keeper for the team, Rin was not in a place to help her friend, and was ecstatic after seeing she was okay. 'Til this day, Rin goes out of her way to do small nice things for Zef in an attempt to thank him for being there when she could not. Though she doesn't speak about it, not being there to protect Adelie when she needed is something that causes Rin great sadness. She will forever fell indebted to Zef for saving her friend who is more like a sister in her mind. Over time the two would grow very close, both becoming highly skilled in DADA and eventually becoming friendly rivals which caused them to start spending a lot of time together dueling and trying to finally break the draw that has drawn over for a few years. During this time, Rin slowly began to develop a crush on Zef, admiring even the little things about him, which has her a bit uneasy around him now. Though she plans to confess to him this year, she rather take things slow and figure out if he likes her as well before she does.

Adelie
The only way to describe Rin's relationship with Adelie is by using the terms 'big sister/little sister' in which case Rin is the little one. After meeting in Diagon Alley, the two wouldn't come to really know each other until Adelie comes to Rin's rescue during a thunderstorm. This one small act of kindness would be one of the first Rin would recieve from the girl during their time together at the school. Both having been housed in Gryffindor, eding up as roomates, and competing on the same Quidditch team, it was only natural that the two ended up best friends. Their bond has held strong over the past few years, despite Rin's overly carefree and Adelie's serious personalities. The two are practically inseparable and enjoy talking about giving Zef a love potion, or perhaps a haircut...

Calvin
Rin met Calvin through Adelie during their first year. It was after Rin and Adelie became close friends that she was informed the boy saved her friend from drowning in a lake, and has since admired his bravery in tough situations. Though he can be a bit reckless and uptight, Rin takes it upon herself to keep him down to earth and often tells him to relax and take things slowly; as they come. Rin likes that he is just a genuinely good spirit and couldn't help but gravitate towards him, seeking a friendship. The two are close enough to be called great friends, and for the most part, trust each other for helping them move forward towards their ultimate goals.

Stella
A struggle with grasping Divination would bring Rin to meet Stella during her third year at Hogwarts. Though normally very studious, Rin had a tough time grasping the concepts that were taught in the class. This had caused her to lose a great deal of interest in it, but after realizing it was something very important for her to learn, she began to seek for help. Enter the beautiful Stella, whom Rin had recognized from her DADA class, and was also the student with the highest grade in the class. After Rin asked the girl for help studying the concepts of Divination, the two struck a deal. Stella would tutor Rin in Divination and Rin would tutor Stella in DADA, which was the other girl's weakest class. Through their times studying together, the two girls just clicked, having similar personalities. Though it has been expressed that Stella does not like rin's bluntness at times, its a little harder for her to change such a habit. Despite this, the two have grown very close.

Well, I've spoken with everyone. Could develop more with some people, but I have got some basic ideas here. Will just write a small summary of Calvin's opinion on them.

Adelie
Reliant on her consistency in some ways. Differs greatly in decision making, but considers her views often. (Pulled her out of the lake, became friends soon after.)
Rin
Values her opinion. Relies on her calmness in stressful situations. Someone who helps him relax. (No complex history, met in a class once and just got on well. Mutual friend with Adelie.)
Stella
Appreciates her friendliness. Respects her resilience in arguments and ability to turn the other cheek. (Met when they were paired together on a Care for Magical Creatures project.)
Zef
Relates as a male. Finds it easy to speak open to him as they've both spoken about their pasts together whilst he rarely speaks of his childhood with others. (Possibly met in DAtDA during Boggart lessons. Saw that they were similar in many ways.)

Hard to write a big chunk of text for this sort of thing in this context, just wanted to give people a loose idea of Calvin's opinion on everyone. Individually, you all know in more detail what his thoughts are.

Calvin
Sometimes admires his risk taking as he’s braver than she is in some ways, other times scolds him about putting himself in danger incessantly. Has her loyalty and is very comfortable around him, even when just sitting in silence. (Met when he pulled her from the lake, Became friends hanging out over time)

Stella
Loves her friendliness and approachability Adelie feels she lacks at times, as well as admiring her academic excellence and distaste for bullies. She is skeptical of her seer abilities, but just chooses not to bring it up. (Became friends when Stella intercepted a hex about to be put on Adelie)

Zef
The only Slytherin she thinks is worth anything. Sometimes gets embarrassed by his bluntness, but other times is grateful for his honesty. Finds herself worrying about how forgiving he is, and how he might get hurt. (Became friends when he stood up against Lugnut for her after a quidditch game)

Rin
Adelie’s Gryffindor bestie, she is like a big sister to Rin, with Rin dragging her about into various situations Adelie pulls them both out of. Adelie finds herself sometimes bossing Rin around in order to focus her, while Rin helps her relax. (Met in Diagon Alley, Became friends when Adelie rescued Rin who was lost in a thunderstorm)

Adelie Hurst

Feelings: Admires Adelie's loyalty and protectiveness. Disappointed that Adelie doesn't believe her seer instincts are real.

Calvin Magnussen

Met: 3rd Year; Care of Magical Creatures class though friendship started through Adelie
Feelings: Respects Calvin's intellect and academic abilities. Empathizes with his drive to follow his instincts though that's something she hopes they can work on together.

Rin Zephyr

Met: 3rd Year; Divination class though friendship started through Adelie
Feelings: Respects Rin's ability to be unphased by stressful situations. Admires Rin's ability to be herself despite others' negative opinions. Concerned by her bluntness.

Zef Raco
