And for the training of Guardians, I guess it depends on how you were trained and by whom. Nyirr, for example, has been brought to fight in the war against Malfear and since then has always worked as a group and never alone or a duo. Nyirr isn't so great in one vs one because of his inherent training in larger groups of at least 4-5 people.
Kotori, on the other hand, was trained to protect her Mage and defend him as best as she can, which means she has an easier time coordinating with one or two teammates and defeating a smaller group of people efficiently.
This sums it up pretty nicely. Each guardian is going to have a different set of skills from the next, depending on thier experience. Guardians who have experience with war would probably be more accustomed to the claustrophobic settings of a battlefield, whereas guardians who spent most of their career protecting someone would have excellent small group fighting skills. It varies from guardian to guardian and really whatever history you gave your characters will play the biggest role.

I don't think they get anything vs constructs. I mean, if I make my water dragon and have it charge Kotori (sparring, of course), it's the same as if I grabbed a torrent of water and hit her with it. They're immune to magic, but physical objects being controlled by magic are still a problem. You're immune to magic, but Sir Isaac Newton will still kick your teeth in.
This.
However I just realized I left out a bit of information in the OOC (I just plain forgot to add it). Remember the ritual that Guardians undergo to gain their immunity to magic? It's called the Ritual of Sealing, and guardians are taught this to some extent after their initiation is complete. They can't make full fledged Guardians (by reversing the bridge), but by themselves they can render a mage unable to wield magic for a time, and in groups guardians can completely sever a person's bridge using the ritual.
*The process to completely sever a person's bridge is too complex for any single Guardian, but closing it for a time is plausible, the length of which depends on the skill of the Guardian and how long said mage was under the affects of the ritual.*
So Guardian's serve duel purposes. The first being to protect the mage they are grouped with and the second purpose is to keep that same mage in check.
On the subject of Constructs, or beings with magical energies flowing through them to enable functionality, a Guardian could probably break the link between construct and caster using the Ritual if he/she had an opening. The exact process of the Ritual is fairly open, as I havn't really defined it yet, but it does require time and concentration. Requiring more of both depending on the target, so severing a constructs link to a caster would be easier then severing a mages link to the nether.

Although it brings me to something odd... Do Illusions work on Guardians? I know that the mind reading and that kind of mental attack/domination wouldn't work, but what about actual illusions? Are Guardians still duped by them?
No, an illusion would have no affect on a guardian. So a mage using illusion to trick people into seeing her 'disguise' wouldn't work on a guardian, but a mage using alchemy to physically change thier body could get past the same guardian. (Other players won't be able to do this, at least not this early into the RP as it's out of any players skill level, and few if any villanious NPCs could.)
For a competent Mystos mage knowing mind control it would be too easy to dominate someone's mind, and have them draw their blade and stab thier lord in the back. For this very reason Guardian's are usually sought after bodyguards and often make up the numbers of a King or Queen's personal guard. Whereas mages a far more feared, the role of a Guardian is usually considered a great prestige in the Five Kingdoms.
If it seems like I'm adding things as we go I apologize, the more questions you guys ask the more I have to refine the world, haha. Which isn't a bad thing.
