I always, always object to mute characters. They create pointless contention between RPers without giving much in return. It's especially bad if we're looking to create relationships between characters.

It depends on the skill of the roleplayer.

Personally, I really like Stitches' character, and I agree with Stitches' notion that Espurr doesn't need to be able to speak to communicate his desires to join the guild. I myself have never actually worked in a roleplay with a mute character so I have no idea how it will turn out, but I am willing to give it a try.

Also, Kiddo, I wouldn't go so far to say most of the cast are "bumbling idiots". The cast is more naive than anything. XP

I've never played with a mute character and am rather weary as Kiddo seems to have strong feelings against it, however, it sounds like you have heavy developement in mind already and you're right, it does depend on the player. I could see a nice bit of comedy coming from someone who could play a mute without creating awkward, one-sided issues. Would he be able to communicate through telepathy as Meowstic at some point? I'm thinking no, but just curious.

Iunno XD I'd hate there to be conflict between the players but I don't want to judge before I see how the player handles such a character. Would there be anything that would ease your mind with a mute character, Kiddo?

I usually take part in very high casual/advanced RPs, and I've roleplayed several mute characters before in the past, with success - it all depends on the amount of description you put into a reaction.

For example, give Espurr a lemon to eat and he doesn't like lemons:

Espurr frowns after eating the lemon

Espurr seems to try and inhale his lips with the sheer sourness of the lemon, recoiling in horror and dropping the fruit onto the dusty floor. For good measure, he kicks it away from him.

Clearly, I'm sure you can see which one was clearer to interpret!

Now, as for meowstic, when he evolves he'll be able to speak, and that'll be a shocker for everyone. So it's not even permanent! Of course, that'll take a while in and of itself; you're going to have to get used to seeing Espurr as Espurr before I can even think of evolving him.

Whether or not Kiddo approves of the idea of a mute character is irrelevant until he's been able to witness it first-hand, and hopefully I'll be able to impress him.

1. After discussing it with Ace of Jacks, we decided it'd be good (if it's okay with everyone else) if Timothy and Lilith paired up for this mission.

2. Espurr is going to put the guild back at 9 again, meaning we're probably going to have to make a group of three after all.

Actually, anyone could help with the book, in fact, it's probably better if Timothy DOESN'T help with it. No arms, thick and stubby legs, big and heavy... those are words you might use to describe someone who can't operate a bookshelf.

EDIT: That being said, I think it might be a good time to get something started between them. I'ma write something up right now.

Well Franklin is the odd one of the four remaining as I believe the rest have more worldly experience, Abby and Espurr are the same type..hmm...

As far as what Russet would do, I still would like Lilith to get to know all the members in time, not just who she's partnered up with so it would be nice for him to help her n_n
