I'm glad you think so. I was kinda afraid you were going to say he was too creepy for Kir-Kon.

So, what happens at this point?

Uhh... I'll do it. I've got an idea for how to begin already. It may take a day or two, though. Depending on how motivated I feel, and what other ugly distractions rear their heads.

I'm glad you liked mine!

Your's was... quite depressing, but I suppose that was kind of the point. I'm taking a bit of time to think about how I want the King to find your character, and whether or not he should go all the way into the village first. The fact that your character (presumably) wouldn't be scared of him would probably go a long ways towards getting him to stick around.

I sorry it's so depressing. . . .*Sads all over the place* I can't wait for him to get better *Grin* Kir-Kon would be more curious than scared. Since only weak monsters can come close, and your guy obviously packs some power, he would find the situation quite bizarre. Staying in the woods or following Kir-Kon home both have their merits, so I have no real preference on the matter. *Envisions Kir-Kon running away into the wood and the King jumping out to snap at the pursuers* Heheh, funny scared young people. . .

EDIT: Also, did you notice the double post of yours?

Hmm... Okay. I think I know what I'm going to write. Unfortunately, I need to leave for work, and there's a Halloween party this evening. So, tomorrow, I guess.

I like it! So, should Kir-Kon find him out in the woods now, or would you rather have a few more posts of them apart?

Uhh... Your choice. Just know that Kir-Kon isn't going to take him by surprise, and he's going to be quite wary of people after that latest experience. But he's too... indignant at the moment to run, now that the ward has weakened, and he can fight for himself again.

I should probably throw in that, after the shape shift, the King is probably about as tall as Kir-Kon right now. Maybe taller. :)

Do you think that the people would know anything about the magic that keeps their village safe? They can't feel it, and I think we decided that they don't know anything about magic, they only have superstition. We can leave Kir-Kon's references to the ward if you want, but I thought I'd go ahead and bring it up for future knowledge.

I would think that the elder knew, and told him about it, along with the one who became elder after her. The people I can agree don't know anything about magic, but could we say it something like a legend for them? They know there are bigger monsters out there from traveler's tales, and they think that they just live in a well protected spot or something :P The elder was one who trusted the legend and told it as fact to Kir-Kon, and simply passed it on to the new elder as tradition demands. Does that work?

lol You sound surprised.

Yeah, it'll work. It is reasonable to think that the villagers would believe something was keeping the animals away from them, since they know they are out there, but the most dangerous thing that finds its way into the village uninvited is a field mouse, or equivalent. I think they would probably believe it is maintained by some superstitious action of theirs, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't believe it existed. But I like that they think of it more as a wall than as a gradient. Ultimately, I don't really care so long as it is logical.
