No time to talk now, but I forgot to mention. The golems have no brain. The main character goes into a coma state, and BECOMES the golem, while the body is left to be taken care by the assistant/the new character as they carry the human body around.

We kinda forgot to cover the racism bit yesterday... Racism isn't all that much of a problem, thats more of a newer issue. For the most part, those who have any racial differences tend to reside in the same places, and as such that issue is generally replaced by nationalism and cultural bias. (rather than black hate white, you have Kalnachi hating Kalesians)

We're going to agree with @Fallen on the bit about finishing one PC and playing with that for a while before crafting a full cast of others.

Name: Jana Karchak

Age: 30

Gender: Female

Faction/Allegiance: Kalesian Empire

Relic Description: The relic itself is a metallic, circular plate roughly half an inch thick and the size of a palm. It is engraved with strange writing, but it is not visible, as it has fused itself to the base of Jana's skull. Initially, it was fused to her skin, but her scales have since grown over it.

The relic's primary effect has been constant, unstoppable, and irreversible for Jana. Over time, it has morphed her body into that of a reptilian creature that is larger and more massive than a human being. She has considerable strength, speed, and endurance, with a tough hide and a fierce bite. The relic's only other effect is to allow her to breathe fire, an ability powered by solar energy. Currently, she is capable of roughly five bursts of flame in a short timespan before needing to recharge.

Appearance:
(Roughly the size of a horse)

Flaws:

Jana lacks opposable thumbs, and while her fingers are dexterous enough to manipulate to grab objects to an extent, it is more difficult than before.

For reasons Jana does not understand, her relic will occasionally give her headaches. They range in severity from a minor annoyance, to crippling migraines that can all but incapacitate her. They are unpredictable and do not seem to need a cause.

The relic at the base of her skull is, quite literally, a sensitive spot on her body. Touching the location is uncomfortable for her, and enough pressure on it can put her in considerable pain.

As much as Jana tries to make the most of her new life, she has started to develop a pessimistic outlook on her future. She hates the loss of her humanity, and at times, can fall into depression and self-loathing.

Skills: Few of Jana's skills from before her transformation are usable in her new body. However, she is knowledgeable in combat and has learned through practice with Rebaine how to serve as an effective combat mount, as well as how to fight on her own. Since she is not guided in the same way as a normal mount, they have learned to pick up on cues from one another in combat to communicate their intentions.

Biography: Jana was born into a military family, and while not a noble, she was not exactly of low birth. Her family owned land and had enough wealth to hire others to work on it. However, for her and her siblings, it was their military training which was given the most focus, even early in their lives. They began their training at home, much earlier than most Kalesians. At first, they each received a general education, then specialized once their specific talents began to manifest. For Jana, that talent was with animals. One of the chief uses of her family's land was to raise, train, and maintain combat-ready mounts, including the ferocious bargal. For most of her training, she was restricted to using horses, but she did gain some experience with the bargal.

Given her prior experience, Jana advanced quickly once it was time for her to attend a military academy. She entered early, at around 10 years of age, and since she had learned basic combat skills long before even entering the academy, and she had no trouble passing required tests to be accepted for training to become a cavalrywoman. It was also not long after arriving that she began to make friends as well. There were a few groups we was acquainted with, but in particular, she befriended a boy named Rebaine, and later a young man named Roan. Over time, their specializations did serve to separate them. Rebaine intended to pursue the art of espionage, and while Jana and Roan were both cavalry, Jana was heavily focused on becoming an officer. Despite this, they all kept in touch, but for Jana, it was Rebaine that she went through the most effort to communicate with. Through the years, they had become close enough that Jana could not even entertain the thought of separating from her entirely. Although Jana would not admit it to Rebaine, it even caused her to change her career path. She still became an officer among Kalesia's cavalry, but instead of joining Kalesia's standing army, as was her original intention, she pursued a career in Kalesia's internal security against threats such as outlaws. She used every friend and connection she had to attempt to remain stationed reasonably close to Rebaine, and it was not long before this effort reached she had known she wanted, but could not admit to even herself. After ten years of friendship, they became lovers, which quickly resulted in their marriage a year after they graduated from the military academy.

For the next seven years, both Jana and Rebaine continued to pursue their respective careers, but they also did whatever they could to stay as close to one another as possible. Whenever one would be forced to move for a significant length of time, the other would do what they could to take a position close by. When their careers brought them close enough, they were able to live together under the same roof, but even when duty demanded they be apart, they visited as often as possible. It was not the most traditional marriage in any sense, but it worked well for a time. However, this changed with a fateful purchase two years ago that would shake to the core every aspect of Jana's life.

It was during a raid on a bandit camp that Jana was knocked from her bargal by a bandit who managed to get the jump on her. The bandit was killed with Jana being mostly unharmed, but her helmet had not been properly secured and had flown off, only to be crushed by her mount in the struggle. The battle ended without further incident, but there were still other camps in the area they needed to contend with, and Jana did not wish to fight with no head protection. She preferred her permanent helmet be made by a skilled blacksmith from the city, so during their next stop in the nearest village, Jana purchased a temporary replacement. Instead of a blacksmith, she purchased one from a traveling salesman which seemed like it would fit her head. As soon as she placed it on her head, however, there was a quick, painful sensation, after which she found she could no longer remove it. At the back of the helmet was a circular plate the size of her palm which had fused to the back of her head, near the base of her skull. It did not take long for her to realize that it was a relic. Just like her husband, Jana reported it to her superiors as soon as possible, but unlike Rebaine's quill, the effect of Jana's relic was much more severe.

Over a period of time spanning a few weeks, Jana's body began to shift in form. The change was drastic, and agonizingly painful. Every single bone that broke and reformed, every muscle that tore as it moved and grew, she felt. The helmet broke away from the metal plate after a few days, after which her skin shifted into scales and grew over the relic. Between the terrible pain and the horrifying physical changes her body was being forced through, there were many points during the transformation that her doctors could not say how she was even managing to stay alive.

After the transformation finally completed, Jana had lost almost all traces of her humanity. She still had her mind, and she could still produce speech, but there was nothing else that could indicate what she once was. Now, she was essentially an animal, something with no shred of hope of ever returning to a normal life. Since she was now an evoker, she still had a place within the Empire, but that was only a small consolation considering all she had lost. After the shock of the transformation wore off, Jana fell into a deep depression, but Rebaine had a more proactive reaction. After the initial panic he frantically searched for any and all information that might help Jana control this relic. Unfortunately, the search produced nothing in the way of useful information, but regardless, Rebaine's dedication did serve to help Jana in another way. While Jana had been ready to give up on life, Rebaine held hope that Jana's condition could be cured, and convinced her of it as well.

Jana's mind is still ravaged by pain, doubt, and depression, something which has cause her husband considerable frustration. She has certainly not returned to her former mindset, but after over a year of brooding, she has begun to find some measure of normality in her present condition. In recent months, she has even found herself feeling happy again, if only briefly. Now, she and Rebaine have set out to find the traitor, and their old friend, Roan. Jana shares her husband's anger towards him, however; the idea that, somewhere beyond Kalesia, they might find something to help with her condition is what truly motivates her.

Personality/motivation: Before her transformation, Jana could easily be described as a friendly, cheerful individual. She was not social in the sense that she liked to make as many friends as possible, but rather focused on forming deep bonds with a few close friends. As a soldier, she has no qualms with killing when necessary and can be brutal in a fight, but as her parents taught her, she can separate her profession from her personality. To her, being a soldier is her duty, and an honorable practice. While she can be merciless towards bandits and other outlaws, even an enemy soldier would receive respect from her. She loves animals and is generally compassionate. However, since her transformation, fear and depression have taken a hold of her mind. Those traits she has always held have not left her, and they do still shine through from time to time, but whenever her hope for the future falters, she quickly turns despondent. Now, the only things that seem to keep her going are her husband Rebaine, and her hope for a cure.

Relations: Jana is the wife of Rebaine, and a former friend of Roan.

Name:
Ardee Karchak (actual)

Thom Adonis (Assumed)

Age: 32

Gender: Female, but currently disguised as a Male, as she's well aware of the power the opposite sex holds in the lands outside Kalesia

Faction/Allegiance: Kalesian Empress(May she live forever)

Relic Description: Ardee's relic is a brown, short, quill pen, that does two things. One, it can permanently alter someone or something's looks and physical traits. The looks is fairly obvious. She dips her quill pen in someone and her own blood, and draws them a new body, clothing, and face. The traits she has to list to the side. For simple things such as 'strong' or 'fast', it only requires the first dip and she's done.For things like 'super humanly fast' or 'unnaturally strong' she requires more blood, a pint to be exact. For something as extravagant as 'can cast fire balls' requires more blood, at least 1 quart. The more powerful and extravagant, the more quarts required. It's easy for her to go back to normal, she just needs to smear the image in her note book with a bit of her blood and it will undo all the changes done. This can happen accidentally, if her drawing is destroyed or accidentally ruined. Having your body structure changed is painful. Very much so.

For changing things a simple as looks it only takes a dash of blood from each, and she can change hair and eye color, face structure, etc. For changing someone's strength, speed, height, or weight it requires a double the amount of blood required for simple change looks.

Supernatural changes, such as magic, Super strength, or unnatural speed are only 24 hours long, and require a 2:1 ratio for people other than herself.

Two, it can create simple 2D drawings that are given life and can report back to Ardee. Useful for intelligence gathering that would be too dangerous for her. The complexity of the drawing determines the quality of the intel. A simple flying eye can only give images. A small man can write out or speak the information. This too is made from her blood.

Appearance:

That's Ardee. Currently she looks nothing like that.

She looks like this:

Flaws:
Combat - Ardee has basic spear training from her time in the camp, so she can hold off your average street thug, but anyone more skilled has her beat. This includes hand to hand combat.
Sensitive - Ardee is very, touchy about the subject of rape, and her own self esteem. Sometimes violently so.
Doesn't like to be touched - Ardee tries to avoid people touching her at all costs.
Dislikes Murder - Ardee, despite all her training, prefers to avoid killing people, if left with any other choice.

Skills:
Artist - Even before she gained her relic, Ardee was a skilled artist, be it changing how she looks, or simple painting.
Actor - Ardee can fake just about anything, given the right tools.
Fast - Ardee is very quick, both in the traditional sense of running, and the not so traditional sense of with a spear.
Rough survival skills- She can cook her own meal, create simple snares, skin, and knows enough about plants to not eat the ones she's even unsure of. It won't be pretty, but she could eek out an existence in the wilderness.

Biography:
Ardee has never known her parents. Her mother died in childbirth, and her father was a foreigner who raped her mother then left. She grew up in an orphanage, feeling something was wrong with her despite repeated assurances that there was nothing wrong with her. How did she know she was a child of rape? Children are cruel. One of them had overheard the mother's explanation to the priestesses who ran the orphanage. The rumor was quickly made known and eventually, a few years later, thrown in her face. She was a child of rape, a result of the sick mockery of worship. At best she was unclean at worst she was a living insult to the Goddess, and thus, the Empress(May she live forever). At the age of 12 she decided the simplest thing to do would be to redeem herself by serving, and dying for, the Empress(May she live forever) in the military. Hopefully she could gain a redemption in death. During her time there, she met a young man named Roan. The two became friends, despite it being obvious they were going into different factions of the Kalesian military. Ardee's talents lay more in espionage and deceit, while Roan's was more suited for the mauler cavalry. They managed to stay in touch when they went their separate ways, primarily through letters, and meeting face to face when they could. It was an imperfect system, but one that worked nonetheless.

At that same military academy, Ardee met Jana and became fast friends with her as well. While she was close to Roan, Jana made the idea of dying in the service of the Emperor less appealing, pushing Ardee into the decision to join the espionage section of the military. Ardee didn't tell that to her, of course. She hadn't told either of her friends the real reason for joining the military, and wouldn't tell Jana until much later into their relationship. After years of friendship and an attraction everyone but they could see, they finally became lovers and soon after married. They made the marriage work as well as possible, trying to keep as close together as was reasonable, Ardee later using her status as Evoker to make this easier. Then everything changed when Jana got her relic.

After the initial panic and she was assured Jana wasn't killed by her Relic, Ardee started fervently scouring any and all archives and texts for a way to reverse the curse. She found none, but refused to give in, finding the perfect excuse later to search other lands for a cure.

Ardee actually discovered her Relic by complete accident(years before Jana's own relic find). She was researching in one of the libraries the Imperial Intelligence had and picked up a quill pen to write down notes from a book she was reading. . It was a peculiar sensation, to feel it bonding to her,and the silence was only broken by her heartfelt 'well, damn.' She couldn't do anything but report the event to her superiors, and be moved to another faction of the Empress's(may she live forever) military. As luck would have it, her Relic only increased her talents in the Imperial Intelligence force. Still, she spent some time learning how to control her new powers, and during that time, word of Roan Adonis's betrayal reached her. It was a hurtful, enraging blow. Upon learning of his betrayal to the Empress(may she live forever) and his subsequent escape, she begged her superiors the right to track him down with Jana and demand answers. Much to her relief, she was given that right. And much to her joy, they could now search the archives of other nations.

Personality/motivation:
Ardee is usually reserved and dignified, keeping her true emotions a secret from everyone but her closest friends. When you can put on emotions like most people put on clothes, you tend to stop showing your true emotions for everyone to see. She's mistrusting of new people, thinking that they might have an agenda that they aren't showing. However once she's sure you're not going to betray her, and you're a friend, she's fiercely protective. Ardee never had many friends and she treasures the few she does. Right now however, her confusion and anger aren't faked. Roan was one of the most loyal people she knew. And to hear of his betrayal was a blow she was not prepared for. She's more concerned with finding a way to help Jana than she is with actually bringing him in right now, but when they find them, she'll get answers. One way or another.

Relations:
She had a strong friendship with Roan Adonis before word of his betrayal reached her.

Personally, I'll wait till I can get a discussion with Ellri about it but right now this Relic seems far too powerful. I mean with it the entire Kalesian Army could be shooting fireballs with super soldier strength and skill. You could knock people out and make them look like other people by force or give them an ability that's damaging to others around them to get them killed.

Hell, find out what the King of Othea looks like and you can replace him with someone of your choosing.

Confirmed. Ellri is a hive-minded robot.

I think I'll work on the app when I get home. I'm inspired again, so I can start writing the others, alongside writing IC posts for Luitgard.

Question: Does anyone want to help me write my second app after I start with Luitgard? The one I talked about that can control golems. I was thinking they both share the same Relic, but whoever wants to help can convince me otherwise if they have a better idea.

<Snipped quote>

I think, in a slight way where a person is born and their loyalties might affect how they are treated in the other nations which is a type of racism. Most cause there's so many different types of humans that from my understanding, like in Kalesia, skin color is less of an issue compared to where you come from or what you practice. That if that was an important thing, then it could limit pictures used for PCS in my opinion as well as ideas. Though I can't image any of the nations naturally looking at everyone in a pleasant light. The closest would likely be Kalesia, though if someone's lazy and gains without earning anything by themselves than I can see most Kalesians frowning and becoming prejudice towards individuals rather than the whole. This makes it a changeable factor in some ways if the PC chooses to.

<Snipped quote>

I doubt it really as Evokers, unless their change is like Angie's where it occurs over time, look like any common human. That's why Idris has so much trouble seeking out and eliminating them, else it would've been impossible for anyone to hide from them. Though some nations might jump to the conclusion that s/he is an Evoker due to the circumstances which is common on our own history really.

<Snipped quote>

You'll have to tell the Gms, namely to help with balancing and such. Though that also makes it harder for anyone to help you completely with ideas and such unless you let them in on the secret, namely as it's easier to keep smaller secrets like hidden connections, relations, etc than powers.

I wouldn't mind a Werewolf, as I find mimic being a serious form of flattery as someone liked what I did and chose to put their own twist on it, though that would've made 3 already. Variety is the spice of life really though currently if this keeps up, we're likely to have a wolf pack on our hands. XD

<Snipped quote>

My advice, finish Luitguard and rp with her for a while rather than making a half a dozen PCs. Mainly we don't want you to risk getting overwhelmed with characters or worse, should RL creep up on you and life becomes busy than you might end holding up others without meaning to. I know cause I've seen and had it happen to me before. :p Though you could still write out the ideas, have the Gms look them over, and slowly intro them into the rp as time goes on like a side project.

<Snipped quote>

<Snipped quote by Ellri>

I can see that being possible, save the clockwork bit, else it would be more like Steampunk rather than fantasy medieval. Mainly I think it would take less energy to focus on 'animating' something small instead of creating a golem completely from scratch and give you some wiggle room. Though it shouldn't be of sentient intelligence but rather requiring commands, simple ones that are about 4 words max.

I suggest starting off with something small, taking less power to recharge, and could be 'turned off and on'. Maybe a small doll or ball could've been the Relic and could be animated as well used as the combative/defensive weapon? A ball might seem harmless, but having something whizzing among your feet, trying to trip you, smacking you in the shins, etc is very distracting when you're trying to catch/kill Evokers. As time goes on, the ball/toy could possibly gain new skills like maybe transforming into more offensive form though keep in mind the more drastic, the more energy needed for it. I would guess something along the lines of size changing into a crushing boulder like thing would take quite a bit of fuel compared to developing wooden spikes on the surface at will.

<Snipped quote by Teknonick>

Roan's claws can cut through basic armor so he could easily rip out its heart in a way. If heated and cooled rapidly it would also weaken the integrity of the metal depending on what it is and making it easier to damage it. However, for normal NPCs who aren't equipped to dealing with Evokers, or Evokers without any established abilities to combat it, it would impossible to beat unless they killed the Evoker.

<Snipped quote by Teknonick>

There's jewels and gems, which are classed as crystals in a way. In addition there could've been an Evoker who created a crystal material which could've saved your PC time and energy, but I still think the small animated object would've worked best. In addition shaping the golems would take massive energy as Ellri pointed out, both in creating, animating, and retaining its 'life'.

That's just my thoughts but might want to check with Ellri if it's possible though before having your heart set on it. Also, Ellri don't eat me. :P

We kinda forgot to cover the racism bit yesterday... Racism isn't all that much of a problem, thats more of a newer issue. For the most part, those who have any racial differences tend to reside in the same places, and as such that issue is generally replaced by nationalism and cultural bias. We're going to agree with @Fallen on the bit about finishing one PC and playing with that for a while before crafting a full cast of others.

we're essentially feeling that this RP isn't moving enough, and we've been burning ourselves out on GMing here. We've also been a pain to the people working on CSs. Thus we're very much considering putting this RP on hold, simply so that we can instead relaunch Aftermath, which isn't as heavy for us to GM.
