For those who do care

Been finding myself growing more and more distant from the guild. I never RP any more, nothing particularly interesting happens in Spam anymore, and I've been finding myself getting in more and more pointless fights. I feel like I've outstayed my welcome and it's time for me to take my leave. If anybody wants to stay in touch, I'll come up with something.

I'll stick around for a little bit(one more day), then I'm gone.

I find this kind of amusing in a way considering how you were harping on people using Skype to keep in contact instead of IRC. The point was that's where the community is, and why Spam's pretty much in zombie form.

I'm rolling back my participation in pretty much everything except for long-term RPs myself, so good on you for deciding to focus more time on stuff you feel is important to you, and I say that with utmost sincerity. I personally feel I've kind of outgrown a lot of the humour and group dynamics here and on Skype, so I figure it was time to gracefully bow out without making a scene. I still like most people and am always willing to chat, but I felt it was time to distance myself from the group dynamics as a whole.

I'll check in on Spam from time to time, but I've personally found my inspiration for participating lacking something fierce.

Being perfectly honest, if there weren't people I were friends with on the Guild I would have left about 3 years ago.
I've still mainly transferred to a more active community too though, but that's a lot more due to Guild Activity having shrunk since the old site died and me now having more time to kill as a result.

But yea, if you feel like you're better off leaving then honestly go for it. It's your life, do what you want.
I'm assuming any worthwhile friendships you made on the Guild you would be able to keep up even after leaving anyhow.

Though let's be honest, if spam isn't meant to be a random community then it's a community of people who know each other.
There is no set goal, topic or focus rather than 'spam/whatever you want' so it's more of a "This group of friends" page than anything.
While most forums have some focus but also have it as a group of friends.

Not that I've trawled even a fraction of the internet's forums, but I've gone through a few other roleplaying related sites and none of them had a forum with the same sort of community or forum as Spam.

I don't find Spam as interesting as I did in Old Guild. It's just been lackluster to me. I've been having more fun talking on some game/computer oriented IRC channels(admittedly, they have a hard time staying on topic as well. :) )
I've been working on learning Python, testing stuff for people in the IRC channels I hang out in, and working on getting a job to pay for college.

I haven't been in a roleplay for 4-5 months. RPG is the best role playing site I've seen, I'll give you that. But roleplaying just isn't as huge in my life anymore as it used to be. It was mainly a way(though I didn't realize it at the time ) to deal with my depression. Now I'm medicated and everything.

Maybe I'm just lucky with the Internet communities I run into then.
Then again my other communities aren't RP forums but large facebook groups, which might be playing a role in it.
