Alex - Roll of 8 +1 Hard +1 Melee = 10. Success!
The crowbar swung true and crunched the walker's skull, caving it in.
Charlotte grinned back at him, "So you did do that on purpose. This way, quick," she opened the door and, after a quick double take to ensure the back way was clear, stepped back into the sun. The alarm was still blaring away, and it had become an oddly welcoming sound. It covered the noise of the mobs that surrounded it, and it let her know that there was something louder and more attention grabbing than her around.
She kept looking back to make sure he was nearby as she trotted, quietly as she could, back the way she had come. She glanced once down the alley where she had met Alex, but didn't see him and so kept on jogging. It was probably a little less than half a mile, heading towards a more sub-urban area until she reached the cul-de-sac. The house they had barricaded was at the end, and she pointed it out to Bow Guy when it was in sight.
"Front door is barricaded, but Lee - that's the other guy I met - said he'd leave the back unlocked for us to get back."
They approached, cutting through backyards rather than risking the open street. She went first when they finally came to the two story house, and she pushed the door open, confident but with bat at the ready.
"Lee? I'm back, hold your fire. Bow Guy is with me."
