(All right, you tortured souls [reference] have been waiting long enough! Here's the post to start things off! I'm adding two characters (controlled by me) into the gray with another possible one coming in later, plus the numerous NPCs' in Heavenly Host so yeah)

A heavy rain poured against the almost blackened glass of the classroom, ambience growing as it echoed through the darkness. A lone flashlight shone a ray of light, almost holy in nature, up the face of one of the few students who sat in the circle of friends, who grinned an impossibly large grin. It was creepy, almost horrifying to some, as this side of him hadn't been seen by many. His eyes shone of an ocean deep blue, as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Hey, have you guys heard about the 21st of October?" Asks Jinta, a year 11 student at Kisaragi Academy, and a generally friendly and cheery young man. He's known mostly for his experience in martial arts and incredible strength, dexterity and overall physical fitness. When the other students shook their heads, he continued. "Well basically it's a little something that started up a week ago. You see, some of the students from class 2-9 came out of some kind of 'comatose', saying that some of their classmates were replaced and that everything was fake. Well, I'm here to tell you the story of one of those who were afflicted by this curse: Satoshi Mochida.

He told me how one dark October night, just like this one -- in fact it was exactly one week ago -- that he and his friends were transported to a horrible school known as Heavenly Host Elementary School: the predecessor of our school, Kisaragi Academy. Kisaragi was built on the very foundations of Heavenly Host, however that's not important. What's important is, through some sort of dark ritual, something that he wouldn't tell me the name of, he and his friends were taken to that very school that was demolished fifty years ago. Apparently, the people he thought existed were the few who died there, and that the place was filled to the brim with dead bodies, lost souls, and ghosts. He told me that if I ever found myself there, I'd need to do the best to protect the ones I loved. Or something. I'm missing a few key details but that's most of it."

"Jinta, that wasn't even remotely scary. We're telling scary stories not making things up on the spot!" Mayuri replies with a look of indifference. Jinta simply chuckles, shrugging at the remark.

"I felt like telling something a little more factual," Jinta adds in his defence, looking at Shirako, who was bobbing his head to the rhythm of some techno music. "At least it was better than what he could muster. A techno monster that eats your subs isn't quite what I had in mind as 'horror'. Also, it wasn't 'made up', because Satoshi told it to me!"

It was the 28th of October, and many of the class were in preparation of Halloween, as Mayuri had insisted on doing so as something fun. Tonight was a scary stories night, and everyone was pulling out the best they could offer... Well, almost everyone. Shirako was seated in the circle alongside Jinta, Mayuri and the other students, who were all in the process of coming up with the most horrific tales they could think of. Needless to say, it wasn't going too well...

"Have you ready the news paper lately?" Yosuke asked with his trademark slightly sad indifferent expression. "There's a killer on the loose, I think. They found two crime scenes with people kidneys removed, and hot tar in there eyes!" Yosuke whisper-screamed, trying to act as scared as possible over his obviously incredibly fake story. "I think it was around... Your neighborhood, Miyamoto-San!" Yosuke said, elbowing his "friend". "That's really scary, two serial killers on the loose!" Yosuke joked, making fun of Naomi's cold, calculating demeanor.

Naomi was only half listening to the bullshit story that her classmate put together from memory, suddenly she felt someone's elbow hit her side and she felt a sharp pain shoot down her leg, she pushed Yosuke for nudging her in her side," I'm not afraid of any fool that's gallivanting and performing amateur surgery on idiots, and last I checked the lastest murder was near your home not in my neighborhood." Naomi had on a look of disgust and anger.

But it soon diminished and she had on her usual cold demeanor and put a hand on her chin as if she was in deep thought about something, she rubbed her side where she was nudged. She was thinking about the murders that were happening and showed up in the news papers, Naomi mumbled under her breath something and let out a curse when she touched her side once again, she grimaced in pain of the past injury, then took her hand away from her side. Naomi glared at Yosuke," It would be a real shame if that killer snuffed out your entire family while your here making an ass of yourself Yosuke." Naomi told him.

"Whoa! No need to be so harsh, Naomi-San!" Jinta chuckles as he lies back on the cold floor, arms behind his head as he lay in a position that made it look as though he were about to sleep. "Hehehe! Hey, Shirako? Tell us what time it is, would ya?"

The techno junkie barely heard Jinta's call through his impossibly loud headphones that were blaring in his ears, and Jinta had to repeat his question just to get an answer from him. Taking out his phone, Shirako shows everyone the time that read in bright white: "9:37am"

"Man, we've been here way longer than we should've. Damn Halloween festival and our crappy clean-up crew." Jinta jokes with a grin towards his classmates, propping himself up on his elbows. "Well, I guess we should all get a move on, 'ey? Can't keep our parents waiting for much longer, that's for sure." He sighs, getting to his feet. However, just before Jinta was about to leave, Mayuri grabbed a hold of his hand quite firmly. "Hey, what the-?!"

Mayuri's usually calm and typically happy expression was currently changed into something of much sadness and grim. She didn't speak for a few moments, but before anyone could really ask as to what she was doing, she answered. "Guys... I didn't really call you all here to commemorate Halloween or tell scary stories..." She admits. "But rather... I'm... Well, considering we're all so close..."

"Spit it out, Mayuri." Jinta urges, looking somewhat concerned by the way Mayuri was acting.

"Well... I'm leaving Kisaragi Academy..."

"Wait, seriously?" Yosuke said, slightly concerned that one of his friends that was actually generally nice to him was leaving. "When? Why'd you drop this bombshell on us now?!?" Yosuke yelled, standing up. The floors creaked slightly under the stress, and thunder cracked across the skyline, shaking Yosuke back to reality. He cleared his throat in an attempt to regulate the atmosphere. "Sorry for flipping a little. Seriously though, why now? Did someone in your family get transferred or something?" Yosuke asked his friend, an underlying sorrow laden in his tone.

-Eien : Kisaragi Academy-

The boy stood near a window on that dreary October night, solemnly staring outside the window in wonder before returning his attention to the group. He kept his eyes and ears glued to the conversation at hand, despite the fact that he looked bored out of his mind. As he looked on, he listened to a tale, or rumor of sorts that was supposed to be a scary story of sorts. He heard a familiar name run out within the bundle of students speaking. Why would such a boy tell someone such an absurd and ludicrous tale, much less to a bunch of high school students. Was he that desperate to warn the people of real sorrows they encountered or was it some way to hog attention? The boy quietly sighed as he ponders to himself within the confines of the darkened classroom. He felt there was some sort of glimmer of truth within the story, but it was too surreal to believe. He will admit that some of the few students of that class were acting a bit strange because of that incident they went through, but he still dismissed the possibility of it being something so insane and supernatural.

Most of the students were in a circle trying to tell scary stories with himself dismissing himself from the mix. He felt he couldn't related or conjure up a good ghost story to spook the group, so he just excused himself from the circle. The stories were getting ridiculous by the minute, with Naomi getting all pissy over a little joke. She was blunt and rude at times and he feelt that she at least should loosen up a tiny bit... Then again, it was plain morbid to joke around about a killed being around someone's neighborhood. Paranoia can be a great ally times, and a persons worst nightmare if not used in the correct sense, and Yosuke was trying to cause that to escalate. I mean he could of been a bit more sensitive due to an unforeseen event that happened to her... Too bad he didn't predict another event was about to transpire, one that would possibly hurt his heart.

As he prepared to start cleaning up, he heard a sweet and familiar voice puncture the air around him. He turned his head swiftly to face the girl and hear what she had to say. Her voice was filled with grief and sorrow, and Eien wondered what he could do to comfort her, before the bomb was dropped. The boys face was molded into an expression of shock, speechless at what he heard. He didn't want to believe it at the moment, but he couldn't deceive himself of the truth which laid be for him. As he tried to reassure himself that this was some joke, he uttered something to the group at hand, mainly Mayuri.

"Wh-what? Wait, thats just a joke, right? You're not actually leaving... Right? I mean, why would you leave this place and all your friends behind?"

He felt that he grasped the answer at hand already, but he felt he needed to hear her reasoning to confirm if not only his suspicious were true, but if she was truly being genuine about leaving. As he spoke in his solemn voice, his heart began sinking a little into the depths of his chest because of the words she spoke. She wasn't really leaving, right?

"Whoa!" Shirako exclaims, raising his hands as though in defence to Yosuke's words. "Yo, let'er speak." He added, nodding his head to a slow beat.

"I wish I was joking, but..." Mayuri paused, the air growing stiller and colder by the moment. "There's nothing I can do about it... The house and business is being sold out from under me... There's nothing I can do about it..." Mayuri immediately began to sob, though she quickly made herself act strong for everyone else. "I wouldn't leave you guys for the world, but sometimes you're not the one in control... If I'm honest I'd like to be friends with you guys forever..." There was a certain amount of hesitation in her voice. This was leading somewhere... "And so I'd like to perform a charm."

"Hey, c'mon, Mayu! You know you could easily stay with one of us!" Jinta stated, emphasizing the group around her. "We could all pitch in, ya know? A sort of charity! 'Save the Student Council President' charity, yeah? We might even get the whole school involved!"

Mayuri couldn't help but smile at Jinta's comforting words. "I wish it were that simple, but...there are a lot of complications... I'm just preparing for the worst case scenario...again." She said that final part with at least some sense of joy, as though to lighten the mood. Her motion swift, Mayuri zipped open her messenger bag and rummaged around in it for awhile, only to retrieve...

...a plain, white paper doll of undefined detail. It shined in the dim light, glowing luminously and certainly drawing the eye of those in the classroom. Mayuri was never one or supernatural things or special events, really. The Halloween event was a surprise enough, and this charm to boot? She obviously was preparing for a worst case scenario...

When Mayuri said she needed to leave because she was moving, Naomi, walked up from behind of Mayuri and hugged her, Naomi put a hand on Mayuri's head and tussled her hair." It's too bad your leaving us, I really wish I could have visited your home and met your family before you left." Naomi told the girl before stroking her hair slowly, then she let go of Mayuri and when she took out the charm, Naomi felt a bad vibe about the featureless paper doll but put her bad feeling aside.

" So what's with this paper doll thing ?" Naomi asked cocking an eyebrow curious of the paper doll. the doll seemed vaguely familiar to her, she couldn't put her finger on it but she felt she seen the doll somewhere before, but she couldn't place her finger on it, she gave the featureless doll a deadly cold stare as if she had a problem with it, then blinked and looked at everyone else silently before she grabbed part of it firmly.

"Man, that thing looks straaaaange..." Shirako added immediately after Naomi, also giving it an odd look, though shrugged and continued to listen to his music.

"I'll admit, it is a little weird,' Mayuri admitted, "and perhaps slightly creepy, but...well, it was recommended to me on the net, and the charm is actually really quite nice."

"What do we have to do?" Quizzed Jinta, who was now fidgeting a little impatiently.

"In order to perform the ritual, at least two to ten participants are needed." Mayuri began as she counted the number of students in her head, momentarily pausing. "With the paper Sachiko doll in hand, everyone needs to gather around in a circle and each individual must grip firmly onto the proxy doll."

"Then you must invoke Sachiko by chanting the phrase in your head, "Sachiko, we beg of you", one time for each participant present plus once more for Sachiko herself. After chanting, everyone holding onto the paper doll pulls it apart, leaving each person with a paper doll scrap. It is suggested to keep this paper scrap on your person, such as putting it inside your student ID holder or wallet. Well, that's what the website I got it from said, anyway."

"What's the charm called?" Asked Jinta, genuinely curious about the name.

"It's called the "Sachiko Ever After" Charm. It's based on an old tale some 30-odd years ago, when a young schoolgirl named Sachiko died. I know that if we perform the charm right, we get Sachiko's blessing and we remains friends forever!" Mayuri couldn't help but smile at the thought.

"Well, I guess we should give it a try... Personally, I've never been one for charms n' stuff, but if that's what your like us do I have no objections." Shrugged Jinta in reply, looking at the others for their response.

"Hey, have you guys heard about the 21st of October?" Jinta questioned his friends.
Yume, who's head gave a small jolt out of interest, turned and walked to the circle of her friends and listened closely to his story.

Once finished, she blew out of her nose with a bit of frustration, expecting something more ear-catching, but at the same time, laughed to the ridiculous tale and self-agreed with the statements given to Jinta by her other friends.

When she decided to help Eien with clearing up the classroom, Mayuri took her attention and listened carefully, due to the softness of her voice.
"I'm leaving Kisaragi Academy..." were the heart-breaking words that escaped from her mouth.

"What?! No way! Why?!" Yume bolted out along with her friends who, as well, complained about her sudden departure from the school. How...why....
Mayuri's answer sunk deep into her heart. This couldn't be. Yume found it difficult to grasp on that she tries her best not to spill out any tears.
"And so I'd like to perform a charm."

Mayuri then held out a small white doll-like paper figure on the palm of her hands. As it dimly shone, Yume's eyes widened and her heart skipped a beat. She felt a rise of an ominous feeling up her spine. Mayuri's explanation certainly didn't help make a change. What was it? What's going on?

"Well, I guess we should give it a try." Jinta suggested. Will this really make the friendship last forever?
".....It wouldn't hurt, I guess." Yume had no choice. If she just went and explained what she felt towards it, no one would believe. They'd all laugh at her. In any cases, she herself didn't have any idea what she suddenly thought of it.

"I wish Seiko could join us..." Mayuri muttered, apparently in a daydream-like state. Jinta and Shirako, who now, for once, wasn't wearing headphones, looked at her in confusion.

"Seiko?" Jinta asked. "Who's Seiko?"

Mayuri looked back at Jinta in confusion, before shaking her head feverishly. "I don't know, you tell me." She replied, apparently having no memory of what she'd just said. Jinta simply shrugged and sighed, letting the conversation drop as Mayuri urged everyone to take hold of the paper doll. Jinta and Shirako both obliged without complaint, and the three of them waited on the rest of the group to take hold of the doll.

-Eien : Kisaragi Academy-

As the boy heard those words, he sorrowfully stared at the group, seemingly broken because of what she said. She was leaving, and he had a rather hard time accepting this reality laid before him. He watched as Mayuri began to sob uncontrollably, and almost broke into tears himself. Eien was able to choke back the myriad tears he had, and quickly pivoted around so no one would notice his melancholy state. Eien slowly walked towards the window, and stared out at the completely bleak academy outside. That was then he broke into a quiet sob, as he wouldn't want any to see his anguish, and possibly guilt her even further in a way. He quietly stood there crying, and staring into the beautifully miserable horizon.

"Man, that thing looks straaaaange..."

He turned his head slightly back to the group, wiping away any linger tears. He looked at the group with his red-tearful eyes, and saw what looked to be a peculiar paper doll. It had no features on it, and was a completely blank state. There was seemingly nothing unusual about the piece of paper, until Mayuri explained further. It was a charm that would keep the whole group together forever, and it was named the Sachiko Ever After charm. Strange name, with an almost promising reward - they'll be together forever. Despite feeling signs of his impending fate, he brushed it off as nothing more than grief, and turned to face the group.

"(With this, maybe... Just maybe we'll meet each other again, Yume, Jinata, Naomi, Yosuke, the others... And Mayuri... I'll do it for you Mayuri, in hopes of meeting each other again!)"

As he began to walk towards the group, he heard a name given to the group by Mayuri - Seiko. The name was rather unfamiliar, as he never did hear anything about a Seiko girl. Did she attend the academy with us or something? He struggled to remember, but alas, the thoughts were futile as he couldn't seem to recall who she was. He brushed it off, namesake towards the group, before grabbing a piece next to Mayuri.

"All of us are with you on this Mayuri-san, and we won't deprive ourselves of such a promising opportunity, right guys?"

He gave Mayuri a smile to mask his sorrows. Despite the fact that this was a hopeful charm, he still wished they wern't pushed to such lengths. As he continued his facade, he looked around at the other group members, and looked at each of them in complete assurance. He was glad that they would be united forever fate this charm, but he was still discontent due to how ominous the doll looked up close. He just ignored it and prepared himself for the charm.

Yosuke looked over the blank white paper doll with an odd sense of dread. It just didn't feel right to him, I mean seriously, a little girl died, so we're gonna ask her to help us be friends? Then there was the matter that Mayuri had brought up someone who, for all intents and purposes, didn't exist. This reeked something awful (in the metaphorical sense, the actual doll itself looked fine.) Unfortunately, everyone seemed to be gathering around the doll to preform the ritual. He didn't want to be left out, and he sure as hell didn't want Naomi making fun of him for being a pussy and not tear a stupid paper doll.

With firm resolve, Yosuke joined the others in the circle around Mayuri, and sighed. "Alright, I'll try this doll thing if you want. I better not end up in hell though." Yosuke said, a slight grin on his face to hide his fear over the current situation. Ever one else was smiling to, clearly they weren't afraid. He had to be strong, for them. For her.

"Thank you guys!" Mayuri smiled with evident happiness as a short burst of tears flown down her cheeks. As everyone took hold of the paper doll, she went on to explain the next part of the charm.

"The charm is all rather easy and straightforward," Mayuri began once again, as everyone now held onto the doll firmly. "In your head, you need to chant the phrase 'Sachiko, we beg of you' for each of the people here plus once more for Sachiko. So, uh, please do that now." She explained. Mayuri then closed her eyes in silence, presumably to chant, as did Shirako. Jinta had his eyes open and was looking around, though sighed and also fell silent. After about ten or so seconds, Mayuri opened her eyes and continued.

"Now, hold onto the paper doll real tight. Like, so your nails dig into it tight. We're all going to rip it apart into pieces. Once you have your doll scrap piece, hold onto it and then we'll be connected forever! I suggest putting it into your student ID folder." Mayuri smiled innocently as she explained the details. She made sure that everyone understood by looking over the group and getting them to nod in understanding. Once all was well, Mayuri started the countdown. "All right. We'll all pull on three!"

"One...two..." Mayuri counted down. Everyone began to feel the paper doll tense as the pressure from all the students holding it accumulated...

"Three!"

Lightning flashed from the outside, illuminating all inside and even causing Jinta to jump from surprise and some much-held anticipation. The paper doll had been torn into pieces, one scrap for each person who took part, and now, as Mayuri merrily announced, the charm was finally completed.

"See? That wasn't so bad, was it?" She asked rhetorically, putting the doll scrap into her student ID folder. "Again, make sure to put your doll scrap piece someplace safe!"

Jun smiled her usual small smile as she pocketed her scrap of the doll in her breast pocket neatly.

Silly as it was, at least Mayuri had found a way to cope with her departure, a way to remember her friends for years to come. Jun's own departure was quick, too quick to even consider calling a friend. Her relatives, her mothers co-workers, her dearest childhood friends...gone. With nothing but all-too corruptible memories to go by, she could barely remember her own childhood friends...

A tinge of envy was in Jun, but she was much more happier for Mayuri than anything else. If Jun could not have the life she wanted, the very least she could do was make things right for others, right?

After a deep sigh, Jun looked around the room, sighing in reminiscence as though she were Mayuri herself.

"So...Mayuri...what next? There's got to be more than the ritual than this, right?"

"Well, I mean, I read it up online and I might've forgot a detail or two, although I know that we did everything correctly in terms of- ah, I'm blabbering again. I don't think-"

All-too suddenly, Mayuri was cut off by a sudden trembling beneath everyone's feet. The ground shook around them, causing chairs and desks to vibrate uncontrollably, even knocking a few over, students included. Jinta fell on his ass almost immediately, having a poor case of balance and terrible motion sickness, and clutched on tightly to the teachers desk nearby. Shirako seemed to be able to withstand the quakes power, though his feet wobbled as though they'd buckle to the power of the tremor. Mayuri herself was almost thrown over to the windowsill, and grabbed a hold of the window frame tightly.

It stopped almost as suddenly as it started, lasting in a mere couple of seconds. As the tremor subsided, Jinta wobbled to his feet, holding back the urge to puke, whilst Shirako and Mayuri both took residency upon nearby desks, panting from shock.

"Is everyone...alright?" Mayuri asked between breaths, looking at her fellow classmates and class with in surprise.

"The hell was that?!" Jinta inquired, barely standing as he leaned over the teachers desk, though it didn't seem likely he was to get an answer. He rubbed his backside with a groan. "Ow! My ass..."

"Yo... Uncool..." Shirako murmured as he helped some of the other students up.

"All of us are with you on this Mayuri, and we won't deprive ourselves of such a promising opportunity, right guys?"

Everyone gathered in and agreed to perform Mayuri's charm. Even so if Yume herself agreed to do it, she still couldn't shake off the ominous feeling, but then again, she was right. It wouldn't hurt to give it a go.
Yume walked into the circle and listened tentatively to the instructions. "In your head, you need to chant the phrase 'Sachiko, we beg of you' for each of the people here plus once more for Sachiko." Everyone then slowly closed their eyes, and Yume was practically the last one. She took deep breaths, help a part of the paper and shut her eyes and started to chant in her mind. When finished, like said, Yume ripped her piece of the doll as hard as she could.

"Guaaahh!
Yume's heart jolted in surprise when a frighting bolt of lightning flashed and the ominous feeling, instead of flying away, somehow grew even more. This gave the girl headaches, but tend to ignore it and just go one for Mayuri's sake. Rubbing her head, she tucked in the piece of paper in her pocket.

"Our friendship will stay forever! We'll never forget you, Mayuri. We'll always hang out every other day, so no worries! Yume did her best to move on to another topic.
"So...Mayuri...what next? There's got to be more than the ritual than this, right?" Jun questioned. Yume bit her lips, in hope for no more than what they had just done.
"Well, I mean, I read it up online and I might've forgot a detail or two, although I know that we did everything correctly in terms of- ah, I'm blabbering again. I don't think-"
"W-woaaahhh!"

Mayuri halted as the ground, all of a sudden, started to shake. Like the desks and chairs, Yume lost conscious and collapsed heavily onto the ground after a while the trembling stopped.

When the room the room lit up Naomi covered her eyes and tried to cover her eyes from the radiant light coming from outside, somewhere deep down Naomi felt what she did was crazy or dangerous. Naomi looked at her piece of the doll in between two of her fingers, she pocketed the scrap of paper in her pants pocket, She then put a hand on Mayuri's head and was about to speak when the quake happened ,she almost lost her footing and Mayuri slipped away from her, going over near the windowsill, and witnessed Yume pass out from the quake.

Naomi helped Mayuri, stepping over Yume in the process, she didn't care too much for Yume seeing how she passed out from a mere earth quake, took Mayuri's hand to help her from the desk she was hanging onto, " Are you okay Mayu ?" Naomi asked curious of the underclassmen's health, she put everyone else out of her mind not caring for what was going on with them whatsoever, she was more focused on Mayuri's safety.

Jun, with her glutes up in the air and a hand on the ground, looked like she was doing stretches. Regardless, she had refused to be grounded, and for that, she was spared some minor bruising on her knees.

Slowly, she stood straight up once again while brushing the hair away from her face.

"...everyone alright?" she asked. "There's still people outside cleaning up, right? We should check to see if they're safe..."

She approaches the window, and looks outside.

Yosuke yelped in surprise as the thunder sounded, accidentally dropping his paper doll piece. He freaked out, and looked around frantically for it. In the commotion of the earthquake, he had completely lost the probably very important doll piece. He cursed himself silently as he got up off of the creaky floor. He decided to not tell anyone about it, why worry them after the freaky earthquake that just occurred? Yosuke then asked "Is everyone alright?" before straightening his messengers bag and wiping the dust off of his jacket.
