Rules

1. I have final say
2. Don’t argue
3. Try to follow the setting
4. Don’t overpower your kingdom

The year is 1008 After Founding the number of Born Mages has decreased over the last thirty years leaving the noble houses with few heirs and even fewer leaders. Blooded magic has increased tenfold, and the Rune mages have been being mysteriously killed. The abominations have been increased slowly over the years making the roads very dangerous. King Ryelds Has been ruling for the last thirty five years, and is approaching his fifty-fifth birthday And has called all the lords and ladies of the land to appear at his gathering in the capital.

The rest of the land has slowly risen to turmoil as the non-mages fight to gain any privilege or authority in the land. There have been several rebellious movements that have drawn the attention of the more militant lords to defend the kingdom. In the last twenty years the king has conquered many sovereign kingdoms and forced them under his banner. The people of those lands are generally treated very poorly by the kings military. King Ryelds has two more smaller kingdoms to conquer before he owns the entire continent. Both those kingdoms formed an alliance which has been slowly holding back the King.

Other than that its pretty free, I sort of see this as a half nation, half casual. So go wild, go free. And if you have questions message me.

Character

Name: Ridark Ryven
Age: 23

Description: Lord Ryven is average in all aspects for the people of the Waulk; Brown hair, eyes, his hair is kept short and trimmed. He has light facial hair, his build is athletic and he stands just shy of six foot. His only noticeable features is the scar that runs from under his left eye and ends above his right brow. Though not seen in the kings court very often, he is still well known for a "Leading from the front" life style. Not afraid to get dirty with his men he often drinks and socializes with his people. Though in court he remains very quite and rarely puts his two cents in. He married very young and had two daughters both gifted in magic.

His magic is often seen as very uncomfortable for those around him, it leaves mages with a empty, hollow feeling that can make one nauseated or uncomfortable. As a result his not often called to court, and not often invited to balls or other social gatherings. Though he is seen as a very reliable supporter of the crown.

Rank: Lord
Rebels or Crown: Crown
Magic ability: Void of Magic ( radiates an Aura, that cancels all magic )
Weapons: Bastard sword named Nouthung

Nation: Waulk Lands

Banner:

Castle: A castle carved out of the mountain face that the Waulk Lands occupy a crevicein the mountain side, along with a few Plateaus, the castle is surrounded by a wooden wall. The lands slope upwards to the castle with Terrance farms occupying open spaces. The castle has its own personal river which runs underneath it and empties into the adjacent sea several leagues away.

Lands: Mostly farm lands and forestry. The Waulk Lands are stern and unforgiving having Abominations that roam the country side frequently. Its advised against traveling alone or parties less than five. Even though the base of the mountain is the most dangerous part the forest and plains nearby are also crawling with monsters of all calibers.

Specialty: The Waulk lands specialize in hunting and kill abominations, a specialty that has been theirs for the entirety of their existence. They fight in rag tag groups to bring down large prey.

Military: The soldiers are outfitted with light armor, spears and long-swords. They're like the rest of the Waulk youth, trained in fighting and some cases guerrilla warfare. They have highly trained archers capable of near inhuman shots. Their Calvary is weak at best, and their ground soldiers tend to be disorganized. The Waulk Lands People regard the fighting of other humans as distasteful and shameful. They break their war parties into three groups, the Horsemen who wear no armor, and wield a spear and axe. The Horsemen distract abominations and lead them to the ambush. The Foot Soldiers who wear minimal leather armor, cover themselves in Abomination bile and or blood to mask their scent, they take cover and wait for the single. At which they spring out with their spears and form a spear shield wall to impale the oncoming Abominations. The archers who wield long bows and short swords remain behind the footmen, and try to bring down the host before they reach foot soldiers. The military has about 10,000 people at full force. Though most of the time is hovering just above 5,000

Culture: The people of the Waulk are very self sufficient, and often times will refuse aid in the most dire situations. The Waulk Landians, have a strict code of honor which all people adhere to. Children are often times forced quickly to mature quickly due to the dangers of the land. They believe in procreate and often times have very large families that could range from eight to ten kids and in rare cases more. The average age upon death is roughly 45. The people of the Waulk are usually frugal, but twice a year they break habits and enjoy their solstice festivals.

Name: Lord Rudin
Age: 34
Description: An honorable, renowned Lord that was granted/gained his fief based on his work- hunting down enemies, bandits, and any other who mean harm. Best known for brutality with his cavalry, and known to sometimes not be so honorable when it comes down to combat, and to winning against a superior foe.
Rank: Lord
Rebels or Crown: Crown
Magic ability: Telepathic communication- can communicate with those he wishes through the mind
Weapons: A long awlpike known to bandits and the like as the "Backstabber," and to his men and himself as the "Rudin Spear." An elite cavalry round shield with his symbol on it, which is a rearing black horse on a yellow background, and a long arming sword, meant for both use on horseback and as close combat.

Nation: If under a kingdom, this would be "Fief." So are we Lords of a fief under the Crown, or are we independent kingdoms? Cause a nation is sovereign. A fief isn't.
Banner: A rearing black horse on a yellow background, with a red stripe at the bottom and top. The black horse is of Rudin's mount, and the red stripes are of the blood on a battlefield.
Castle: Castle Curaw
Lands: Lands surrounding Curaw, which is both a castle and a town, and the towns of Bazeck, Nelag, and Ayyike. Coastal region; produces fish, wine, cattle, and silk from an island a short distance offshore.
Specialty: Cavalry, making armor that is essentially the finest silk known to the world, and then layering it dozens of times to create armor that is just as thick as plate armor, lighter, breathes better, and can still stop a sword. Add a bit of leather and iron plates, and it's even more formidable light armor. In addition to cavalry and silk, they also have excellent fish.
Military: Primarily calvary, except for castles and towns, which have regular infantry and archers. Trainers are hired from elsewhere to teach archers and guards, while the calvary is of its own tactics, ideal for the flat terrain near the coast.
Culture: Dark-haired peoples with a proud attitude about them all, even the peasants and street urchins. Celebrate the ending of winter, and coming of summer, and the days that calfs are born. They love gifts, to and from others, and will often bring packs of silk and herds of cattle to anyone whom they really like and think they deserve, always guarded by a column of the calvary.
Other: They love their calvary. Like.... alot. And they love drama, so expect many a dramatic action by them and their calvaries.

Yea sorry, when I created this I had a great layout in my head. But when It came time to putting it together I couldn't think of a single thing. But i was thinking you wouldn't be completely soverign but you could still make your own laws. Similar to a state which the King is the federal government and the state is you.

Also I updated the story. Adding a little too it. I'm making the king more of a tyrant who means good but goes about it wrong. feel free to re-read it.

Name: Abast Reylds
Age: 53
Description: Despite age he looks quite young, He its tall, and handsome, his body is still well muscled from his younger days. He has long blond hair with a mustache and goatee. In the later years he has been seen as a womanizer after his first and second wives failed to give him born mages he has recently been sleeping with almost any Lady of magic birth to give him a heir. With the womanizing he has slowly become more and more brutal, raising taxes on the non-mages, he has been for no explained reason finding those who can bond people with magic and throwing them into the dungeon. He has formed three massive labor camps for the fallen kingdoms where he works their inhabitants to death. His mind has grown dark and his power becoming over bearing.
Rank: King
Magic ability: Ability to manipulate peoples wills through his words.
Weapons: None.

Nation: Kingdom of Verset
Banner:
Castle: A massive castle which stands at the center of the kingdom. It rises into the sky each section of castle taller than the lest with the cetner being a massive tower that stands over the city.

Lands: The city streatches so far that what little lands there are, are made up of solely farmlands to feed the massive city. The city Orthag is fed through tributes and leavies from the surrounding fiefs.

Specialty: Ruling, at somepoint all nobles have lived in Orthag.

Military: The military is vast, and well trained. The soldiers are professional and have tutors and trainers from around the country. There are Mage knights, Bonded soldiers and the regular military where it takes a minimum of four years of training before a candidate is eligible to join the ranks. The military is very well rounded and seen as the pinocle of military power.

Culture: The culture varies due to the mass amounts of immigrants and emigrants.

Well that's basically the point. The natives of verset are loyal because their lives are better than those kingdoms that fell. The soldiers were described perfectly. Picture the united states. Its similar people join the military for food and drink. But I'm not making a stab at the united states. I want termoil in the land I don't want it to be peachy and fun. I want it to be dark and terrible. The king is incredibly wealthy which does give him strong allies because greed conquers all.

I based a lot of this kingdom on Rome. Though I sorta based its military off of the US where people join for all sorts of causes. He has a grand tower because he lost his way and builds beautiful things not nesessary things. I really enjoy the way you described things. Maybe you should turn to a reble instead of a crown supporter.

I wanted it as of right now, I wanted the lords to fear open war because there wasn't enough support in the rebellion.

Support would grow rapidly, though. The only thing that's needed is to have the majority of the army out in the open, away from the castle. Perhaps traveling to another kingdom for more slaves and to destroy and loot it.

The way I would go about it is getting the army to cross a plain between two hilly, forested areas. Perhaps a major trade route, where it had been deliberately widened for the purpose of large groups of people passing each other easily, and so they can camp on the edges without having to find a forest clearing, etc etc etc, which would give horsemen room to manuever, and archers and the like to effectively hide and snipe from the trees. Then it'd be a relatively easy manner in finding enough troops for several lines to block a narrow point, so that they can force the army to come at them at much more manageable numbers, so that archers can pick them off and calvary can strike at their rear ranks should they try to retreat.

Rank: Lord
Rebels or Crown: Crown, but turning to Rebel

I realize that. Although I currently only have a rough concept, the nation I had in mind would be very focused on technology, rather than magic, so they'd attract a lot of sympathy from non-mages. The people of the country would be victims of a widespread condition that prevents the majority of them from using magic, even moreso than most kingdoms. They are a race of humans that is genetically unable to cast most spells, and, instead, are extremely gifted with technology.

Name: Rakir
Age: 28
Description: A Mercenary Captain under the employ of Lord Telleran, a man leading 24 soldiers that are the mercenary equivalent of Knights, with a mix of plate armor or chainmail, with weapons ranging from morningstars to a shield and awlpike. They are an expensive group to hire, but they are efficient and have not lost a single soldier for more than four years.
Rank: Mercenary Captain
Rebels or Crown: Who cares about either- they just want money. But they do hate the central Verset government pretty badly; if they pillage entire Kingdoms, then there are less customers, aren't there? A land at peace is a land with no mercenary income.
Magic ability: None
Weapons: Long Greatsword, a lance/awlpike, horseman's steel roundshield, a couple of knives, and a half-dozen throwing javelins. All the other mounted Mercenaries are similarly armed- two-handed, a long-spiked weapon with a shield, and something to throw.

Name : Galladon Silvermane

Age : 28

Description : Galladon though being only 28 has long hair that is a greyish shade of silver. He has sunken glowing orange eyes, extremely white skin and dislikes the sunlight due to it harming his eyes. Galladon is a kind soul who wants to try and help when he can. However when he uses his power he can become a figurative monster who only wants to feed and does not care who he harms to do it.
