Hunter Smith & his Vulture were, as I was planning, supposed to be when Aegis attacks a much larger enemy force, which will undoubtedly happen. While Aegis on its own atm will surely do a good job, air strikes of both the tank buster and of the air-to-air sort would be needed. If there is a heavy walker, heavy as in big, powerful, bigger than anything Aegis has, then while Aegis could do damage to it, it WOULD be safer to have the Vulture to come in and soften it up. This also is supposed to be for against enemy fighters or tank busters that are moving against Aegis mechs- few of these mechs, I think, have surface-to-air missiles specifically designed to chase down and destroy advanced fighters. And, of course, to clear the air of enemy gunships or dropships. The gunship I have I was planning to be using more for anti-mech, not anti-air.
I can change the background, but the air support would just be needed in this situation, when drop-troopers are attacking larger or heavily armored forces, or with better air support.
