I had a similar problem before. You'd stuck in a rut, if you appease them you hang your economy, if you don't they lynch your economy...

Soon we can perhaps cooperate with that? My current actions are giving me a vested interest in your stability, which increases by the post as the money I set aside to invest builds me a Corustarian Business Empire.

We'll see how effective my " campaign" in Iria turns out to be. I suspect it will get me some minor returns. I'd replicate my buying up strategy, but considering the country is in open revolution, broke and making no money at all, I would assume safety would be valued higher than coin. That said, moving to a foreign country is not an easy sell at all, patriotism can run pretty deep.

If I was you, I'd wait for Gowia to post the update, its not quite the turn but it'll give us all some more insight into the events, which will obviously be of paticular interest to you given the rebellion.

I hope that there won't be a whole Venice-vs-Genoa-like trade war between Argentaurumia and Corustaria. We in the Duchy prefer peaceful cooperation, but the purchase of Argentaurumian land and businesses in the midst of civil instability was not a step in the right direction.

I have a feeling the DIP will be more pissed off about the proposal than anything. They seem to be nationalistic, they probably hate "what immigrants are doing to the nation" as much as direct contact with immigrants themselves.
