Scouts are the most mobile but die if you look at them funny.

Shocktroopers had the most armour (vs infantry) and medium movement, but had powerful SMGs and got flamethrowers when they became elite.

While Marina is still muh fav unit (despite all her failed shots when it mattered), Vyse and Edy were my ship. So if you have a spot, I'll make a Shocktrooper. How do missions/combat work in this though? Is it generally just assumed that everything we do is successful, or are those actions 'attempts', in which you proceed to toss curveball 'results' in our direction, Lennon?

O hai thar.
I generally trust people to be reasonable with their fighting posts, but do chuck the occasional spanner in the works. If people are being too successful, they may stumble on the occasional heavy tank.
But for the most part, I'm quite a laissez-faire GM. I hope.

That last mission is pretty much the hardest level in the game.
