Mimic sighs, "Come now, I don't have all day. If you're worried about damaging my reputation, don't worry, it's not that great anyway. If you don't wish to make me cry, then fine. Make me feel anything but the disappointment I have in you that grows with each passing second."
Devika stared at him. "Seriously? My first day here and you're going to be insulting?" She just didn't understand what the purpose of that was. "Some school. Very well." She let down her walls, one by one, until she could feel the various emotions in the classroom. Luckily most of them were boredom, which she could easily dismiss. She started to breathe in and out, and let the emotion of sadness well up in her body. It started somewhere in the throat. Her larynx tightened, as if she was ready to cry. Her eyes began to burn, and her nose began to leak. Then it got worse. Her body began to get heavy, as if she didn't have the energy to move anymore. Colors faded, sounds diminished, every sense became dulled. Her head felt clouded, weighted. Thinking became fuzzy, and even when the thoughts came, they were distinctly... painful. What was the point? Nothing was ever going to get better. Better not to move. Why bother even living, if life was going to be this way forever?
With all of that coming to a boil within her, she reached forward and smacked Mimic lightly in the forehead. In that flash of skin to skin contact, the emotion left her, and was transferred into him.
