Connor hadn't realised that them dancing would constitute them as a couple. He stopped, looking up at the woman doing the announcement, completely shocked. He didn't know what to do. He had stopped dancing, but still had his hands on Kijanis waist and shoulder how she had placed them.when the spotloght came on them, and the girls approached, he frooze. He felt like bolting. This was way too much attention then he wanted at the moment. he thought to himself, He let his handz fall, but grabbed one of Kijani's. This stopped him from botling. He accepted the crown, trying to ignore how his hands shook. He turned to kijani, slightly wide eyed. It was clear he was close to freaking out.
Kijani was just as surprised as Connor, but much less scared. As the crown was placed on her head, she smiled, and subtly squeezed Connor's hand. She could feel him shaking, and realized that this was probably all very new for him. "Breathe. I already told you we were the best-dressed people here." Her smile widened into a sweet grin. "Now everyone else gets to see it." She turned to the crowd and waved brightly. "Thanks guys!" She wasn't even aware that she and Connor were a couple, but at least people thought they looked good together. That was something. She started to dance to the music, trying to get Connor moving too. "It's just proof they've got good taste."
Devika grinned, chuckling. "Okay, you got me. Journey I know, though." She lifted her voice a bit. "Aaanyway you want it, that's the way you need it-" She was slightly out of tune, but at least she had the words. "I was never that great at singing." She beamed at him, revealing dimples in her cheeks.
