Mimic

t2wave said
Estella

Since Mimic was waiting on her Estella pulled back her hand and threw a ball of fire. The attack moved around wildly making its way toward Mimic. While that was in route she concentrated on moving the air around her. Not being the greatest fighter she was going to have to rely on her powers. Even then she doubted she yet had the skill to stop him. Hopefully an opportunity would present itself.

He swatted the fireball away with a swing of his forearm. He placed his right leg back to firm his stand. Mimic flapped his wings viciously, creating strong gales, repeating a strategy of hopeful disorientation to Estella. He then produced a large fireball, the diameter as wide as his torso, and with his wings, displaced it into a firey wave that was aimed at Estella.

Anthony smiles and signs, "I completely understand." After she walks away, the smiles slides off Anthony's face and he curses mentally, "Damn it."

Her attention was naturally caught by the fire, as she watched the fight on the screen. Obviously it was too be expected, out of all the students it would be foolish to think that none would have any control over fire, or heat at all for that matter. Not knowing who, however, was not a situation she was comfortable with so it was always something she made sure to notice. So she went from half-hearted glances at the screen to watching intently: the stronger she was the more of a threat she was and the more Kat needed to know her weaknesses.

Holding her ground she twisted the gale around herself and pushed it back against the wall of fire. The flames scattered which obstructed their view. Moving to the left she didn't want to get caught standing in the same place. Likely to give herself away in the process she tried to find Mimic with her telepathy.

Kalinda shrugged, "we are all crazy in one way or another" she said, looking about them

After years of teaching and a fair number of encounters with telepaths he recognised the sensation and knew what she was doing. He'd attacked back with elements, now it was time to really push her out of her comfort zone. Kicking up he quickly flew up and over, landing behind her. "So, you've shown me fire and air, am I going to get the full show before we're finished?" He gave away his location but he didn't give her much time to react as he gave a low, sweeping kick to try and knock her feet out from under her.

That definitely wasn't what Estella was going for, though she should have guessed it would happen. Her legs were swept out from under her and she tumbled and hit the floor. Rolling away the ground under Mimic's feet sunk and grabbed hold of him. Knowing she wouldn't have much time Estella threw her hands up and over her head. A wide slab arched up from the ground directly in front of Mimic. She hoped she'd be able to hold him long enough for the attack to land.

"And yet the boy with two personalities is odder then most." Griffin said grin as he watched Estella. She was holding her own. Doing better then some before her had done. Zack would be glad of that. "I don't think the other students consider themselves crazy."

"Someone once defined crazy as doing tne same thing over and over again, and expecting different results" kalinda said, watching the screen "isn't that what theybare doing with Mimic? We are all crazy in some way, each and every being on this planet. Some people just don't know it"

"I try to avoid doing the same thing over and over, especially if it isn't working. I must agree that some people do not know they're crazy. But if you look up the defination of crazy, I think most of the students would not match any definition that you find." Griffin stated. He found himself like this conversation.

The wasn't much satisfaction in the attack sticking, he was obviously superior after having so much more experience, however whatever resemblance to smugness he had quickly disappeared as the ground swallowed his feet, holding on to him securely. Trying to shift his weight he felt it give a little, meaning he just needed to further loosen the ground. Firing lasers at the ground around his feet the floor fractured allowing him to pull his feet free. But not quick enough, he managed to begin to turn but did not escape the attack as the slab hit his side, sending him to the floor with a groan. Firing a laser at the arching slab, causing it to shatter, he picked up large shards and threw them, beating his wings to power them even further. Could she still control her powers under higher pressure?

"But wouldn't you have to be crazy to try and define crazy?" Kalinda said, "so thereford, the defination of crazy is...well, crazy"

"I am not an expert in such thing. I only know the medical community has a definition for crazy. As a being with two personalities we belong in that catagory. " Griffin replied with a shrug. They had seen 'experts' in such things when they were small.

"Bah. The medical community would be happy to look everyonenup in white padded rooms" kalinda said, trying to sound as if she were joking, and failing. "You know what they would call someone like me? Bipolar. Schizophrenic. Delusional. Things like that. They don't know anything, even in a world filled with known supers, they still think we are crazy. They don't believe in magic, in powers, in what we can do. They always think it haas to be something scientific"

Griffin laughed out loud something he had never done before. " Bipolar and Schizophia are real mental illness that effect hundreds of ordinaries. You can not blame the medical community for confusing your abilities with these disorders. The medical community really does try hard to understand how and why things work the way they do. Most of the mean well. They want to help people function in the world."

"They maybe real disorders, but whenever something is different about someone, they always try and fit them into one of the disorders" kalinda said, "I mean, I know I am crazy, but I don't have a mentL illness"

" I don't understand. You do not seem crazy. Explain." Griffin tilted his head and studied her curiously. Had he missed something? She seemed as normal as anyone else at this school was.

Kalinda shrugged, "what else would you call someone that can lock away emotions? I speak to mysel too. And apoarently having no boundaries is oretty crazy too" she said, "just the way I was raised, really. My mother dislikes displaying emotions. School was pretty crappy, so I created friends in my head. And with mynpowers, its kind of hard to keep boundaries"

She sensed the shards heading toward her. Getting to her feet she held her hands out and the shards exploded into tiny fragments and stopped. This particular action she'd practiced quite a bit. It hadn't occurred to her that she would be using it to defend herself though. Taking a moment to assess what she had in front of her Estella looked at the fragments of earth hovering in the air. They weren't as large as what Mimic threw, but they might help at least a little. She swiped her hands against each other and they all began to spin in place. Pointing at Mimic the fragments cut through the moving air toward him.

"Many people talk to themselves. And many have imaginary friends. Boundaries aren't really that important. As for emotion that is an power not an illness mental or otherwise." Griffin argued
