Phoebe, unable to sleep for most of the night, squirmed away from Ryan. It was still quite early in the morning, but she thought it best to get moving. She left a note for Ryan, saying she was heading to her room to tidy it up before classes start.
She opened her dorm door. She had thought about waking Ryan up, having him come with her, but she needed this small amount of time alone, as she began to tidy it up, shutting the window against the cold air. She changed and made her bed, tidied books, papers, plugged her laptop in. She ran a vacuum over the floor. All the while, she thought.
She imagined what it must have been like 21-no nearly 22 years now. Her birthday was soon. Birthday’s had never really been a big thing to her, so it wasn’t strange that she would lose track. She imagined what it must have been like, without the truce. She could see how it could be dangerous, and yet…other kids born from supers had been raised by them. She supposed the level of the super mattered to. She understood it, and yet, couldn’t help but feel jealous.
She showered, forgoing her normal morning run, and dressed. She stood in front of her tall mirror, staring at herself. Yes, she could see both of her parents in herself, and yet…she was entirely different. The green-blue eyes…well that was clearly natures way of having a laugh.
What she wanted now was answers, but unsure of how to go about getting them, she sighed, and headed back to Ryan's dorm, hoping she could catch up with Sue and Katherin with breakfast as well.
Kalinda had started in the gym early. She was just winding down from an hour workout, doing some stretches, then moving onto a few Yoga positions. When she was finished, she laid back on the ground. First the first time since she had developed her powers, she felt normal. She wanted to take advantage of that fact, no sense letting it go to waste when she didn't know how long it would last.
She felt herself. She had successfully managed to block out the rest of the worlds emotions, and her ability to affect them. Sometime during the night, when she had been playing around with her guitar, she had managed to do that. It was just as she rose, to shower in the girls locker rooms and change, that she realised she hadn't played her guitar for probably as long as she had had her powers.
She headed out the gym.
