Devika finished her treadmill routine, then hit the showers for a brief rinse. She headed off to the cafeteria, passing John talking to someone she didn't recognize. She stopped, hearing the girl speak a language she didn't recognize. Her emotions were clear, though- nervousness through and through. "Morning, John." She smiled at the new girl, inclining her head politely. "Good morning." Her words were enunciated very carefully- the university she'd attended had been an international one. English wasn't the default language for a portion of the campus, so she'd learn to speak precisely.

John listens to Nacelle, confusion obvious on his face. "Um," he asks slowly, "Where are you from?" He then grins as Devika walks over and says, "Good morning, beautiful."

Nacelle looks him over and shrugs, she turns to the other girl and raises an eyebrow. "Good morning." Her words were slow and though she smiled knowingly she was absolutely lost. She turned back to John and cleared her throat. "My English is bad...I am new to it." She had used that excuse many a times.

Devika grinned a bit. Even though she was pretty sure John greeted all the girls like that, it was nice to hear. "Good morning, handsome." She gave him a friendly little punch in the shoulder. "I'm Devika. What is your name?" She offered a handshake to the new girl, her hands covered by a pair of winter gloves.

Nacelle watched them both carefully, they seemed to have some sort of strang conversation going. She shook the girl's hand and waved them goodbye as she quickly walked away, she wasn't sure what they were talking anout but it must be private. She sighed and started to study her book as she sat down on the ground a few feet away from them, waiting for the conversation to end.

Austin grimaced at Kijani's apparent loudness. He said quietly," sh.. Some people are actually suffering from a hangover..." He looked at Connor and simply rolled his eyes then looked at Flood. He said," be nice to Kyra." That's all he said, not feeling like saying anything more at my moment. If Flood was rude to Lyra, he wouldn't hesitate to go after him, even in his hungover state.

David, after eating his breakfast alone in the cafeteria decided that, even though he had memorized the map of the school grounds, he would like to go exploring a little bit. As he wanders the halls he comes across Devika and John talking and Nacelle sitting on her own with an English-Afrikaans phrase book. He smiles at the group as he approaches and walks up to Nacelle. "Jy Praat Afrikaans?" (You speak Afrikaans?) in heavily accented Afrikaans, "Ek het 'n paar keer in Suid-Afrika, praat hulle dit 'n baie daar." (I spent some time in South Africa, they speak it a lot there.)

Nacelle smiled brightly at the mention of Beast, as she saw that David's hair was turning blue she smiled even more and let her hair fall down onto her shoulders.
