Kijani listened to his plan quietly, chin propped in one hand. "Tell me, what role will I be playing when you present yourself at your father's side? Cohort? Minion?" Her eyebrow raised. "Partner in crime? Also, may I see a map of the headquarters? I'd prefer to be prepared." She wondered what sort of security to expect at LexCorp. Humans? Androids? Guns, swords, chemicals... Anything was possible, and she knew she couldn't think of everything. It would be her first true test of her capabilities, and she would be lying if she said she wasn't afraid. But intertwined with the fear was brimming excitement. Finally, a chance to really see what she could do, outside of the restraints and rules of the school.
Anthony shows Kijani a series of blueprints of the LExCorp building and remarks, "The top and bottom floors will be the most heavily guarded, but I can almost guarantee that my Father will send most of the guards that are with him down to the lower levels. As one of the main proponents for equal opportunity employment, there will most definitely be some metahumans, though none will be too hard to deal with. After all, he wouldn't hire someone that he couldn't control. His normal human guards will most likely be using conventional firearms, although there may be a few mech suits, similar to the War Machine suits that Tony Stark designed. He's cut down on elaborate traps in the past few years, so his guards will really be the only danger. Of course, we must act quickly, lest he gets the chance to request backup."
Kijani nodded, looking over the blueprints with her lips pursed in concentration. "I can deal with guns now that I have my powers back. And with my sword, I should be able to disable a mech." She paused, thinking about it. "You haven't answered my other question, though. It was a serious one, and I'll rephrase it. What role would make your father dismiss me the easiest? I know I can't be just a mere lackey, otherwise I wouldn't be privy to being in the room. And yet, it would be somewhat unusual for us to have... equal footing." She tapped her fingernails against her chin as she considered her options. "...perhaps you are my mentor?"
Anthony nods, "Yes, you'll be playing the role of my student. However, it should be rather easy for you to be convincing, since I actually am a mentor of sorts to you. After all, haven't I been guiding you through this little adventure? Any other questions?"
Kijani chuckled, but didn't refute him. It wouldn't do any good, because his argument was fairly solid. She would have to figure out just the right level of skill and deference to present. Enough that the senior Luthor would see her potential, but not so much spark that he'd ever feel threatened. The trick would be convincing the man that she belonged in his presence, and yet wasn't strong enough to be dangerous. "What's the backup plan if things go wrong? Also, does your father know what you're capable of?"
Anthony closes his eyes as he thinks, "Who's more valuable and who's more of a threat to me? Kijani is more of a threat, but may one day be a valuable ally. The only threat Ben presents is a physical one and I can always find another person to fight for me." He opens his eyes while replying, "If things take a turn for the worse, which they won't, Ben will cover us while we make our escape."
Kijani smiled slightly, figuring the sort of calculation that he had to do. "So you're not willing to lose me. That's... interesting, Anthony." She wound one of her dreadlocks around her fingertip, lost in thought. "I'm going to assume your father's building has detectors and weapon checks... How the heck am I going to get my sword inside?" She didn't know enough about technology to have a ready way of subverting a metal detector. "Some sort of insulation?" That, or get a double that was somehow free of metal. She'd heard that hard ceramics were very good at doubling for a good blade. That was certainly worth a future investment. "Or perhaps I don't bring the actual sword, but something else?" There was always the option of making a paper duplicate. No one would stop a student from taking a bag of books into a meeting.
Anthony shakes his head, "Oh don't worry about that. He knows that you'll have your sword, I told him that Thor instructed you to always carry it. He probably won't go near you. but he won't object." He stands and extends his hand toward the door while saying, "Now, if you have no other questions, Watson will take you back to the Academy."
Kijani raised her eyebrows, impressed that he'd managed to get her blade in with nothing more than the truth. Part of the truth, anyway. She knew she was being dismissed, which is why she sat in her chair a bit longer. "Hey, Anthony?" She looked up into his eyes from her chair, her gaze a swirl of odd emotions. "Whatever happens tomorrow... I really hope you get what you need." Only then did she rise, putting on a smile. "Also, you need to invest in some chapstick. Your lips were a bit dry." With that, she headed toward the door, calling out a nonchalant. "See you tomorrow!"
Anthony looks at Flood, eyebrow raised, and replies between bites, "Hello. May I help you?"
