Kat had began to make her way to the cafeteria but looking at the flow of students around her she stopped, turning to walk down another corridor. There was no sense in wasting another hour in the monotony when she could be doing something at least slightly useful. She walked into a near empty computer lab and sat down, turning on the computer. She paused for a second, fingers hovering over the keyboard as she thought over what to spend her time on, before she opened up the browser and began searching, on occasion copying something down into a journal in the forgotten runes, with the occasional english word thrown in.

Flood blocked all the strikes and hit her in the throat lightly. "You're holding back, try again." He said as he waited.

Devika rubbed her throat slightly with one hand. He hadn't hurt her in the least, but she'd gotten a sense of his hurricane-level emotional state, and she had to take a moment to clear her head. Once she was ready, she started again, this time following through on each blow. If she hit him, she hit him. He'd be okay.

Flood ducked and weaved through the blows and smiled. "Good, now then let's move on to another combo." Flood said as they began to work through multiple combos and worked on her flexibility. "We've done well today. We can work some more tomorrow. For now though, we should celebrate! And I have just the thing. Just give me a sec." Flood quickly went out of the room for a couple of minutes. He came back with a birthday cake with the words 'Happy Birthday Suzie' on it. " This chick Suzie had a birthday cake made for her a couple of months h fore her birthday, but she got failed all her classes and dropped out. No one ever gave her this cake, so I happened to find it conveniently in the back of Gambit's kitchen." He explained setting the cake down on a table nearby. He pulled out some plates and utensils from his backpack and motioned to sit down. " Its lemon flavor."

[Mistress Dizzy]

Devika was sweaty and tired, also getting a bit sore. But she also felt rather proud of herself. She snickered faintly after Flood brought out the cake. Why he'd been in the kitchen, she wasn't even going to ask. "Well, thanks, Suzie, wherever you are." She cut it into thick slices and dug in. "Can I ask you a question? And hopefully you won't be completely pissed off and/or offended?"

(I think she'd say that as 'and slash or'. Devika's weird.)

Chris smiled as he saw the dorm. it looked nice. "So you understand this place? Then could you, I don't know. Be my guide for like the next week? I need all the help I can get." He said heading into the dorm and signing up. Once he had done so he walked back out. He had no idea if he should he grab her hand.

Nacelle smiled, she didn't take his hand and instead folded her arms. "I do,but are you sure you want me to be your guide?"

"You remember who you're talking to right? I'm the king of offensive statements. Go ahead." Flood replied sarcastically as he ate the cake.

Kalinda had made her way to the cafeteria. She grabbed a salad, and made her way to the back, stealing a table, looking up at the continual reports about Lex Luther's murder. She sighed to herself. Kalinda recognised her own signs and symptoms of becoming depressed, and she wanted to prevent that, but couldn't think of any way.

Sometimes, she just wished she could expel her emotions and not feel them. She stared at he salad, and pushed it away untouched.

Devika snickered faintly. "All right then. What's up with your head? I mean... your emotional state? I've never felt anything like it. Being near you is ok, but it's about the same feeling as being in a full elevator..." She shook her head faintly. "I'm probably not making any sense, sorry..."

"I get it. My father was Deadpool and he is absolutely insane. I inherited partial insanity from him, making my emotianal state very chaotic. I have voices in my head which is why you feel so many emotions at once. It all balances out in the end though, I have a crazy fast healing factor, to the point where I could cut off my hand and as long as I still have it, I could just reattach it." Flood explained as he munched on his cake. "Now let me ask you a question. Who's your super parent? I have never encountered any super with emotianal powers as strong as yours." Flood asked.

At Flood's question, Devika felt the anger of the old wound flaring up in her again. She had to physically clench her jaw to keep from spitting out a nasty response. She didn't want to make an enemy out of Flood for no reason, when he'd been kind to her. She steadied her breathing and let out the anger in a slow breath through her nose. "I don't have a super parent." She may or may not have some kind of strange power in her DNA from her birth parents, or she may just be a mutant. None of that mattered, though, because her parents were human and unapologetic. "I have two seriously awesome parents, who taught me everything they could, and got me to other teachers when they couldn't." A smile of pride crossed her face.

"I may have some super DNA in me or something. But as far as I'm concerned, whoever it came from is just a blood donor. They're not my parent." It was probably more of an answer than Flood was expecting.

At Flood's question, Devika felt the anger of the old wound flaring up in her again. She had to physically clench her jaw to keep from spitting out a nasty response. She didn't want to make an enemy out of Flood for no reason, when he'd been kind to her. She steadied her breathing and let out the anger in a slow breath through her nose. "I don't have a super parent." She may or may not have some kind of strange power in her DNA from her birth parents, or she may just be a mutant. "Nice. You don't have any expectations to live up to. You're the first of your generation of heroes or villains. I wish I was the first person in my family to have powers." Flood said not noticing the anger Devika had been feeling. "What are you doing tomorrow?" Flood asked as he wondered if he could hang with her tomorrow.

Devika gave Flood a surprised look. He saw her lack of famous parentage as an advantage, instead of some kind of deficit. That was a new way of thinking about it. Very interesting. She found herself smiling as she answered his question.

"Besides class? I'm not doing anything important. Haven't really made any steady friends. Why? You want to do some more teaching?"

"Don't push yourself too hard. It makes more sense to teach you every other day. You need to let your muscles heal in order to be stronger. No I was thinking we could hang out at lunch or something. Maybe work on the Phobia Ray some more. I think I've made a slight breakthrough." Flood explained as he looked at her a bit closer. Yes this would be an interesting week.

"Oh." She hadn't known about muscles having to heal. All she figured was that the harder you worked out, the faster you'd get stronger. Apparently she was wrong. "Yeah. I can hang out. Not like anyone's clamoring for my attention." She grinned, showing her dimples. "And maybe the Phobia Ray will make me stronger as well."

"Cool. In that case I have something to take care of right now, but I'll see you tomorrow.." Flood said as he got up and threw away his plate. He walked out and began heading to the library. He had to investigate LexCorps security, and a guy who owed him a favor in SHIELD had gotten him a backdoor into their security files. He arrived there and opened up the files. The security there was insane, there was no way that anyone who didn't have codes could get in and out undetected. He did notice a small inconsistency in the video footage the night of the murder which he took note of. The video began looping around 9:00 PM and according to the autopsy done on Lex Luthor he died around 9:30 PM. There was something very fishy going on. He closed the files and frowned. He needed to talk to the principal about this. The last thing that had happened before the video began looping was Anthony leaving his father's office. He headed off to Batman's office to talk to him about this case. He sent a quick case summary to SHIELD and knocked on the office door.

Kyra laid on her back in the grass, watching the sky. She was playing with a small flame in her hand and was honestly very bored. She sighed loudly and stretched, closing her eyes. "Nothing to do..." she.mumbled.

Katherin say alone. She wanted to seek out her friends but she wasn't sure where they were.

Zack wandered the cafeteria. He felt too restless to eat.

After a short while Kat shut down the computer, satisfied that at least not all of her time had been wasted. Though she had to admit that she was hungry so finally relented and made her way to the cafeteria.

After getting herself lunch - a bowl of mussels - she scanned the cafeteria for a place to sit. She was here later than usual so finding herself a quiet corner was looking unlikely, but if anything she was flexible. Besides, interacting with her peers was a better idea than a bad one. Walking over to the table Kalinda sat at she stood opposite holding her tray. "Unfortunately I don't think you gain much from just looking at it, it's a lot better to actively eat.. May I sit?" She asked with a small smile.

Kyra stepped into the cafeteria, yaing. She grabbed a bowl of some sort of meat dish, and sat at a random table alone. She picked at it with her spoon pitifully as she was deep in though.

Kalinda looked up at the voice, "Hello Kat" She said softly, barely managing a small smile, she nodded, "Sure"

She glanced at the salad again, an shrugged, "I don't feel like eating" She said, looking back to Kat. Kalinda wasn't sure they had ever met before, but she knew her name from classes. she gave a soft sigh, and pulled her salad back towards her and took a bit of it, "there, I ate" She said, and this time, she managed a smile easier.
