Connor sighed and closed his eyes. A dull ache began at the base of his skull and he said wearily "she won't like any help from you. She doesn't know you and beyond that, she thinks everyone has to have an agenda to help, a reason. She finds it strange that I'm still here, and that I want nothing more then for her to be happy and safe. Sometimes though, I feel like she accepts it. And those are the best moments, even if they are fleeting. She will suspect you of trying to hurt her, or of wanting something drom her. She finds it difficult to understand the selfless offer, and even more difficult to understand that sometimes asking is all you need to do. Her parents didn't give much thought, if any, for her, and her grandmother is a manipulative, cold woman who has treated her like some sort of experiment. She's been raised to be superior, to accept nothing but the best. And that's part of the reason she has ended up her. While i haven't come to terms about it, I'm abother part of the whole. She probably thought she was protecting me, as she thinks it's her fault if something happens to me. She's always saying she will ruin me. Perhaps it's my fault for not telling her I've already taken steps to protect myself, after I got her away from her grandmother when she kidnapped her. I went to Mr Wayne, and to my father. I've already began to dig for information that will take Waller down. Easy enough, considering I'd already hacked into her system. I don't know if Waller knows that.Perhaps I should have told her. But is it foolish off me go not want her to worry? Perhaps. But I just wanted to protect her, even for a moment" he opened his eyes, and looked down at Kijani.
"She thinks I can't understand what she needs to do, to be. That I can't understand that some of her intentions might not be...heroic. She thinks I'm too pure for her, and that I should be with some one who will be a hero" he looked up, "if I wanted that, then I'd have that. But I wanted her. And that's something else she has trouble understand. The thought that someone wants her." A soft laugh escaped him "I don't even know how I managed to slip through the barriers she has, how I managed to embed myself into her heart. And I don't think she knows either, and that scares her. This could have all been so different, if she had asked me to leave. I would have, because then, I think, it would have been what she truly wanted. She may figure that out one day." He sighed again, wondering why he was saying all this to a virtual stranger.
