"You're a scary girl, you know that?" Phoebe said after a minute "I mean, in pretty sure you're joking, but...you're just so...expressive" she struggled to find the right word to describe what she meant. "Thanks, anyway. I guess I was just feeling sorry for myself."
She buried the apple core, simply to have something for her hands to do. Then thought, and waved a hand over the dirt. Instead of an apple tree, pineapples grew "seriously, how is this happening. It was an apple core!" She sighed
When one was mute, one had to make do with their non-verbal expressions. Hand gestures, body posture, and especially facial expressions. She was happy Phoebe mentioned that. Sue was fun around children with her fun-loving demeanour.
So when Phoebe said she felt sorry for herself, Sue laid her head on her shoulder and pouted her lips.
She wondered deeply on what Phoebe was doing with burying the apple core, and was astonished and dumbfounded when a tree came out. Though the fruit was wrong, she was nevertheless impressed and wondered the possibilities of what she more she could do. With nature all around them, Phoebe had unlimited control of the Earth around her, and Sue shuddered at the thought of such power.
Sue, pointed to her ear, and snapped her fingers. It produced a soundwave that wasn’t painfully loud but was as audible as a basketball bouncing in an empty gym. The afternoon was bright and the soundwave was, barely, visible and an air ring was spread from where they were outwards.
Sue wouldn’t be surprised if heads turned to where the sound emanated from, and just on cue, Sue turned to the cafeteria with heads transfixed to her.
