Kijani rolled her eyes. It was hard to get insulted by someone who couldn't even use the right words. "One- it's pyrophobic, you mindless twit. Two- my weapon looks innocuous." She paused, and said gently, as if she was speaking to a little child. Which, in terms of intelligence, she was pretty sure she was. "Innocuous means safe, to use a word that's got a few less syllables for you. Three- I can improve on my skills. I will only get stronger." A low laugh escaped her. "What're you going to do when you hit your 20's and your body starts breaking down from rampant overuse?"

John laughs, "I like you sweetheart, you're a feisty one. My powers are part of the reason I'm able to exercise like I do without hurting myself. I have a healing factor that will probably give me a long life, and the stronger I get, the more powerful all of my powers are. It's a domino effect."

Kijani snorted lightly. "So glad I could earn your approval." Her voice was dry with sarcasm, and then with a twist of malice, she started speaking again. "If you call me sweetheart again, I'm going to cut your tongue out with an index card. We'll see how well you heal from that."

No, you are part of us, new but you could not be inside if you were not like Griffin and I. Estella, I like that name. Zack was confident that Estella was only in denial. Griffin would never let a stranger into their mind. It would be too easy to injure them. Griffin was always on guard for things that could hurt them.

Lottie Longshaw swallowed as she adjusted her backpack, gazing up at the looming academy in awe and terror. She picked at her jumper sleeve like a young child, impatient yet terrified of what was going to come. She pulled her waist length coffee brown hair over her shoulders and her face, concealing ochre eyes that emmited a faint glow.

She sucked in a deep breath and elegantly stalked forward, glancing past the other students in an effort to keep her head down. Lottie was short for Charlotte, but she preferred a short snappy name. She was tall and slim, not overly curvy for a 15 year old but was strongly built and muscular. She had a long gait, and walked like a dancer and appeared to glide towards the double doors that looked inviting and intimidating at the same time. She brushed aside her hair to gaze upwards, before pushing the double doors aside and slipping silently inside.

Lottie gazed around, totally lost in the large foyer. She began to panic but quickly reined herself in, breathing deeply and looking for some sort of staff or student who could help her.

After a few exchanged pleasantries, Lottie was given her timetable and was directed to gym. Chronically shy, showing off her physical elegance was a big deal for Lottie. She got changed quickly, ignoring the other girls and padded along behind them into the gym. She wasn't listening to the teacher for most of the time, but she could catch up. Her eyes glowed and faded rhythmically as she thought about what might happen if she got to excited or scared. She shivered at the thought. She hasn't lost control in a long time and that scared her. She shifted uncomfortably and hid a squeal of shock. She fidgeted and let her hand drift to her shorts and head. She closed her eyes and took deep breaths, regulating her heart beat. She was drawn out of her daze by the teacher sending the class to action. She mindlessly followed the others, copying them and staying quiet, observing.

Jumping in surprise, Lottie hissed a little before flushing and smiling. "Oh, hello. I'm Lottie. Pleased to meet you." Her voice was meek and gentle, and her body language small and concealed.
