I've actually cut back on John's strength level a little bit. He can lift one thousand pounds without his powers, so if I used the same strength scale on him as his father, he'd be able to lift 100 tons.

Did you notice the last part, Avan? He can cure radiation. What is the source of Peter Parker's (and his sons') powers? Irradiated blood. Capisce?

Edit: According to autocorrect, "of" is not a word.

Yah I'm sort of not okay with my guy having his powers taken from him. But the threat is accepted and understood.

hmm... would that still be true with Jack and Ben being second generation? The irraduated blood would be deeper in the DNA, wouldn't it?

Don't worry, I wouldn't have John do that against Jack. Even if he did do it against Jack or Ben, I'd make it temporary, the effects would only last for a couple of hours.

Radiation is radiation, according to comics. When Bruce Banner is Hulked out, every cell of his body overflows with gamma radiation, but he's had that sucked out of him before.

In the real world that is true. Second generation mutations ((rhyme time!)) are usually set more deeply in. However in the comics I thought that Peter Parker's DNA got all messed up. But I am dense... But I do like the safety of something stopping Jack should he got bonkers. He wont but it is possible.

The radiation caused a splicing of DNA. Spiderman is not in the same category as Hull and Abomination which are infused with radioactive energy. While there may be some it is not the source of his power.

"Anti-Venom has all the abilities and powers of Venom, plus the ability to "cleanse" human bodies of foreign influences, such as symbiotes, people's super powers, sickness, and drugs. He also lacks the main weaknesses of the symbiote race, as extreme heat and sonic waves no longer have any effect on him (the Anti-Venom shows an extremely high resistence to heat when the Radioactive Man forces him to stay exposed to a nuclear bomb explosion heat). Anti-Venom also cuts out all of Spider-Man's powers if they get too close to each other."

Attending a public science exhibit when Peter was 15-years old, he was bitten on the hand by a radioactive spider accidentally irradiated by a particle beam, empowering Peter with the arachnid's proportional strength and agility, and the ability to cling to almost any surface."

Later on, he gives his Aunt May a blood transfusion, but the radiation in his blood gave her cancer, or something like that.

There is also the case where Mary-Jane died as a result of cancer from.. other radioactive body fluids in Spider-man: Reign. I don't know enough about Spider-man to really take part in this conversation, but that death is far too hilarious to be tragic

I'm not contesting Antivenom or Spiderman having radioactivity. But its not the source of his power. Spiderman has lost his power and its come back. He didn't just stop being radioactive and then become radioactive again. That's not how half-life works. Of course it doesn't just go away because it isn't the source of his power. It is residual.

Then explain the fact that one of Anti-Venom's powers is purging foreign substances from people, which in the comics includes radiation, and when he comes near Spider-man, which starts eliminating the radiation, Spider-man starts losing his powers. If the radiation isn't the source of Spider-man's powers, losing the radiation wouldn't cause Spider-man to lose his powers. The spider bite isn't what gave Peter powers, but the fact that it was an irradiated spider. You have to remember that this is a fictional universe, so the creators of Spider-man and Hulk were allowed to claim that radiation can give regular men superhuman powers.

Among other things. Why is everyone debating this? I sort of like having that around...

They've changed the story around so many times I suppose they had to pick something more consistent eventually.
