Fionna turned to Konsa, gently sitting her brother in a chair. "Can you try to calm him? I have to go tell the others..." she asked, biting her lip. "I promise I won't take long..."
"Y-yeah, sure." He sputtered out, standing by Kyle. He turned to him, setting a hand on his shoulder. "It'll be alright." He said softly to Kyle, trying to comfort him.
Kyle clutched the pendant in his hand. "I... I can't do this... If he's gone.. Then that means... I'll have to take his position... And I just can't..." he said between sobs.
The girl from earlier came up to them. "Kyle.... Mother wishes to speak with you..."
Kyle nodded and stood. "Thank you, Marie...."
Marie nodded as well and walked off.
His mother came to him. "Kyle... Know this is too sudden, but while you were here, the elder council ruled that the coronation be as soon as possible...."
Kyle sighed. "If that... Is all we can do...." he said, his crying slowing so he could dpeak.
His mother frowned sympathetically. "Sadly, yes.... He has responsibilities here and he must keep them... But of course, you are welcome to stay as long as you would like.."
Kyle looked at Konsa. "It would be nice if you would stay for the coronation though..." he said, biting his lip.
"Oh..." He said with disappointed, he glanced down at Kyle. "Yeah, of course." Konsa replied with a weak smile, "How long until the coronation?" Konsa asked Kyle's mother , glancing back up at her.
Konsa nodded, "Of course." He replied, squeezing Kyle's hand. He glanced at the ashes wistfully, "Uh, do you want to go back to the bedroom?" Konsa asked, not wanting to be near Kyle's father's ashes any longer.
Konsa walked with Kyle down the hall, stiff and graceless. He slowed to a stop when they reached the large bedroom, Konsa stepped inside and glanced back at Kyle with an concerned expression. "You alright?"
