"It is my great pleasure to welcome you, all of you, to the first semester ever, here at Orre's Gym Leader University. I, headmaster Steven Stone, would like to wish you all the best of luck in the coming months. Each and every one of you right now has equal potential, to be part of a new generation of Gym Leaders. One that truly challenges trainers, as well as providing your own teaching, helping the world of Pokemon battling grow and evolve. You are all here because of exceptional potential, both in battling and the care of your Pokemon, and I will be happy to see each of you reach it."

Steven stepped off the podium after his acceptance speech and went to the back room, letting the faculty members go up and give their spiel. "Damn, I hope these get easier as the years go on. Public speaking is not my forte." And out front in the hall, a mob of hundreds of trainers prepared for the journey to come.

And now, let me welcome you all to my roleplay. As you can tell, this is a Pokemon school setting, but with an overarching plot planned, plenty of potential for battles and character development, as well as a large amount of freedom given to the players.

GLU is a two year program to condense all of Pokemon battling theory as well as caretaking into a single curriculum, designed so that every alumni has potential to become a gym leader of any region. GLU promotes a new style, discouraging type specialization and encouraging each trainer to find their own team that can be a consistent challenge to any trainer that comes knocking on the door. While rivalries between students are permitted, friendship is as well, because Steven knows all to well he does not want the best battling prodigies to be against each other. Should a certain shadowy organization come to corrupt them...

Welcome to GLU! My personal Pokemon setting. Yes, it's a boarding school style RP, yes, it's also Pokemon. And yes, it will get dark when Shadow Pokemon show up. Basic stuff I think. below will be collected all the necessary information.

RULES
1. I rule my RP's with an Iron fist, and also a fist made of puppies and rainbows, I try to keep them in balance. So don't give me reason to break out the iron fist
2. Proper spelling and grammar is required for all RP related text, that means character sheets, and IC posts.

Name: Terry Summers
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Biography: Terry comes from Rustboro town in Hoenn. His parents both worked for the Devon corporation, fairly low level desk jobs. Not very unusual for Rustboro. Terry always played outside with the children from the trainers school, though he never had a pokemon of his own. His parents never considered getting him one. One day in Petalburg woods his friends and him found an incredibly rare pokemon, a Treecko. Terry was fascinated with the creature, more than other pokemon, and a friend of his caught it and gave it to him. Finally with a Pokemon of his own, he immediately set out to challenge Roxanne... and got promptly stomped.

For an entire year he trained out with his Aaron, his Treecko, studying at the trainers school with his friends, and learning as much about Pokemon battling as he could. He developed a unique style, teaching Aaron to act without direct orders when necessary, something that would throw off other trainers and Pokemon who would react to command cues, When he came back to battle Roxanne, he came with both his Treecko and an Aron, and emerged victorious, quite handily (the Aron never came into play) Roxanne was impressed, but concealed it from the young trainer.

He left home to venture around Hoenn, setting his sights on Petalburg next, Aron and Treecko got him all the way through to the end, and immediately before starting his battle with Norman, Aaron evolved. Giving the edge they needed to acquire a second badge. Norman asked Terry about himself, and Terry told him about his battle with Roxanne and his past with his Pokemon. Norman had heard about the kid's unusual style from Roxanne, and offered him a deal. If Terry would work to become a strong trainer, Norman would recommend him to the GLU for it's first year of students. With the additional gift of an Eevee. Terry took the offer and had six months until he left for GLU.

During that time, he continued training, learning the capabilities of Grovyle and Eevee, in his researched, he learned of Eevee's peculiar properties, and decided to find an evolution to round out his team. Hearing rumors of an ice type form, he spent a week ascending and training at the peak of meteor falls, one of the only cold locations in Hoenn, and acquired his Glaceon with only a few days before he had to leave for GLU.
Personality: Terry is a hard worker with a dedication to his Pokemon and battling, firmly believing that a trainer's relationship with their team is the key to victory. He has spent a lot of time making sure all his Pokemon know what to do even without direct orders, based on either the flow of battle or more subtle cues. He tries to make friends with every Pokemon and trainer he comes across, and disapproves of hostile rivalries in general.

Biography: Lillycove Born. He always had a foundness for the city's nearby Safari zone which he always found excuse's to work their with the pokemon. He did for 3 years of his life working with the safari zone pokemon. who he Generally got Along with very well. usually he would stand away from the other park worker's as far as he could and play with the pokemon while doing his park duty. Such so he devolped a great Abilty to care for pokemon big or small. Which would come in handy When he was on a trip to petalburg.

At petalburg he was staying at his cousins house eventually he got bored of hanging around the house lollygaging. He took off for a Run around Route 102 Which unlike the safari pokemon the pokemon their didn't know who he was and he accidently Startled a pack of zigzagoon Who Unrentlessly Attacked chasing him further down route 102 and away from petalburg. But a nearby Ralts Sensing his distress helped him By using confusion to lift the zigzagoon off the ground for a couple of secounds before dropping them.

But in return for saving him The ralts had exhausted itself So Alexander did what he thought was best and Took the Ralt's back to his house. where his cousin was Shocked but neither the less allowed him to keep the ralts till it was healthy.

So Alexander kept the ralts for a while feeding it and nursing it back to health. But neither the less good things have to come to a end and the Ralt's Mother A gardivior came into town looking for it. so Alexander handed the ralt's back. the ralt's Much saddened by the fact it was going back to its mother and losing chance of fighting turned and ran back to Alexander. The mother seeing this shook her head Gave alexander a Mega stone. And turned slowly and went back to route 102 and back to her other 2 children.

So thats how Alexander met Casanova who was called Casanova because it was the first thing alexander could think off the top of his head.

They would Travel around Training together in hoenn before Alexander took a boat to Sinnoh During this time Casanova had turned into Kirlia and developed its obsessive compulsion to fight Due to it wanting to evolve to become a Gallade

Staying in Eternia city Alexander decided to go into the Eternia Forest To see if he could catch a pokemon with the pokeballs he had and he did manage to catch a pokemon (albiet after a bit of a chase) It was a buneary and it was quite fast. Much to alexanders annoyence when he had to chase it. But neither the less when he caught it he was overjoyed And so was Casanova (it finally had someone to spare against 24/7)

Eventually after a training session in Eternia Forest he Challenged the Eternia City Gym leader Gardenia. After a tough battle where he was pushed against the wall due to the gym leader having more pokemon then he had. Usagi made lightwork out of Cherubi. who went down quite quickly. but turtwigs leech seeds caused Usagi To faint after KO ing it in a Last ditch attack. But then the big one was out Roserade.

Casanova Quickly got in a Confusion but was hit with a leech seed that begun sapping his health. Roserades poison typing was used by gardenia to great effect against Casanova's fairy typing. Casanova was dodging the poisen attacks left right and center while still being sapped down by the leech seed Every so often retaliating with a Confusion Eventually Roserade went down Casanova barely standing. Neither the less Gardenia was impressed by alexanders Performence and Casanova's Fighting abilty So she gave him a Referal To the Gym Leader university of orre. And Alexander Pocketing the Referal and the gym badge. Decided to leave to head for the university.

after all its not like he could let down Casanova's Dreams of fighting everyone. because Casanova won that referal.

Personality: On the outside Well hes Kindhearted a Well spirited. And eager to go and try everything. Having a great love for Pokemon and the like. But He has got quite the tongue for Making people how to put this lightly... Go away when he wants them to. on the inside He is a Smart thinker but also find's it hard to forgive and forget people who have wronged him. Except pokemon for some reason he gets along better with them then people.

Name: Shoto Yoshida
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Biography: Shoto is from Nimbasa City, Unova. He was born into a sports family. His father played baseball for Big Stadium and his mother played tennis for Small Court when they were younger. He has older twin brothers that currently play soccer for Big Stadium. So you would think Shoto whould go into the family business. Think again. Its not like he hasn't tried, but the sporty gene never clicked for him so he stuck to acedemics, at which he does fairly well at. Of course there was the stereotypical bullyíng as recompence for such an atracity as intelligence, but he stuck it out. It paid off in the end for him. When he turned twelve his father gave him his first pokemon, a Tympole. Shoto named him DJ because his cheeks looked like the headset of his favorite EDM DJ.

Now that Shoto had a pokemon of his own he could show his bullies what paying attention in class could do. The next time they went to pick on him he challenged one of them to a battle. It was over in a matter of about a minute. From then on. impressed with him, they became friends with Shoto. As the years went by he studied more and battled every now and again, but to him something was still missing. He found just what the year he turned eighteen. Alder, the ex-champion, came to visit Shoto's school to speak to the graduating class. Shoto was on the edge of his seat the entire time absorbing everything and it finally clicked. Shoto realized that maybe what he needed was a journey. So the very next day he asked his parents for their blessing to go. It was a yes.

So with gear and pokemon in tow Shoto headed south for Castelia City. It was fair weather and happy trails for the first few days, but once they got to where route four branches off to lead to the Desert Resort a fierce sandstorm blew in and stopped them in thier tracks until a friendly hiker lent a helping hand. In exchange for the assistance the hiker asked for a battle. Shoto obliged. The battle was kind of one sided as the hiker had only a Dwebble, but the hiker insisted and the battle began. A few minutes of some real back and forth action the Dwebble fainted. The hiker smiled through his dissapointment and happily congratulated Shoto handing him a peculiar stone he said he had no clue if it was worth anything or did anything. Then the two said farewell.

Shoto spent a few more days exploring the desert before moving on to Castelia City. It took Shoto a couple of days to absorb everything the huge city had to offer before finally gathering the courage to challenge Burgh. It was Shoto's toughest battle yet, but he won. Burgh proudly gave Shoto the Insect Badge and a bit of advice. To start building a team that way he could cover more bases and not put to much stress onto a single partner. Shoto agreed but expressed his concern on where to begin. Burgh told him to try Pinwheel Forest on the eastern end of Skyarrow Bridge. Shoto followed the tip and that's how he caught a Venipede he named Crawler.

Pleased with himself Shoto decided to make his way back home to challenge his hometown's very own Elesa. On his way back through Route four and the Desert Resort he captured an oddly colored Yamask who he named Osiris. Once back in Nimbasa, Elesa made short work of Shoto. He was devastated, but Elesa cheered him up stating she saw his potential and recommended he sign up for classes at GLU. He was honored by her words and accepted her invitation. He is so excited and looking forward to his time at the Gym Leader University.

Personality: Well read and well mannered he often can come off as a know it all, but he truly is a nice guy he just has his quirks. Like how he tends to go on tangents about something he interested in. Then when someone gets a fact wrong or twisted, he has a way of correcting them that might be a little demeaning to some. The honest truth about him though he does it all in hopes of making friends. Its the only way he knows how. He has tried the old fashion way with minor success most of the time. Once you get to know him though you'll see his heart of gold.

Claire is a rather tall girl, dressed in the colors of black and orange, a dress she made herself before setting out to the University. She has short, neatly styled reddish brown hair and wears a black cap. Her eyes are usually hidden behind her sunglasses, even indoors.
Name: Claire Fontaine
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Biography: Claire hails from the region of Kalos, growing up in Lumoise city. Her mother was a semi-successful fashion designer, and her father a pokemon trainer that liked to travel. Needless to say, he was never at home much, though that didn't seem to hurt her parents relationship. At an early age she took interest in her mothers work as a fashion designer, quickly becoming familiar with how to make and design clothes, among other things and became a bit of a well known name herself in certain circles for her brilliant designs.

Of course, that was until her father brought her a present from the Hoenn region he just visited. A pokemon egg. After that, the egg became to sole focus of her attention. The baby Ralts hatched not long after, the fastest time her father said he saw an egg hatch. She named it, and the two quickly became fast friends, the psychic pokemon even helping out her and her mother around the house and with their work. However, at the age of eighteen she became disinterested with the world of fashion as she began taking more interest in her fathers travels, and pokemon in general. So he asked him to help her become a strong trainer.

He took her on a small trip to Santalune, where he showed her how to catch pokemon and, where she caught Aiden. From there, it was set. She wanted to become a pokemon trainer and travel with her dad. And so she did. She first set her sights on the pokemon gym in Santalune, since that is where she started out training, and it was a recommendation by her father. Aiden made short work of Violas bug types. Afterwards, her father suggested she head off on her own, as he had nothing left he could possibly suggest or teach her.

For a time, she just traveled Kalos, not really interested in the Gyms or badge collecting. Aiden and Lucy both evolved during this time, shortly before she arrived in Laverre city. On her way there, she stumbled upon a small Pawniard who was being bullied by some other pokemon. At least she thought at the time. Turns out he was the one who started the fight, but if she hadn't stepped in he would have still lost. After sharing a few berries she had found, the two quickly became fast friends.

Now though, she was bored with just travelling and wanted a bit more of a challenge with her travels. So, she decided to take up the gym challenge once again. After thinking it over, she challenged Grant at Cyllage city. It was a difficult battle for Aiden and Lucine, both of which ended up fainting. Cheval, however, made quick work of his rock types. Grant, surprised by her mastery and her bonds with a pokemon she had just captured and befriended, recommended her to the university. Seeing an opportunity, she accepted.

Personality: If you ask her, she's the coolest, most fabulous person to have ever existed on the face of the planet. A 'fashion oriented tomboy' as she calls herself. She likes fighting, training, and she looks fabulous while doing it. She's confident, overly so some would say, and she goes after what she wants with an almost unstoppable ambition. Her current goal? Become the top trainer at the academy. She's not above using her 'feminine charm' to get an edge in battle such as persuading someone to go easy on her through various methods.

However, outside of anything relating to battle, she's a bit of a friendly oddball, and has a bit of a mischievous streak. She has almost no sense of personal space, likes flirting and being flirted with, and will pretty much flirt with anyone, and If it makes you uncomfortable, then she'll do it just for a laugh. (Though if you're that opposed to it and you make her know it, then she won't.) Some would say she behaves this way because she likes others to have a high opinion of her so she can find some way to use that friendship to her advantage in the end. And while she's not above pulling out the 'best friend card' and giving them the puppy dog eyes, she still cares deeply about her friends and would never ask them to do something that could potentially endanger them, or take major advantage of them.

Personality: Lucy shares Claire's bit of mischievousness, often using her psychic powers to get a small laugh out of others. She is friendly, and seems to have an almost endless supply of energy, often dancing around whenever she's out of her pokeball. Above all, however, she is 'fabulous' and everything she does is 'fabulous' and loves making 'fabulous' entrances. Her and Claire always seem to be in perfect sync.

Ability: Flame Body
Personality: Aiden, likes to eat. If he's not in his pokeball or fighting, he can always be found trying to rustle up something to stuff in his beak, and he's not above stealing from other pokemon or even people to achieve this goal. He's a bit of a flake head and can be found sleeping or just lazily flying about the sky if he's not having the munchies.

Ability: Defiant
Personality: Cheval is all business. He doesn't like messing around. However, he is highly protective of Claire and extremely loyal to her and her other pokemon even if they make him question their sanity. He likes fighting, and is the first to jump to Claire's defense should she need it. He also tends to show off in front of Lucine, much to his own dismay. He really doesn't like others noticing this and quickly become flustered should someone mention it.

Gray Curtis

Appearance:
Gray is a man with average height, but larger and muscular build. He has rough, messy brown hair and tends to have a half-assed look to him most of the time.

Name: Gray Curtis
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Biography: Johto born and raised, Gray never knew his mother. She died in an accident when he was just a child. His father, was a sailor who worked in Olivine often times leaving Gray in the care of a friend in Cianwood. As such, their relationship was...distant, at best, but it never bothered him. He took an interest in travelling at an early age, especially pokemon and caught is first one, Magikarp at the age of 12 which he has kept with him at all times since then. A few years later, he set off on his own pokemon journey. Deciding to first head towards Olivine, then to Azalea through Goldenrod catching a few pokemon along the way for good measure. Once in Azalea, he challenged Bugsy to a battle. After a tense battle, he came out on top, thanks to his Magikarp being surprisingly faster than her pokemon with the move Bounce. Later, he found out it was because of his ability. Afterwards, he continued traveling around Johto, evolving his Magikarp and catching a Skarmory in the process.

Sometime later, he found himself in the Hoenn region after, having his father take him there by boat. He soon found himself in Mauville, where he promptly challenged Watson to a battle, not caring that he had a distinct type disadvantage. Despite his best efforts, Watsons pokemon decimated his team, taking out Gyrados and Skarmory easily. After travelling around some more, he caught a Electrike. After a bit of training, he went back and challenged Watson on one condition. They would have a double battle. Watson agreed, but this time the match went in a very different manner. The electric attacks that had decimated his team before, did little damage thanks to Electrikes ability. Unable to do anything but admit defeat, Watson congratulated him and decided he had earned his badge for his use of pokemon abilities.

He then found himself in Kalos, after evolving his Manectric. After travelling to Route 17 and becoming lost in a snowstorm, he took refuge in a small cave where an old Mamoswine had made its home. After a somewhat rocky start to their relationship, the old pokemon and him became good friends, and the Mamoswine led him down the mountain. Though, after a few brief misadventures they somehow managed to overshoot their destination and end up somewhere along route 14, where a Goomy took a liking to him and started following him around. Having little reason to not take the pokemon with him, he did. He managed to catch an Eevee around this time as well. Gray spent quite a lot of time, in Kalos, for multiple reasons. (The number one of which, was the ladies).

Eventually, after fully evolving his entire team, he challenged Snowbelle city. After a fierce battle, battle, he came out on top. Wulfric, seeing his superb mastery over his pokemon, their abilities and move effects, took an interest in him. After a bit of talking, Wulfric decided to tell him about the university in Orre. Deciding he had spent long enough in Kalos, and seeing a new opportunity, he accepted the offer.

Personality: Gray at first would seem a bit of an odd choice for a teacher. Laid back, easy going, and friendly to everyone. He's quite friendly and prefers to spend his time chilling with his friends, or just goofing off and not taking life too seriously. His favorite pastime of which, is swimming at the beach, showing off what he's got to the ladies. Well, what he thinks he got. He's actually pretty clueless when it comes to women. That said, if he gets serious about something, then he's a force to be reckoned with. While that's kind of hard to do, only ever happening in difficult battles or when something more than just a win or loss is on the line, he has a tendency to hold grudges.

Despite his laid back nature, he tends to think outside the box a lot of times during battle and he is quite knowledgeable about the abilities and types of pokemon, and knows how well they would work with other pokemon in battles. After his first gym battle against Bugsy and his close victory, he became interested in studying all pokemon abilities and move types. His favorite type of battles, are double and triple battles, where teamwork is essential for victory, especially when your partner is another trainer.

Notable Possessions: A mega necklace. His necklace was originally a sharpedo's tooth, but it has been modified to hold his mega stone. It's a relic form his younger days when he traveled Hoenn.

Gray has several pokemon at his disposal from his travels. Though, his team usually consists of six pokemon. His first pokemon, a Gyarados named Soaker, a Skarmory named Gale, Berg the Mamoswine, Zippy the Manectric, Syl the Sylveon, and Goo the Goodra. (he's a master of naming things, can't you tell?)

Personality: Well, what exactly do you expect from a Gyrados? Soaker is actually a fairly calm member of his species. Though, much like Gray he has a much darker side to his personality if you get him riled up. Then, he almost reaches natural disaster levels of fury and anger.

Ability: Sturdy
Personality: Gale is an energetic and curious little bird. Often times sticking her beak into places where she probably shouldn't. Some might call her a bit of a ditz, and while she isn't the smartest bird out there, she can still pack a hefty punch. She can be a bit overly affectionate towards people, though, and if she takes a liking to you, then you're going to probably end up getting followed around a lot.

Personality: Berg is a rather grumpy old pokemon. He's been around awhile and seen a lot of crazy stuff, yo. You'd be grumpy too if you've lived as long as he has. He sees himself as a bit of a protector to Gray and his team. He can often be found snoozing in some cool place, or just chilling and watching the clouds roll by. He likes to be by himself, most of the time. He often rolls his eyes at Gray's antics, but he really does have a soft spot for the guy.

Personality: Zippy is a loyal, somewhat serious pokemon. She is highly protective of Gray, and anyone else really. She doesn't like to see other pokemon, or humans get hurt for that matter. She's always the first to jump to someones defense, should they need it.

Personality: Syl...is, well, to put simply, lazy and doesn't like doing anything other than just sleeping or eating. She can be a bit of a grump, and she likes to finish fights quickly so she can get back to doing nothing.

Personality: Goo is a hugger. She'll hug everyone and anything, and is often the way she greets people. Leaving them covered in a sticky coating of slime. She isn't a very violent pokemon, and often times doesn't like to fight. Still, she can pack a punch if she has too, and would do anything to protect Gray.

Name: Blaze Cross
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Biography: Being a Kanto region native, Blaze was born in the Cinnabar Island before the small city's destruction occured by the eruption. During his childhood in Cinnabar Island, he met his first Pokemon, a Charmander. The Fire-Pokemon was causing minor damage to the Island and the lack of trainers from the town, along with Blaine's limited time to see to the matter, made it impossible to give a solution to the problem. Still not a trainer yet, Blaze, a seven year old kid at the time, met the Pokemon when it was cornered by the citizens, who cornered it to get rid of it. Blaze stepped in and stopped the villagers by protecting Charmander with his body, then claiming that he will keep it under his care. Years passed with Blaze taking care of Charmander, along with his mother and little brother, until his family moved from the island to Fucshia City. There, he learned about Pokemon Training and the challenge to become the best of all, the Pokemon Champion. With that in mind, he challenged Jasmine and defeated her, although it was still her early years as a Gym Leader. Her father, Koga, who was in the city at the time, seeing the potential of the young man, encouraged him to find out more about Pokemon battling from the University of Orre, since Fucshia would give him a tough time to start his journey. Listening to the Elite Four's suggestion, Blaze set out to find about the University and gain experience as a Trainer.
Personality: Being an elder brother who had to support a home without a father, Blaze has exhibited a warm personality towards others since he was a kid. He would always provide help to others, unless it was up to no good. He treats others with respect and usually avoids people whom he doesn't like, so as to avoid conflicts. He is usually the voice of reason of a group, mainly due to his calm demeanor and ability to not panic from unusual and/or shocking developments. The only time that Blaze loses his gentleness, is when he is battling, where he takes his more serious and collected expression (as the picture above). That's because he wants to focus on the battle, so his Pokemon may be as less hurt as possible. Being a Kanto region Native, he prefers to have Kanto region Pokemon in his party, although he is curious to see all the other Pokemon of the other region. He hopes that he can reach the top someday as a trainer and he wants to catch the Legendary Pokemon Celebi in hopes that he can somehow prevent the eruption of the volcano in Cinnabar Island.
Notable Possessions: His outfit, which was given to him by his mother, as a gift to him joining the UOO.

Personality: Easily provoked, this Charmander will easily cause trouble, especially if Blaze is not around. He only respects Blaze and his family, with the exception of a few people who managed to approach him and befriend him. Blaze's Charmander loves Pokemon Battles, especially when he is on the winning side.

He wears this blue scarf around his neck. It was initially a piece of cloth that Blaze used to cover a wound Charmander got from the citizens' assault.

Kiku Kunazumi

Name: Kiku Kunazumi
Appearance:

He's a real baby-faced person. With a toned body and cute hazel eyes that curve downward he gives off the feel that just somehow screams "adorable." His height is is rather on the short side being 162cm and with a fair complexion he really does look two years younger then he should be. His deep chocolate brown hair just seems to defy gravity as with a little hair gel it goes from a shoulder length cut becomes a mountain. Like seriously, it looks like a valley of mountains. His face is a soft round shape and he has a button shaped nose that you can pinch and make it look like you're thumb, much like a baby's.

Biography: Originally from the Sinnoh region, this kid was actually first starting out as a co-ordinator. Born in Snowpoint City, his first Pokemon he's ever remember having is a Glaceon that he's had since birth while his twin brother was attached with a Leafeon. Unfortunately, he was born as the younger twin, into a Pokemon yakuza family and was considered weaker of the two brothers and was then forced to move to Sunnyshore City to live with his uncle since having twin heirs was a bad omen. His uncle was a very competent coordinator. He then taught Kiku the basics of contests and he ended up loving it. Also around this time he had found a very weak Staryu on the beaches and ended up taking it to the Pokemon Center and eventually it ended up being a part of his team. He then decided and told everyone that he was going to be a coordinator.

However, he was part of a family who were very successful battlers, even his own twin brother was taking the battle route. For taking up contests instead of battling, he was ostracized and shunned from the family and considered as a failure for wanting to take up contests instead. That's what happens when you grow up in a Pokemon Yakuza family. So when he went on his contest journey, for around 6 months and you know what? He kicked major butt. In no time at all he had already earned five ribbons which not only made eligible for the Grand Festival, unheard of for a newcomer, but also for the Master Rank contests, only reserved for major competitors such as Fantina from Hearthome City. Also during this time a certain, quite mysterious woman dressed in black with lovely silky blonde hair had given him an egg as reward for his spectacular performance. Eventually, it hatched into a Togepi, a very cute one at that, which he soon raised into a Togekiss. Of course, his family still wasn't happy about that and wanted him to go into battling. Well except for his brother and a guard called Kasai, who openly admitted he was side for him over his family.

Why is he at the Gym Leader University? Well, he actually challenged Fantina to a battle, don't ask how even Kiku doesn't know himself, who gave a big thumbs up and told him he should go to said university due to how great his battling prowess was. He defeated her and earned the Relic Badge. He didn't believe her words and just wanted to continue his contest career but of course, his family was proud of him (for like the first time ever) and basically kidnapped him and forced him onto a ship to Orre, needless to say he wasn't exactly pleased to learn he was going to miss out on the Grand Festival. He thought to himself, if this was a place for manufacturing Trainers, than it was an uneeded institution that he would escape. If it was fun and could bring some screaming colour to the rest of the black and white world, then he could give it a try. Maybe. Just maybe give it try. Only if it was fun. But if not say goodbye Orre and hello Hoenn since in Sinnoh he was still gonna get flak for this crap about escaping school.

Personality: Can we say stuttering all the time? Since that's what he does 24/7, well on the outside at least. Generally shy, meek and submissive he's rather quiet and has a cute blush on his face. His presence isn't felt much most of the time and he always seems to be able whimper when scared. Is this all an act? Yes and no. He is rather shy and acts much like girl when he has to meet new people, however when people get to know him, the stuttering little kid seems to be a distant image. First of all, he is a snarky little sadistic asshole. Second, he can and WILL make a sarcastic comment when he wants to. Those combined make a very different image. Being shrewd and tactical, he's able to map what route is best and what's worse, all for his personal enjoyment as well as being a brilliant actor, he can even fake crocodile tears if he needs to.

Don't get him wrong though, he is a very good friend, when you finally earn that much needed trust, Kiku will love you and care for you. He will protect those in need and loves supporting others. Despite that, he will make decisions that help everyone as a whole even if it means putting someone at risk. He's also very short-tempered and when he gets mad... Well we'll see. He also resorts to violence rather quickly due to his upbringing.

Notable Possessions: His light blue wristband that he wears. It has his first contest ribbon on it.

Nickname: Rotation
Ability: Natural Cure - When the Pokemon switches out, it removes any status conditions it has been afflicted with. (BURN, FREEZE, SLEEP, PARALYSIS, POISON)
Personality: It's a star, so it HAS no personality. I'm joking of course, in actuality, it's a very rational Pokemon, even defying the wills of it's master for a better outcome. As such, this in turn makes it an also very observant starfish and is undoubtedly the leader of Kiku's team, possessing a charismatic charm and excellent leadership skills.
Signature Move: Hydro Pump

Nickname: Frostbite
Ability: Ice Body - Heals 1/16 of it's maximum health each turn in the hail.
Personality: A calm and docile cute little girl, Frostbite doesn't bite. Kiku just named her that to sound cool. Puns all intended. In any case, if Rotation was the father of the group (despite being genderless) then Frostbite would be the mother. She cares for everyone on her team as well as Kiku. It's quite obvious though, that she is very confident in her battling prowess and won't hesitate to go all Mama Pokemon if one hurts her teammates or Trainer.
Signature Move: Hail

She also has a collar like thing. That carries the second ribbon Kiku won.
Other: Always has an Icy-Rock

Pokemon Species: Togekiss
Nickname: Sora
Ability: Serene Grace - Bonus Effect occurrence chances double. King's Rock and Razor Fang flinch chances also increase from 10% to 20%
Personality: This boy takes over his trainer and is very mischievous. Loving to play pranks on poor other Pokemon, he loves to have fun and is hilariously outgoing. He also has quite a twisted sense of humor. However, he only does to gain attention is very lovable at heart, since most of the time, all his pranks are all harmless and he'll take responsibility if one goes just a little too far.
Signature Move: AIR FRICKIN SLASH

Age: 35
Biography: Samuel is an Orre Native, and thus perfectly at home at GLU. He grew up in Phenac city, obsessed with Pokemon Battling, like most of the town. He spent every single day at the gym, battling, socializing, and learning where rare Pokemon would show up. He does not talk much about his history with his Pokemon, but assures everybody he has no history in team Snagem or team Cipher.

He traveled between every region over his 20's, performing every gym challenge but never battling any Elite Four, simply moving on to the next region. Most suspect that it was because he wanted to tour the regions and saw the gyms as just a fun tourist activity, with the E4 challenges being unnecessary. Regardless, he returned to Phenac City in Orre and took over running the gym, growing it's reputation as a place of truly challenging battles. Thus, when Steven was laying out the groundwork for GLU, he went to Samuel immediately. Samuel worked with many things in GLU, some more than others, but he is credited in the Builders Plaque as well as being a teacher of battle strategy, specializing in team composition.
Personality: Evans is a strange man, he rarely talks about himself, and knowledge of him is sparse. He knows exactly how good he is, and can take a harsh tone with students who disrespect him. While he feigns ignorance of many important goings-on, he may be more involved with them than anyone thinks. Outside of the classroom, he is brief with students, being sure to answer their academic questions, and nothing more.

Appearance: Rosalyn Hayes
Name: Rosalyn Hayes (Formerly Terese Silvia)
Gender: Female
Age: 33
Biography: It's rare that an Orre native, much less one from The Under, gets very far in life outside of Orre, but here she is. Granted, she did have some... help from a less-than-reputable organization, but that part of her life tends to go unmentioned and unknown. See, in her home"town" of The Under, you either took a chance living in the lawless slums, or you joined Cipher. She chose the latter. She was fairly young when she joined Cipher as a grunt. She roughing up some of the people of The Under, threatened anyone who conflicted with Cipher's agenda. The basic grunt business. But she found that life too hectic and sought a position on the managerial side of Cipher. After all, even crime syndicates have to do their taxes. It wasn't an easy task, jumping from being a peon to an accountant, but somehow she managed to score a position keeping things in The Under under control. She picked up the art of bean counting fairly quickly from others, and the combat training she received as a Peon came in handy more than once.

It wasn't too bad, being with Cipher. Once you got past the mandatory training sessions, the easily-ignored propaganda, and the fact that most of the people of Orre hated your guts, there were plenty of advantages. Stable pay, people remembered your name, and the benefits were nice. She worked for a few years, helping Cipher handle their half-takeover of Orre indirectly from behind a stack of paperwork and a calculator. Of course, Cipher eventually fell at the hands of some kid from Team Snagem and the entire operation was disbanded. She didn't find it too difficult to get away with her involvement in the syndicate, as all paperwork was done in the name of her immediate superior and a direct link to her almost didn't exist. With some luck, she managed to hide among the hostages that were being held in the building and quietly escaped to the surface.

There's a funny quirk about people born in The Under, namely that they aren't technically citizens of Orre. The burial of The Under caused a stir as hundreds of former residents of The Under flooded to the surface and found themselves wanting citizenship. After the dust cleared, the woman formerly known as Terese Silvia emerged with a new face and a new name: Rosalyn Hayes, resident of Phenac City. There was a point where considered taking the first boat out, but something about Orre kept her there. She had to find a way to make ends meet now that she was out of job, so she turned to her skills and tried to settle down as a banker in Phenac City.

That is, until she found that she had an almost preternatural talent for Pokemon battles. It started with some practice fights at the Precept Center, then a tour of the various colosseums that were still standing after the Cipher incident, then Mt. Battle. News spread of the rising star from The Under at its usual slow rate, and in just two years she had gathered enough renown to catch the eye of the international battling league. She was invited outside of Orre to participate in various tournaments as a representative of her home region, and she did... fairly well. Not the best by any means, but good enough to place third in a major tournament. She decided that she enjoyed this life of battle, and began a journey around the world to experience more than a dry desert.

During her journey throughout the various regions of the world she made many valuable allies, human and Pokemon alike, and ~~~~~~~WRITE/EDIT LATER TOO TIRED RIGHT NOW
Personality: To most people Rosalyn comes off as cold, calculating, and ruthless in her pursuit of success, and they're mostly correct. She tries to keep an image of complete professionalism at all times and as a result comes off as overly serious, but she isn't exactly adverse to socializing. She is strict, critical, and has very little tolerance for failure, although she is more than willing to help people overcome their shortcomings- assuming they come to her, of course.

She is very much involved in current events, especially any that involve Cipher. She can't take any chances, she already gets a bit jumpy whenever Cipher comes up in conversations.
Notable Possessions: A keystone placed inside of an armband. She received both the keystone and a Sablenite from Steven as a gift of good will after she joined the GLU. Also handy for holding her Holo Caster.
Battle Theme: Cipher Admin Theme
Other: As far as anyone but her knows, she's just a woman from The Under, formerly employed as an assistant for a small shop that was destroyed in a Cipher attack. She will do anything to erase any remaining trace of her old life.

Pokemon Team.
Rosalyn's team has grown increasingly large over the years, to the point where she's having difficulty keeping track of it. She's entrusted most of her idle team members to the various caretakers around campus, but there's three Pokemon that she always keeps around her for one reason or another.

Pokemon Species: Sableye
Gender: Male
Nickname: Laine
Ability: Keen Eye
Personality: What can you say about Laine? He's a typical Sableye, with all the greed and underhandedness that it entails. Regardless, he appears to be much smarter than most other Sableyes and remains unwaveringly loyal to Rosalyn. Has been trained not to steal things from others, but sometimes the urge is too strong.
Signature Move: Shadow Sneak
Appearance: Not very different from the average Sableye, although frequent consumption of high-quality gemstones has made his gems particularly transluscent. Has a matching armband, which holds a Sablenite.
Other: Laine was the first Pokemon Rosalyn raised. She was given him when she first joined Cipher, thankfully before the shadow Pokemon program had taken off. He was her partner in crime for the brief time she was a Peon, and the Sableye's wit and greed made him a valuable asset in her later life. Capable of Mega-Evolving.

Pokemon Species: Sigilyph
Gender: Male
Nickname: Straid
Ability: Magic Guard
Personality: Personality would certainly be a very generous word to assign to Straid. He shares a trait that is common among most Sigilyph, in that he is completely emotionless. The perfect bodyguard, if you were to ask Rosalyn.
Signature Move: Flash, when used at a higher power, is rather effective at incapacitating both trainers and Pokemon alike.
Appearance: A fairly typical Sigilyph. Wears a red band around his left "wing" to show his purpose as a security Pokemon.
Other: Straid was met at the Desert Resort in Unova, when Rosalyn felt that she was lacking a psychic type. Being taken away from the Relic Castle has caused it to imprint on Rosalyn, marking her as being under his protection. Has been "employed" by the school as a quasi-security officer, silently patrolling the halls after dark in watch for trespassers. Despite lacking emotions, can still serve as a medium for psychic communication. Always scanning the immediate area with his psychic powers, resulting in an unsettling feeling of being watched at all times. You get used to it.

Pokemon Species: Drapion
Nickname: Belle
Ability: Battle Armor
Personality: Belle is certainly an oddball Drapion. She's often seen in a state of relaxation and zen until she's either disturbed or ordered to do something by Rosalyn. Even when she's disturbed, she remains passive unless the disturber is being particularly annoying. Or unless her master tells her to hurt something, she's fine with doing that.
Signature Move: Acupressure/Poison Jab
Appearance: Big, intimidating, and certainly dramatic. Her claws are ususally covered by a thick blue cloth to avoid any unfortunate accidents involving poison.
Other: Belle was the first Pokemon Rosalyn personally caught, back when she was still a Cipher peon. She had found Belle scuttling around near one of the abandoned buildings in The Under, just sort of standing there. Rosalyn saw her chance and threw a stolen pokeball. Belle submitted surprisingly easily, and now she serves as the muscle of the group.
