1. A state of matter is still matter is it not? That said, something like plasma would probably burn him severely so I doubt he would be attempting to use that.
2. Theoretically if one were to 100% convert matter you would get many different forms of energy. Thermal, radiation, visual (light), etc... Also presumably everything nearby would be vaporized or blasted to pieces by the release of said energy. But what fun is that?
3. He could potentially make a nuke. But not from a piece of wood. He would need to have taken in the equivalent of whatever he hopes to create. And even so such intricacies cannot be done all at once. Each piece would need too be created individualy and assembled afterward. Not to mention the fuel source would have a very high mass which would make such an effort impractical. Mechanical objects are not something he can make on the fly. Pieces maybe, but making a single solid object is the most practical and realistic use.

So let me try and get this all straight. He can take any state of matter and change it into something else so lets say air into a knife or sword, but anything mechanical has to be assembled? Also he can convert anything, literally, into a source of energy to release as a more than lethal blast that will turn anything around him into a smoldering stain on the floor at his digression..

That's why I have the motor skill thing crossed out for later use. He doesn't have the power now but I wanted it to develop in the far future as an extension to his "voodoo" persona. And I didn't plan on him using it on characters here; maybe NPCs.

I have no problem with people's power growing and getting stronger as the RP progresses, I kind of planned on it in fact, I just don't want to have to worry about any one complaining about OPness. You know what if you think you can use that power without getting OP I will let you have it, but no controlling another person's character alright, that sound fair?

I like to explain things when I really don't have to. I too much the brains. Let me make it simple because the how is not as important as the what.

He can absorb matter and then use that to create new matter. The material he can create is dependent on him having absorbed it once before. He cannot create more than he has taken in. Nor can he create mechanical or complex things at once. As a result they tend to be simpler constructs like tools or weapons. The denser the material the longer it takes to create. His powers do not work on living things.

No no I get how it works and all it's just the application of it that has me a bit worried. The thought of him just taking in a large amount of gas matter, like oxygen, and turning it into anything he wishes keeps buzzing in my mind. But I will give you the same faith I gave Heathen and approve you if you think you can use the power with out being OP? That sound fair?

Taking in a lot of Oxygen to make something would be a great way to asphyxiate ones self.

I will confine the power to solid materials. It won't really limit the character much in my opinion and it will put your mind at ease. There are still ample applications.

Thank you for the compromise and sorry for being difficult. I've just have had bad experiences with super powered RPs and people coming out of the gate with the whole "I'm stronger than everyone else here so suck it" attitude, not applying that you do or will have that attitude I am just trying to cover my bases so this RP goes smoother than my other ones.

Understandable. As I've said, I have run an RP before and have had to tamp down on that kind of thing myself. Not everyone has the same level of discretion and sometimes there is no way of telling until things are out of hand.

Do you have any history in mind to explain what has happened in the mean time with H.I.V.E?

I was thinking that after Brother Blood was taken down the old academy was closed down for a while, which is why the H.I.V.E five was formed, but after a few years a former student decides to reopen the academy with its original goal of training the next generation's most skilled mercenaries. I know it is vague, but that was all I was able to come up with. Like I said in the rules I am more than welcome to ideas

The H.I.V.E. Academy. Once revered in the underground for its ability to produce elite mercenaries. That reputation was tainted by the likes of Brother Blood, who's arrogance eventually lead to his incarceration and the organizations collapse. From the aftermath the H.I.V.E. Five operated for a while as a small team doing their own jobs. Even that split off as some changed sides for their own reasons.

Since it's fall five years have passed. For what it had become the Academy was not really that bad, misguided perhaps. If only it could be run right. Acting as a neutral party and allowing the trainees to choose their own path. Merely helping them reach their full potential. At least that is what some of it's former members felt. Getting together the idea was pitched and things set into motion to make it happen. They most definitely would face resistance and stigma due to the past. All the better it would be to prove them wrong and that people change.

We are going to need to set in place people that will be in charge. We can only go so far with generic people. Any of the H.I.V.E. Five would probably be good choices.

Name: Violet Turner
Alias: Shadow

Skills: She is a great fighter, and she is quick on her feet. She is street smart mostly. She knows two languages and pieces parts of others.
Powers: She can create things from shadows and blend into walls as a shadow herself. The problem with creating shadows and pretty much being a shadow is that she has no shadow herself. Well, she has very little shadow. If she uses too much of her power at a time, it will eat up the rest of her shadow and she will perish or fully become a shadow.
Equipment: She fights a lot with double swords, so she keeps those strapped to her back.
Personality: Violet is very loud and outgoing. She loves to run around and is very active. She hates any form of goody goodies and is in love with the H.I.V.E. Five. She wanted to be like them when she was younger. She is very quiet when she’s thinking, but loud when she wants to fight.
History: Violet grew up mostly on the streets. Her parents threw her out after she discovered her power. When she was ten, she got into a fight which made her use her power, which is where it ate up most of her shadow. She is very careful when she uses her power now. One of her friends tried to kill her by making her show off her power, but when she wouldn’t, he attacked her. When she was thirteen, she was discovered by a research lab and taken for testing. She later escaped, but now has scars on her stomach from the testing. She finally found the H.I.V.E. academy and is hoping for a fresh start.
Appearance:

Other: She keeps an empty bottle necklace around her neck. When she kills someone or someone dies, she can take their shadow and store it in the bottle. That’s how she keeps from eating up the rest of her shadow. A single person’s shadow, if used right, can last her a few weeks.

I like the sound of that so far, as for the leaders I was still considering that. Maybe we have Jinx and Mammoth serve as Headmaster and mistress, you know to serve as examples of two of the possible paths that can be taken by going to the school.
