Sorry I was out for a little. To answer your question the mind link ability will let Shane see their fears and put them in a dreamlike state where they are in a reality centered around their worst fears. That or be able to just cause them pain due to sharp ringing in the ears, strange voices, hallucinations, stuff of that nature.

She can control her powers. So she can freeze one person and so on. Even two at the same time, three, four, etc etc but I won't do that since it would be easy then.

Ah. So she's just here to learn ways she could use her powers them. James is kind of in a similar situation. His powers have a low ceiling in that they don't particularly get any more powerful, but it's all about finding new and creative ways to use them.
