Okay, have good ideas for the Umbrasis cities as well as their position. They are going to be the second or third most powerful house, the main military family, have lots of great generals and warriors, could be enemies of the Espada due to the fact that they have mirroring roles for the opposing sides and thus would end up fighting each other a lot.

The Umbraisis have been around for a long time, since the early ages of the kingdom, only becoming a major house when Yveltal was tamed and gifted them with his protection. And so the dark legacy of House Umbarisis was born. Their method of warfare is complete destruction, tearing down anything that dares stand in their way. This doesn't mean just brute strength, but strategies that are focused on crushing the enemy by any means. While the house has many heroes, it also has it's fair share of war criminals, deemed to be monsters due to their sadistic and cruel methods. But historically, the worst of them all have been the masters of Yveltal. They are said to bring death with their very presence, unkillible demons that reaped the souls of men like wheat for the harvest, who cared little for life and sought only to bring death and destruction. And of these, the worst of the worst came every 500 years. Known as 'Death-bonded' masters, these men and women are the human sacrifices chosen by Yveltal to feed his rebirth. The symbol of this dark pact being reddened eyes and hair, the more intense the change the greater the bond, and the more people have to fear from them. Even others off their family fear them, as they are seen as to be as wild and uncontrollable as stallions, the inevitability of their death meaning that they fight harder, wilder, longer, and more suicidally than any other warrior. They bear no fear of death, and thus, no fear of punishment, committing the most horrible of atrocities in the name of their king and country and doing it with a smile on their face.

Due to their expansive influence and power, they have several pieces of land across the kingdom. These would be: The mountain fort of Blackened Skyhold, the port city and naval base of Deadman's Reef, the main house of Castle Umbraisis, or Yveltal's Roost as it's sometimes referred to, and a secondary Port city of Bloodwater Cove, named for the strange phenomenon that makes the water turn blood red every so often.

Castle Umbraisis is situated in a rather jagged, rocky area, filled with many dangerous cracks and crevices. The only place that isn't hazardous to walk through for travelers is the main road, which is heavily patrolled by Umbraisis soldiers to prevent bandits from ambushing travelers. The town of Yveltal's Roost, which surrounds the castle, is populated by either solidiers in training or farmers making a living off of the few farmable spots within the hold. More info will be put down at a later time.

For Skyheart, they are probably the third most influential house in Lugere. They supply the military with weapons and gold, and tend to have more political power than military power themselves (though they do have their own private army that's sizable enough to protect all of the cities under their care, as well as enough troops to send in with the national military when needed). Their strength lies in their abilities to procure valuable resources, and in their diplomacy. Being one of the houses that fought by Maccus' side back in the wars hundreds of years ago has solidified their position as a notable house in Lugere beyond all else.

@Raijin that sounds good, I'm up for the Espada and Umbraisis families to be enemies, though not too many people know that the Dread Pirate Vana is part of the Espada family (just yet).

@Xander I'm gonna post today when my boyfriend goes to work. I'll definitely post for Corivana, but my posts are kinda long, however they'll shorten down after the introductory phase is over.

Hey! :D If you'd like to take Trumpet Mecca and change it into your character's city, I would be completely fine with that (it'll give us more chances to interact because of it's location, too!) I could have Sophia stop at the Mecca (or whatever you end up naming it) after you've posted before she continues to the Keirnan estate. As long as you're cool with the Skyheart family being your lords?

I like that idea. The Skyhearts should be one of the more powerful families in Lugere, maybe even duke or duchess of a region? Duke rules over an Earl, who rules a portion of the duke's land (this would be where Cheviots would be), and earls rule over barons, who rule even smaller portions of an earl's land. Barons would usually run a single town and the area around it if that gives you an idea on size. Earl owns several barons, and duke owns several earls. Of course dukes and earls own their own estates or hometowns.

It would make sense, seeing as the Cheviots have not devoted themselves to military strength throughout their history. They can hide behind the Skyhearts, who would be expected to provide Lugere with their presence in war.

It will probably have a different name but that's fine. In my opening post, I'll describe the city pretty well.

Posted. Trumpet Mecca is now Nouvelle which is a nod to Nouvelle Chanson, a French music genre. :D

--

So what is Nouvelle like?

Well it is definitely going to be a lot like Lumiose City so imagine a pretty big cityscape stylized in that French theme. On the edge of the city's official buildings are tent and shack communities, especially along the main roads to get in. Luckily for the tourists, the city guard patrols the roads on foot or mounted on Pontya or Rapidash mounts. Once you get in town, expect the stretch of the main roads to house many shops, bakeries, cafes, taverns, and inns. The city is considered very progressive in its culture and social activity but the notion of just sitting around in public business like that can seem quite taboo to outsiders. Head off the main streets in any direction and the number of those business drops and instead you see more urban parks and maybe a church or two. You might even find a school or two, if you are in an aristocratic part of town.

The city is at a slight incline leading to the center. At the center the slope increases quite a bit to form a towering hill and that is Cheviot Hill. On the summit is Cheviot Hold, and the entire hill is walled off. Cheviot Hold is a massive structure with many unique features of architecture. For one just look at the buildings shape overhead, it is shaped like a quarter note with the stem being the main hold and the round portion being the Grand Hall, the place where only the finest performances happen. The area surrounding the Hold but still inside the walls, are a beautiful greenscape with lots of landscaping and gardens.

For the fine arts (the theme of the town), the circus camps outside the city offer performances ranging in all sorts of things from normal to strange. The edge of town offers the less refined services but they remain cheap. Struggling performers dance or play their hand-me-down instruments looking for appreciation and coin. Some taverns pay for bards or performers but don't pay them very much. Deeper into the city, cafes pay for good musicians, soloists up to small bands, and host artisans for their writing and art. Near the center, concert halls hold large audiences for their orchestras and plays to be performed in front of the more affluent of the city. The shopping near the center is more refined, too, and everything costs a premium but not inflated as the Cheviots monitor the economy of the city well.

And if you aren't a fan of music, this city is not for you. Music can be heard at most hours of the day from just about anywhere.

The city has a good guard, utilizing strong fighting Pokemon like Machoke to bolster the numbers, and they keep most of the city orderly. Most crime happens on the edge of town and beyond, but overall the Cheviots do a good job at policing.

Speaking of Pokemon, you'll all sorts of Pokemon within Nouvelle but a common theme in the aristocratic are more graceful types, like Fairy types. The edge of town and Circus districts often have a wide range, and you'll find a great number of shiny Pokemon in circus communities because of their oddity.

--

I hope I'm not waaay out there with the idea of this city. It isn't Medieval per say, but instead more Renaissance.

So i guess Charak would Loop back because The city was closer taking the risk and hopefully staying on the outskirts (to be less likely to be caught by a guard?) but still gets caught because of the search of the town and the bounty?

Outside of a few clumsy illustrations and the active search of a one hunting party, all of which is based on the drunken description of the big guy, I'd say your character has a good chance of just blending in. Milly knew the chances of catching someone was very slim but did it anyway to appease the guilty party. She knows he is just trying to get out of trouble. Even if they found your character, Milly would personally intervene and probably let him off after a conversation.

But of course, Korrigan is nearby and stumbling upon him can provide a good interaction. I was just leaving your options open, but it does seem like your character desires to put distance from Nouvelle to go somewhere. So Korrigan might be better.
