A bleak looking village, that still somehow manages to have a friendly atmosphere about it thanks to the friendly nature of the people who live here. They are tight knit, and most people know each other by their first names. The town is covered in snow almost all year long, making most people dress in heavy furs and fires constantly ablaze in peoples homes. Even in the streets, a braziers are constantly alight with fire to help keep the town warm. Farming is a thing that's foreign to them, as They get most of their food from hunting and foraging for berries and other things, making selling vegetables quite a lucrative business in the town - but hard to do so giving the rather secluded nature of the city. Of course, merchants are easily...'persuaded' when their money is at stake.
The main business of the village is logging, with their Mill being run nearly 24/7 with the help of pokemon such as Gurdurr, Hariyama, and other strong fighting types to help load the massive trunks of the trees into the mill for cutting by other pokemon and humans. Most of the logs are moved by river with the help of Poliwrath, however Mamoswine move the logs from where they have fallen to the river, and some carry the logs all the way to the mill.
The people in Snow Crest come from many places, and most that currently work there were not born in the area. Indeed, even a few people from Ayero have come to live here for some reason or another, either drawn here by the prospect of having a friendly lord to work for, or simply for work. Cyrus doesn't ask many questions to allow you to live in the town. As long as you're willing to work and earn your keep, he doesn't care about your past - chances are, he already had someone look into that.
The forest is located along the main road to the Capital, Maccus, and the city is just half a days travel by foot off the main road if one is lucky. Three or four, if snowstorms have been plaguing the area.
~Ice Shade Forest~
Ice Shade Forest, much like Snow Crest is a place covered in snow almost year-round. Its an....odd, place to be sure. The most often seen pokemon here are Ghost types. Gastly, Phantump, Gourgeist, Pumpkaboo, and more rarely, a froslass. Other types include, Snover and Abomasnow, Beartic and Cubchoo, and wild Sneasel. There have been sightings of wild Absol as well, but they have never been confirmed. One can sometimes find Delibird in the forest, scurrying from place to place as they migrate between the frozen pools someone can find in the forest. Often times, they mischievously leave a present for travelers and hunters that could either help, or hinder them.
The trees in the forest are tall, blotting out any light that would reach the ground giving the forest a dark appearance all year. The only path through the forest, which is kept clear of snow by guards from Snow Crest, is narrow and sometimes muddy if snow has just freshly fallen. Guards patrol the areas closer to the town and castle, meaning until someone gets close enough to the patrols, people are travelling on their own. The guards have posted caution signs and guide posts along the road, stating that if snow has covered the path, it is best to stay put until it becomes visible again, or else you could end up hopelessly lost and that if you must, then carefully follow the old, worn guide posts.
The forest is quite large, and takes up most of the mountain that Snow Crest has been built on. Most of the trees stay a dark green color all year round. Most of the ground is made of hard, frozen, earth, with the occasional frozen glade or clearing with a frozen pool of water where Delibird play and live, or where a Phantump or Treavanant has made their home.
~Snow Crest Manor~
The Place Cyrus calls home. It is a short walk from the village, depending on the weather. The outward appearance does little for the lavishness of the interior would suggest, but that's simply because the outside was built with defense and utility in mind to ward off intruders and make would be assassins think twice about tackling the fortress-like abode. Many pokemon call the place home as well, given a home by Cyrus as long as they serve some function. They can be found mostly in the kitchens or gardens, but some tend to the fires within the castle. The walls of the Castle are high, and the northern wall was build on a sheer cliff that would make even flying pokemon have difficulty reaching the height. The manor was built in the shape of the square, with the southern wall facing the town, but with the eastern wall having the entrance to the city. The western wall, was built into the mountain. It is suggested that there is a secret passage somewhere along the wall that leads into the mountain the castle was built on, in case there is need of a quick escape for some reason. If this is true or not, only Cyrus knows.
The first thing someone would see upon entering the walled castle, is the incredibly lavish courtyard. The large outdoor garden is kept well tended to, even in the harshest of snowstorms thanks to the Florges and other pokemon tending to it 24/7. On some days, a band can be heard playing music, usually a violin, cello, or other classical instrument. Other days, someone can find Lord Cyrus painting on the balcony over looking the courtyard. The floor of the courtyard is naturally cared for grass, creating a lush carpet that is rarely seen anywhere else in Lugere. A stone walkway extends from the gates to the front door of the castle. The courtyard has tables, seats, and other places where nobles and other visitors can take a rest and be tended to by the servants.
The interior of the building is richly decorated, as one would expect. The stone floors are covered in blue carpet, lord Cyrus's favorite color. Various paintings line the hallways, some painted by him, others by other famous artists. The dining room where he holds feasts for other nobles should they come to visit, has a long dining table (Though the seats are rarely ever full), and is decorated with large windows to allow natural lighting within the room. Fires always burn brightly in the castle to keep the place warm, even in the dead of winter so that even the odd guest from Ayero wouldn't freeze. The wall mounted braziers are tended to by a Chandelure and Lampent. Guests are warned not to wander the castle too much at night. The Chandelure and Lampent tend to wander at those hours, and while they are familiar with most people who work at the castle, intruders and guests tend to...attract a bit too much attention. They wander the halls, helping the guards keep the manor safe at night.
