His beginnings didn't need to occur after a tragedy, the young man just always wanted to do good and protect those who couldn't protect themselves. In 2012 Titan formed the hero team called the 'Super 7' by the press, however after the death of a friend/teammate in 2013 after a conflict with the Midnight Man, Titan began to grow tired of playing costumed adventurer. After a year of being lazy Sam got off his ass in 2014 and began to recondition himself into the hero he once was. From Japan, they brought with them a sword passed down in the family for generations. The sword, called Ryuuken, was the blade wielded by Ryuunosuke Yoshida, a samurai of the early 12th century and ancestor of the Yoshida's. They settled in New York, eventually having a son named Katsuo. When he grew up, Katsuo left New York for Millennium City, where he eventually married Chad's mother, Ellen Eriksen. When he was born, Katsuo honored Ellen's request to name their son after her late father, Major Chad Eriksen, a US Army Officer who was killed in action during the war, specifically the Invasion of Normandy. Having grown up in Millennium City, Chad grew to know the streets and districts like the back of his hand. He also grew up pretty well off, his father having started a successful business empire known as YoshidaCorp, which specialized in medical research in response to the rise of people with superhuman abilities. Katsuo had made it his passion to study these individuals and use that knowledge to push the boundaries of medical science. Chad had been pressured into following his father's footsteps, but found himself more interested in his ancestral history, spending many weekends and summer vacations in New York where his grandparents told him many stories of Ryuunosuke Yoshida, and even teaching him the same martial arts styles Ryuunosuke had been famous for. When they passed away, the Ryuuken was left to Chad, whom they described as "a more suitable holder for the sword". Chad's father grew mysteriously more distant after this, though Chad never could figure out why. He soon got his answers. One night while handling the Ryuuken, the sword to glow with an eerie light. Chad then heard a voice in his mind, "You who wield the Ryuuken, do you accept its power?" the voice seemed to emanate from the blade itself. Bewildered, Chad said the first thing that popped into his head, "Yes..." he responded, and with that the blade flashed a brilliant light, and Chad suddenly found himself wearing the armor of a samurai. Once this happened, the voice from the sword became more clear. It was Ryuunosuke, or rather his spirit, that he said had been sealed into the sword long ago. He explained to Chad that he once wielded his sword in the name of justice, and that he believed Chad to be a worthy successor to his power. Chad also realized that this must have been the cause of his father's change. Katsuo must have known about the sword's power and wanted it himself, only for Chad to get it instead. Chad took up the sword, and has since used it to fight crime and evil as a masked warrior called Ronin. **Notes:** Chad is a decent fighter, but is by no means a master. If the situation is bad enough, Ryuunosuke's spirit can temporarily take control of Chad's body to fight in his place, though this apparently is a costly maneuver, as the sword becomes temporarily depowered after the act is finished and mush recharge before the armor can be donned again. **Commitment:** I'm willing to post as often as needed to keep the RP going.

Name - Bert Hughes Alias - Quicksilver Powers - Mercury Mimicry (can become like liquid mercury, can hit with force, can expel bullets and things made of iron) Weakness - Very heavy/dense and sinks in water, prolonged exposure can poison people. Experience - Doesn't have much experience apart from stopping some environmentally unfriendly corporations. Appearance -  When not on patrol, Bert has a shaved and shined head and no facial hair. He has an emaciated look, with good musculature under skin that ends up resembling sweaters in a vacuum bag. When he goes out to fight crime or perform espionage, Quicksilver wears a set of resistant black pants and a pair of black steel toed boots. He wears a black glove on his left hand, which helps keep the weighted punching hand intact when hitting something or someone hard. On his torso, he creates the alchemical symbol for mercury on his chest like an emblem with his mimicry powers so that it stands out in dark silver. Similarly he manipulates mercury to cover his lower face with something that resembles a mask of silver mercury and manipulates his eyes in the same way. Age - 25 Brief Bio - Bert was raised and lived in a landlocked city surrounded by fields upon fields of crops. He worked at a law firm that specialized in environmental issues, and when a food corporation known for its use of GMOs set up shop at a local farm, he went out to snap some photos and see if anything was being done illegally. He was horrified to learn that they were using a good portion of their land as a landfill and a facility. In the pursuit of truth and justice, he slipped into the underground facility to find a complex in which there were a large number of seemingly different experiments being performed. When an alarm went off, he quickly darted into a room to hide, but ended up exposed to a variety of chemicals and energies in an experiment room, which lead to his powers. After draining through a floor grate, he reintegrated and woke up outside and naked -- and confused -- but soon learned the extent of his abilities and used to it pursue a combination of revenge and environmental justice. He came to Millennium City after hearing that the same corporation who was operating in his home city opened an office there.

Name: Natalie Addison Alias: Penumbra Powers: Umbrakinesis, the ability to manipulate shadows and darkness. The capabilities of this power are as follows: - Natalie can hide in other people's shadows or large shaded areas, make her body intangible and absorbing herself into them. - Natalie can shape shadows, changing their forms to whatever she desires. - Natalie has superb night vision, allowing her to see in near-complete darkness. - While in an intangible state, Natalie can also phase through solid objects. - Can heal any physical wounds she has by spending time in dark areas. In addition, Natalie can also levitate at very low heights. Weakness: Sunlight, or any other light source, can be particularly harmful to Natalie, making her feel weak or drowsy in small dosages and making her physical form less solid. If there is too much light, it can make her very weak, and it is theorized that it may kill her, causing her body to disintegrate and never reform. Experience: Natalie has had no experience in fighting whatsoever, and has only recently gotten a handle on her powers during her first year in the modern world. Appearance: The best way to describe Natalie's appearance is that she appears to be a three-dimensional silhouette of a woman. Her entire body, skin and hair, are all pitch black, making most details of her appearance difficult to describe. The only real notable thing is that her hair seems to be just past shoulder length, her eyes which glow a distinctive white, and several white glowing markings, tattoos of a sort, on her arms and legs. At night, her body is solid, but during the day, her form is more ghostly, almost smoke-like. Her eyes and tattoos cannot be seen during the day, and her body is less solid, making it difficult for her to touch people or pick up objects. Age: Unknown. Her body hasn't really matured all that much since age 14, when she supposedly "died". However, if her story is correct, that makes her over 80 years old. Brief Bio: If one were to ask Natalie about who she is, where she comes from or, more pointedly, WHAT she is, expect a complicated answer as Natalie's memories of her past are somewhat skewed and even the few bits she CAN remember are difficult to swallow. She claims to have been human at one point, living in the England in the 30s. At a young age, she kept seeing things that no one believed, like her shadow moving all by itself, areas suddenly getting very dark at strange times, and, even more worryingly, she would feel drowsy or lightheaded when in bright sunlight. For a while, her parents simply thought she was pretending. Then, one day, when Natalie was age 12, she went mysteriously missing for three days, and when she returned, she claimed to have no memory about what had happened or where she had been. After that, Natalie started having nightmares. Her family would be woken up each night to her screaming, would run to her room to wake her up, and would find her lying somewhere different from where she had previously slept and find she was unable to remember what her dream had been about. When Natalie was aged 14, Natalie's parents admitted their daughter to a mental institution. Natalie is unable to recall anything clearly after that point, only mentioning that she felt "a lot of pain, then nothingness". Skip to present day, Natalie wakes up to find herself lying on the streets of modern day Millenium City with no idea where she is or how she got there, and now transformed into her current shadow-y form. For the first few weeks, she lived on the streets, befriending several of the homeless who were able to tell her about the modern world. After discovering and mastering her strange new abilities, Natalie has come to the conclusion that she died at some point during her treatment and that she has come back as some sort of ghost or wraith, possibly to try and resolve some "unfinished business", though she has no clue what that may be. For now, she has a tendency to stay at random peoples' homes, "haunting" the house for a while until the residents start to become suspicious and then moving onto the next place. Notes: - Due to her experiences, Natalie has a deep fear of hospitals. - Despite everything that has happened her, Natalie is a fairly upbeat and cheerful individual, albeit somewhat wistful of her loss of humanity. Still, she can't help but feel grateful for her powers. Commitment: I can certainly at least make the 2 post per-week, if not more. If the story was progressing at a reasonable pace, I'd definitely be able to make one post per-day if I needed to.

Name - Grant Smith Alias - Indigo Powers - Advanced combat training. Indigo has been militarily indoctrinated since his birth, and is completely loyal to the US Government. His costume has been made with the explicit purpose of maximum protection for minimal cost- It's comprised of kevlar, giving him a good amount of protection and a very slim profile on the battlefield. His gloves and boots are the only metal part of his suit, giving him maximum punching and kicking power. His cape is fire-proof, as well. Due to his augmentations, Indigo has a maximum lifting strength of 1 metric ton with some difficulty(theoretical absolute maximum of 1.5 to 2 metric tons, though untested due to potential danger to subject), a maximum speed of twenty five miles per hour(subject once achieved thirty MPH, but his Achilles tendon snapped in the process)., and improved reaction time. He carries twin pistols, an assault rifle, anti-material rifle, six grenades(two smoke, two frag two flashbang), lockpicks, tazer, a small amount of shaped explosive charges(ranging from the ability to blast through a doorknob to blast open a man-sized hole in a wall). Weakness - Human things. Bullets, physical damage, etc. Minimal resistance to psychics due to severe trauma at the death of his team. Experience - Training since birth. Field experience two years. Project Color's origins trace back to the HERO/HUNTER program by the PMC C-Tech. C-Tech conscripted two children and forced them into training, producing the super-soldiers Blue and Red. The company was shut down, but if gave the government their own idea- What if they made their own supersoldiers? Blue and Red were signed on as trainers after a short service records of two years in their respective fields. Blue would train a division specializing in urban warfare and civilian protection, where Red would train a unit of soldiers for secret deployment in the war front, though, both units would often train in tandem. Project Color began the same as HERO/HUNTER, searching for specific genetic markers in a set of adults. But it was different, this time. Instead of abducting children, the government subliminally influenced them to donate to sperm and egg banks. Their genetics were taken and this time, twelve children were made. Six to Blue team, six to Red team. The children were given first names at random, and nondescript last names. For example, Grant Smith. Their code names were varying shades of color- for example, Indigo, Maroon, etc. Teams Blue and red were trained, meals laced with chemicals, like in HERO/HUNTER. However, this time, due to different budgets and superior access to technology, rather than being given power armor, at age twelve, the children underwent augmentation process to make them faster, stronger, and better than the average human, no armor needed. Their training was similar, if a deal more rigorous, to HERO/HUNTER. Units have also undergone accurate battlefield simulations, with a nigh perfect service record. At age eighteen, team Red was sent to war, and team Blue was deployed to hunt for evil superhumans. After several successful kills, the team encountered a superhuman that was ready for them- The warehouse was rigged to blow, the bomb was specially created to be undetectable to their equipment. All of Team Blue was killed, except for Grant, Indigo. The Government reassessed their situation, and after a few months, discontinued Project Color, no more future generations would be trained. Research efforts were instead put into the possibility of artificial superhuman powers. However Team Red still operates in the field, and Indigo continues hero work in Millennium City. His telepathy on the other hand is completely mental performance, one that requires a constant level of concentration to keep it in check while conscious. Either of his abilities can tire him out and once he has expended his energy he is nothing more than a simple person and could be killed in a variety of ways. From an early age he learned two things about himself that set im apart from most people in the world. The first, something he has shared with only a select few people in his life to date, was that he had a genius level intellect. The second that he shared with no one was that he could hear voices in his head. As a child he didn't understand where the voices were coming from, but quickly learned that he could somehow hear people's thoughts. It drove him crazy at first constantly having voices besides his own in his head, and after some time he was able to learn how to control it and block the voices. The two together gave Alexander a bit of a social complex where he preferred to be alone which didn't help make friends for much of his young life. He eventually was able to overcome his fear that he would always be alone and began to branch out and begin making friends in high school before leaving for college. It was his time at college that he began to let his intelligence shine through and was able to make some friends with similar intellects, although still hiding his capabilities from even them. Throughout his college career he excelled in all areas of his study and his 4.0 GPA never dropped a point, all the while he continued making more friends. Once his time at college came to an end he dropped off the grid and vanished from the public eye. He published the work he was doing under a pseudonym as he moved across the country doing various jobs in whatever city he would find himself. Until the villain Tox unleashed his attack on Millennium City. Once he had learned of the attack he focused all his efforts to trying to save the people infected with the mutagen from Tox's DNA. He quickly made his way to Millennium City and set up a lab in an abandoned warehouse he purchased under another pseudonym, and with some luck he was able to gather some of the mutagen to begin his work trying to create a cure. An unprecedented accident however caught him by surprise one day when an up and coming villain burst into the warehouse trying to escape from the hero Titan. With the protective gear that Alex was wearing his identity was protected from the two but the ensuing battle between the two destroyed much of the lab and in the process several different strains of the cure that Alex had been working on had somehow fused and ended up coming in contact with Alex himself. Alex took his chance when he saw it and escaped from the now burning warehouse and returned to his home in the city. It wasn't until several days later that he came down with an unknown sickness that put him into a coma for nearly a month. Since he has awoken from the coma he has taken up a job with a local lab working on various projects. In his spare time he has spent his time developing his newfound power of telekinesis, something he can only assume was from the mixture of chemicals that he came into contact with, and creating the alias of Hazard. Notes - His alias he took from the headline from the next days paper after the warehouse battle between Titan and the villain. 'Hazard Averted!' had been what was printed in large letters on the first page above a picture of the burning warehouse in the background with Titan handing the villain over to the authorities. It seemed odd to Alex that the work hazard had been used, and not crisis, but he took the word and began to use it as his own name. Holy Grounds [can't walk into a church w/o bursting into flames] Appearance -  Brief Bio - When Justine was only sixteen years old, she accidentally killed her first love in a steamy makeout session. After being assured it she was just in deep mourning and that the coroner had ruled it as a heart attack, Justine thought things would go back to normal but she kept noticing disturbing differences in her skin and having dreams she was turning into a monster. The following month when her family tried to take her along to church for the weekly scripture, it felt like someone had lit her on fire as pain erupted through her body. Her wings erupted from her body and she flew straight through a window and as far from her hometown as possible. Since then she has been bouncing around from town to town (since she tends to make enemies when she's craving "food") until she finally settled in Millennium City, putting her curse to good use whenever possible and working as a bartender.
