> Felice was still kind of scared though...and hearing the uncertain, and even a little shaky tones of some of the others voice didn't do much to really improve that feeling. But Felice still walked up to the front of the group, and summoned her weapon, saying. "I guess I'll lead the way then...Being the navigator and all with my powers. I'll make sure to be on guard for anything trying to get close...or for the Warlock." Felice told them. Then she took a breath and took a step towards where she thought she was starting to pick up the Warlock's aura.
You detected a massive magical signature in the direction of the grey wall, or more specifically, under it. You quickly shared your findings with the others.
"That's gotta be where the Warlock's hiding," Dora pondered.
> "We.. uh we should keep moving, walk and talk. Standing in one place for too long might not be the best idea, heh sure you can fill us in on what to expect right Dora?" Goddamn why was her voice shaking so much, Ancia inhaled again trying to keep her nerves steady.
"It may be hard to understand, but I'll try to explain what I can. Let's head there for now."
> "When you say familiar," Markus asked, "Do you mean to say that the creatures here are extensions of the Warlock's mind?"
Dora responded as you were crossing the omenous desert: "I haven't studied them exactly, but from my experience I can pretty much confirm it. They always seem to reflect the world and its master in some way, being its attendants and guardians. If you expect to simply waltz through this world unharmed, you would be dead wrong.
> He glanced around for a moment, then looked to Dora, "What kind of creatures inhabit this place? Is there any way you can show me, or describe it well enough for me to make us look like that?" His intention was simply to have the element of surprise to their attack by using his illusions. He also thought that Felice would be able to help them avoid anything getting too close, as well as find their way to the warlock with little to no issue.
"To be honest, I don't know. It is always different for each Lair what the world looks like or what kind of Familiars prowl there. We just have to hope for the best in that regard."
However, suddenly her eyes grew sharp, and yellow ribbons burst from her hands like fireworks, taking on the form of sleek crossbows.
You now saw in the distance strange monsters that resembled the scorpions of the human world in body shape, but with an abnormal appearance: their exteriors were composed of riot shields of various sizes, they had a pair of flash-lights on the fronts of their low torsos, their pincers were made of a mass of combat knifes, and their tails ended with the blade of a long-sword. Between the cracks of their bodies you could see their innards consisted of guns and rifles of different types.
They were as large as a motorcycle, and seemed to originate from the grey wall, which you now realized seemed to be circling something.
However, it didn't take long for them to notice you, and about twenty of them were coming closer, their legs made of bladed implements skittering them closer to your position with an unnaturally swift pace.
"Everyone, get ready."
Mimi had her crossbows at the ready while Tomoyo transformed. "These guys are packing heat."
