What would a Cultivator Liason do exactly? Liase with the Magnificent one?

> What would a Cultivator Liason do exactly? Liase with the Magnificent one? You are the religious leader I'll assume. That means you basically have power over everyone from what seems to be written

Having a religious order tend the crops is a neat idea. However in a siege situation (were food is in short supply), it would put them in a position of inordinate power.

> What would a Cultivator Liason do exactly? Liase with the Magnificent one? As Liaison, your job will be to interact with the Mage Guild, Day and Night Master and Captain of Guard. Your real role would become more evident when I reveal confidential information and the story progresses. However if you want to play as Mage Liasion, you can do that as well because my Mage has gone missing... :( As Mage you'll have a lot more action and participate more actively in the cities defense. As Cultivator, you'll adopt a more plotting and passive role.

I'd probably take the Mage Liason in that case.

All very true but the rouges can steal the food if we really felt like it. Me and Darc's characters might be the scum of the city so to speak but if we REALLY wanted to commit to it, we could hold the city by the throat.

> What does the Mage Liason do? As Mage Liason you will coordinate the cities magical defense. The Inner circle will hand down instructions but you will carry them out at your discretion or not at all if you wish. Your job is to nuetralise the Necromancers when they attack the city. You will also have 3 cadres of Mages at your disposal to assist you. Any one in the city needs magic done: They come to you for the job. It is your choice whether to authorize it or not. The Inner Circle will almost never leave the Wizard Tower. So you will act as their voice act as their hand. To the residents of the city: You are the Mage Guild. However inside the guild, it's another matter entirely...

As Captain of the Guard I get more power as defence becomes more crucial, however you can easily usurp it by having food. Day master's power becomes less though, because who wants money when it can't buy you food? As Captain of the Guard I can buy favours off of the Cultivator Liason by protecting food. Same for mages

From inside the city and the attacking force there is always bound to be food ripe for the taking but that isn't necessarily my department with theft. Con men can do some but all the thieves are on the day shift. It's as Bronn says in Game of Thrones thieves love a siege. Money, money, money.. Cause no offense intedend men can become preoccupied by a beautiful woman which would by us the time and means to get the food. Regardless though, everyone is on a double edged sword. The only one not affected to much by the is the Merc captain as he could very well pull a trick and just let them pour in the city. To me I think honestly that where the power resides.

Also, I don't really need a cultivator liaison for the story to work. So the moment you guys have finalized your CS's we can start. :)

Name: [Thales ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhahoeHcvm0)Persimmon Sex: Female Age: 28 Role: Mage Liason ![enter image description here](http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/aa365/Catharyn_F_Harrison/Character%20Pictures/Yvonne3_zps3feff21f.jpg "enter image title here") Personality: Thales, to most people, wouldn't be considered a 'nice' person. Compassion and kindness seldom break through the ambition and careerism Thales has made the foundation of her life. Her work always seems to come first and although she is a brilliant manager and strategist, her people skills could leave something to be desired. She'd good at reading people's strengths and weaknesses and will not fail to put them to use where they are most needed. Thales tends to snap and use biting wit as the go to reaction when faced with personal questions, usually distancing herself from people who she considers inconsequential to her income. History: Born to very humble parents, Thales grew up being told to keep her head 'beneath the parapet' so as to not draw attention to herself. It was at age twenty, when first her father died when their house caught fire and her mother went mad with grief, that she realized that she couldn't afford to do that. Nobody would remember her parents because they lived such unremarkable lives; to her it seemed pointless even being alive if nobody would remember her when she was gone. Over the next few years she completely changed her mindset to one of success and authority. She would become someone who'd be recounted in tales through the millennium. She honed the modest magical power that her bloodline possessed into something fearsome and passionate. Thales served in a variety of roles, from battlemage to courier but moved to Antioch in the wake of a series of military defeats at the hands of the Nazarene. Seeing the opportunity, Thales fucked and then murdered the Mage Liason to the city before taking his place. The cadres were slow to trust her but gradually warmed to the calm confidence and brilliant leadership she seemed to exude. One of her first tasks was overhauling the frankly archaic hierarchy the Order followed. Building a higher chain of command created more promotion and also made her more powerful still. The adepts in the order loved her for it and it was them who would be on her side in the event of a coup. Likewise, Thales maintains passable working relationships with the other Liaisons. While a driven individual, she isn't below exchanging favors if she's guaranteed a decent return on her investments. She has the kind of magnetic personality which will curry favor from weak minded people as well as make it easy to form alliances. Weapon of choice: A thin, short scimitar and an explosive mastery of magic. For no real reason she specializes in water related spells. To aid her Thales insists on jars of fresh water be kept at regular intervals on the city walls and in her private quarters. She even goes so far as to have a small purse of water on her person at all times to use if necessary. Having said this, she hasn't neglected other schools of magic such as fire and earth but her expertise lie firmly in the elements.

I like the idea of a cold hearted and pragmatic mage. But could you put in a para or two more on your relation and attitude to the other powers in the city. Also talk a little more about your magic. Is it elemental? Purely destructive? Is there any type of magic you cant manage or aren't too good with? That sort of thing. Otherwise it's quite nice.:)
