Josh noticed something out of the corner of his eye. A little trick you gain with super reflexes, you tend to spot the slightest movement. He studied the couch. That's where it came from. He walked over to it and started lifting pillows from it.
"What are you doing?" Jayke asked
"I- I swear I saw something" Josh replied. He knew he did. He looked around the couch before getting on his knees to look under it. He smiled at what he discovered. "Its a cat. Must have gotten in here when one of us came in"

A super hero team, that was new. Meta was not really into this kind of thing, it sounded like an invitation to work, but that was what this job was all about, helping people who were supposed to be weak. Unfortunately when he sighed up for the job, there was no "Super hero Team", stated on the contract. He would just have to see what they had to offer him, it would be polite to at least go, even if he was most likely gonna raid there buffet table.

Meta walked over to the large building in which the invitation had addressed. "What a place for super heroes to congregate", mumbled to himself. Meta opened to doors and walked along the black stairs, he could hear voices as he made his way along. By the time he reach the bottom, he was already sleepy, but all thoughts of sleep was erased from his mind when he saw what some the "Heroes" were wearing. He did not realize that this was a costume party, all he wore was a black hoodie, blue jeans and pair of black All-Stars. Meta slowly walked into the room, with a pained expression on his face, still wondering about the participants attire.

Watching as someone made his way over, Ruby panics and struggles to move away from the hand reaching for her. As her last resort from squirming, she lashed out, hissing, her claws reaching for the person's hand, she didn't bother to see if she managed to contact the person, she squirmed again, getting out from under the couch and darting for the stairs. He tried to grab me. Probably to cat-nap me to make me work for this weird hero group. Nuh uh. No way. She thought.

"Silence!" a voice yells from near the back stairs, near the hallways leading into the room where all of the heroes had come from. A young woman with blond hair descends onto the floor, looking around at everyone. Her icy blue eyes scan the room, making sure most of them were here. A muscle jumps in her jaw when she realizes there are a few who had yet to show up, but she would go with what she had at the moment. She pauses in front of all of the heroes. "I assume you may all be wondering why you are here," she says. "I will tell you why. Villains roam these streets, terrorizing innocent people and killing heroes." Her eyes land on Leonardo at this comment. "I have summoned you all here because we all have the same purpose. We want to rid this city of evil forever."

Josh pulled his hand away before he was hurt and caught the cat before it managed to get up the stairs.
"What are you doing? It's a cat"
Josh knew he was probably right, but after seeing Leo, who knows what could happen? Nah, he was just being paranoid. "Hello," he said in a playful voice, "where's your owner? You got a collar?"

Jayke payed attention to the newcomer. She was the one who had brought everyone here.

Meta stood near the back, tuning in and out of people's conversations, well, that was not very polite, but it was something every one did any way. Unfortunately, Meta was kicked out of his thoughts when he heard the loud voice of a woman in the front of the room. She had said there plan was to rid New York of evil. "Are you sure about that? Won't getting rid of our competition put us out of work. Although there will always be crime, we can never turn this world into a Utopia, even with powers. Won't fighting a losing battle against human inclination be futile? He said out loud, he had meant to say it in his head but it must have come out. He was always told he did not look it, or act it, but he was kinda smart.

James had just walked in when he heard the woman yelling, and mumbled, "Damn, I just got here and there's already someone yelling. She must be the leader of this little group..." He just looked at her, and didn't bother saying anything.

"Jesus Christ lady keep the mintos out of the dietdiet cola, there's no need to be hard like a jawbreaker" Simon said to the woman who had apparently invited them into this little group of superheroes. As he said some of these heroes could be such hard cases, no wonder so many of them had such miserable lives.

John had gotten the invite last week while he was sleeping in a field down in Rhode Island. He had been skeptical at first. Heroes weren't around much anymore. People with powers tended to just keep to themselves. Fight small crime here and there, but no one really wanted the not so glamorous life of a superhero. It wasn't all it was cracked up to be to most. But John had gone to New York anyways. He had wanted to see the city for a while and he figured he could check out the place while he was at it. So, he walked up to the building, messenger bag slung over his shoulder, containing his few clothes. He took a moment, summoning a small, telekinetic field that would protect him from anyone trying to sneak up on him. Then he pushed open the door and followed the sound of voices. "Looks like I'm in the right place," he muttered to himself, catching words like hero and villain in their conversation. He walked into the room with the people, looking around. There were a ton of guys, a turtle, and a blonde woman who was about his age, fixing them all with an icy glare. "So I'm going to assume this is HeroCon? I didn't see a sign, but based on the giant turtle, along with your very moving speech," John said, gesturing to Leo and the woman, "I figured it out on my own."

The woman looks around at them. "Yes, I realize that it would be difficult to get rid of all evil here." She stares the man down. "Evil always stays, which means we will always be here. It becomes born again and it always renewed. No matter what we do, there will always be evil." She gives a soft mysterious smile. "But we can at least slow evil's pace down enough to where we can almost halt it in its tracks. We will not destroy it forever; it will always come back, but what we can do is get rid of as much as we can now and be an emblem for those in the city too afraid to stand up for themselves." She turns to the man who asked if she would lead them. "I will be leading you. If anyone has a problem with that, then you can just leave now. I will also not tolerate any smart ass comments that are made toward me or anyone else in the team." She stares them all down, looking pointedly at the Candy King and John when she says the last sentence. "If you have a problem with anyone on the team, you come to me. If I get a problem with you..." Her voice fades. "Let's just hope I don't get a problem with you."

Leo turns to face this woman. She gives an inspirational speech and once she is done, he immediately thinks of his old sensei. She sounds almost exactly like he did when he was teaching him and his brothers. He smiles once she finishes and crosses his arms across his chest, looking around for anyone else to make a comment.

Umi was leaning against a wall, fiddling with her pendant. She was unhappy, like usual. Afraid, and mad. Umi often helped people, but her true self never leaked out. Sure she was always afraid, but humanity was terrible. They were at fault. And Umi was going to get in close to hurt people.

It was then that Umi felt something brush across her leg. She looked down and saw a stray puppy. Umi instantly crouched down, closed her eyes, and tried to get away from the scary world. Her fear caused Umi's powers to kick in, sending the poor dog running, yelping all the way, as if chased by a creature of nightmare. Umi slowly opened her eyes. She held her pendant close to her chest. It was one of the few things that wasn't scary, it helped Umi calm down. Once, Umi was calmed down she continued to stare off into to space.

John smirked as the woman glared at him and one of the other heroes. "I don't have an issue with anyone here," he said as he gracefully moved to the couch and flopped down, looking straight at the woman. "So do you have a name we can call you? Ice? Ice-e, Iced Tea, perhaps Stone Cold Snow Lady?" John asked jokingly his eyes lit up with mischief. He knew what he was doing. He was pushing them away with sarcasm. He should try introducing himself. Or at least partially introducing himself. "For instance, you can all call me TK. Not my real name, you have to earn that," he said.

A muscle in her jaw jumps. "You may call me Captain and only Captain. Nothing more, nothing less. None of you will know my real name, nor get the chance to know my real name. Now, TK, since you graciously volunteered, we're going to have a show and tell of our powers and you will be going first." She steps back and gestures to center floor for him. She watches him like a hawk and draws out a knife from an arm sheath, twirling it between her fingers.

John smirked. "Alright Captain," he said, stepping forward and facing the others. "As you all know, I'm TK. Feel free to call Swagmaster TK, TK Swag, or the King of Swag. My power is telekinesis, hence the name. My favorite color is red, I like long walks on the beach, and I'm a cuddler. Now if you'd all stand back, I can showcase my power." With that, John shook out his wrist and then slowly raised his and until it was perpendicular to his body. He turned his hand so it was facing upwards and all of a sudden, the pillows and cushions on the couch flew up to the ceiling, pinned their as if by invisible hands. He flicked his wrist about and the pillows began circling the room, picking up speed until he swept his hand across the room, and the pillows and cushions returned to their pot. In reality, he didn't need to use his hand. That was really only for lifting cars or heavy objects. But he'd rather they think he did require his hands so that he didn't end up in a sticky situation if one of them happened to turn traitor.
