The barrage shook his suit and camera, leaving but stormy tails of dust in front of his optics. He was surprised but not by much, he had just barely put his shield between himself and the shots. Though he was being battered, his suit hurt and degraded, Thomas just smirked behind the impervious concentration that zoomed in on the enemy.
"I'm better than you!"
She seemed focused on hurting him and since she had found it smart to continuing firing on him, covering him in debris, Thomas instincts kicked in quickly afterwards. He pulled out his beam saber on the side of his guarding shield, picked himself up into a crouch, and igniting the saber slid out of the way of fire before retreating from the Sandesgeist.
My instincts were yelling for me to get out of dodge. But not from the Sandesgeist, he thought to himself.
