"You obviously do have a superpower. Your power is that every time you open your mouth, everyone in the room gets the powerful urge to throttle you." As I previously noted, violence is the last refuge of the ignorant, though I am disappointed that Miss Martins has resorted to it. I had such high hopes for her.
"I have little fear of that, Cassandra. If I was ever in any real danger I'm sure you would warn me in due course." I give a pointed look at Ditto, putting attention to very the real danger she failed to warn him of, though I begin to feel bad about it almost immediately. I really must stop stooping to her level as it is rather unseemly for one of my stature. It is my own personal vice, I am afraid, that I can let no slight pass unnoticed.
Deduction;Hubris. I am cursed by it.
Fortunately for others to balance my pride I make a point holding no grudges. I nod approvingly at Cassandra's answer to Miss Mountain's query. Maybe there is still some hope for her after all. I sincerely hope so, otherwise my stay with this team will be marked by a distinct lack of intelligent conversation.
I barely respond to Mr Harrison's orders 'to play nice'. By the love of all that is holy, can he not see that I am doing exactly that! I have shown a remarkable reserve while dealing with Cassandra and Armoury! After all, all I did was offer my own, uniquely brilliant assistance. If that's not being nice then I don't know what is. I let him spew his trite phrases with no more than a quirk of an eyebrow though, as he is right in his assessment that we do have more pressing concerns.
Hellfire entered next, taking charge of the situation quickly and leading the team out (A quick check of my watch tells me it has been almost five minutes since I set off the alarm, and only now are we getting ready to leave with only a partial complement of our forces. Truly embarrassing, I'm almost glad Ditto is too incapacitated to witness this abysmal failure) Fenrir ordered me to keep close to Gabe, though whether that was for him to look out for me, or for me to keep an eye on him I am not sure. I suspect its a little bit of both. Never one to disappoint, I follow our resident pyromaniac to the teleporters, pulling my mask and hat into place.
I pass the starstruck Bolt with an irritated sigh. Just what we needed. Another idiot.
Sometime later
Well, this is just delightful! Stuck in the middle of a warzone, locked in battle with a group of insane criminals (And an idiot based on a child's toy) while the local peons gawk on instead of, oh I don't know, running for their lives maybe! Case in point, the group of slackjawed college drop-outs gathered in front of me, filming the fight on their Q-phones, hoping to discover the next viral vid. I must admit, part of me is willing to leave them to the likelihood of their grizzly fate if they stay, though the rest of my team would probably frown on such an action
"Gentlemen, I really do suggest that you depart this place, posthaste!" I advise them. The layabouts either laugh at my accent or declare the Rogues aren't all that scary.
"I didn't think the Phantom Stranger was in Young Justice anyway." States one of the puzzled fools. I don't think he meant it maliciously, but it was the theoretical straw that broke this donkey's back. I shoot forwards, snatching his Q-phone from him. His fellows begin to voice their complaints. Despite their protestations I cast it far away in the opposite direction of the battle. Even I'm impressed at the distance on the throw.
"You can't do that!" shouts one buffoon.
"I think you'll find I just did. Pay attention next time. Now get out of here, and be sure to tell the press that it was the Phantom Stranger who did this to you. P-H-A-N-T-O-M S-T-R-A-N-G-E-R, you lack witted cretins!" I deliver a swift kick to one of the fools behinds as they trot off, still slower than I would like. Ditto has arrived by the time I finished, one of his doubles staring at me, no doubt disapproving my methods. I don't care though, I hardly need to explain myself. Those gentlemen will be able to grace another morning thanks to me.
I continue with the crowd control, leaving the actual 'fighting' to my compatriots, at least until a suitable opening shows itself for me to intercede.
