But guise... What kind of "battle mode" phrases would fit all the characters? For instance: when Hana gets serious, she becomes unsheathed. That kind of thing, to add epicness. I can think of a few for my characters.

Ajax: Time to erupt.
Piper: Time to lock and load.
Stacy: Time to grab a beer.

Jeanne: Silence, as light seems to shimmer and feathers slowly descend from her wings akin to the fiery pretense of autumn into the bitter, chilling freeze of winter. The thin black lines of onyx tears that trace down her ivory-clad cheeks thicken, as if mourning the ill fortuned future that her opponents are soon to face.

I also don't think Hana and Jeanne would ever really spar. Hana isn't the type to fight without reason, even for friendly bouts. If she would spar with anyone, it would be without her weapons. Only real way to get a reaction out of her would be to challenge her to a duel because her honor would be on the line.

Not that it would be that hard to best her at non-combat things though. Haven't had much of a chance to demonstrate it yet, but Hana is rather... talentless...
