The fight scene was blander than anything done after the dance and Blake is still worst girl with no consistent character - she's gone from quiet but sweet to bitter to exhausted emo to literally a cat in human skin.

Definitely a decent watch, though.

I'll admit, there were some bad parts (like every part with a male in it because FFS apparently having badass men who aren't villains is illegal) but Arslan and Reese were fucking bomb. And Blake's character arc is to be expected- she escaped her life of terrorism, got into the most prestigious academy in Vale, then got embroiled in a race argument with her teammate, who is a Schnee, faced her old group of 'misguided' people becoming involved in grand, unadulterated evil, failed to thwart said evil, became obsessed with said evil, then -supposedly- thwarted said evil. She went from being in a relatively great position, to shit, to SHIT, to good. In addition to her getting closer to RWYJNPR, which explains her letting her guard down a bit and showing more of her guilty pleasures, so to speak.

Sorry for the run-on sentence, but a good character (who hasn't been fully developed) shouldn't be consistent, especially when faced with as much turmoil and despair as Blake has.

She should also develop in something beyond timeskips. We didn't see her go full emo after the warehouse, it was told to us because it bothered her for an entire semester of classes.

Which we missed.

Or how she recovered from that haze of depression after fighting off the Grimm invasion, and the subsequent weeks/months of training that led up to the Vytal festival.

Whiiiiich we missed.

You know who's a good example of what you're talking about? God help me for saying this, but Jaune. Jaune, at least, has had every ounce of his development aired out right there on screen, so no matter how obnoxious he is about it, at least he's evolving. Every significant shift in Blake's character was told to us, not shown.

Anyway Neo is best girl and pulls off gothic loli like she was born to do it so I'm glad you at least have good taste in waifu
