I think the Civil War movie is not going to be much like the comic past base concept but for what they have to work with I don't think that's a bad thing. We'll likely see the lower level repercussions of the Civil War in shows like Agents of Shield but fought at the top level of the Avengers I think a smaller cast will make the fact that everyone is turning on each other a lot more emotionally impactful because we can focus on how the war is effecting a limited number of people to a deep degree rather than a large number of people to a shallow degree.

What I really hate about the Marvel movies is how they seem to have an obsession with creating villains that have the same abilities as the heroes. First two iron man movies had evil iron men. Hulk had abomination. Captain America had the Winter Soldier. Ant Man had Yellow Jacket. Really the Thor movies are the only ones that seem to have unique bad guys.

Also kind of annoyed that they skipped first generation Ant Man and Wasp especially because Wasp was one of the driving forces behind the forming of the Avengers and Hank Pym more or less designed the Avengers Mansion with Stark's budget. But then I suppose portraying an abusive husband who proceeds to go mad and turn homicidal in the name of justice as a hero isn't really good for Marvel's image. Still would have made the MCU a bit more real, just like if they'd included Hawkeye's deafness.

The same way the Goblet of Fire movie was bland and average.

You can chalk up some of that to Rowling getting carried away with the book and opening up plotholes in an attempt to make her children's book grow up with her audience, but the movie was very much mediocre as well, despite having Tennant as one of the bad guys.

Because if most actors stepped into the role of Kilgrave, they wouldn't be able to make the character do anything. Not having seen any Doctor Who, I can say that he was really fucking good in the role, but the role's writing itself wasn't great. Same for a lot of characters.

JJ wasn't bad, either. It was still better than the majority of Marvel fare - I'd take it over two Iron Man movies, either Thor, Age of Ultron, the Hulk movie, or Agents of Shield - but it was incredibly mediocre and saved by the fact that Tennant is a good actor and Luke Cage is seriously fucking cool.

I'd say Jessica Jones had slightly more pluses than minuses, and for a marvel property, that's pretty incredible. Krysten Ritter was good not great, and Tennant was by far the best performance they've had as a villainous character.

That being said I liked Colter more than Ritter and was sad as he felt somewhat underused but alas shows about Jones not Cage.

Either way though Defenders will almost certainly be the best Avengers-style Marvel propriety that Marvel makes.

P.S. The shows are always going to be better than the movies, because one is 2 hours and the other is 13.

Tennant was great but let's not get hasty. Fisk was a baller of a performance.

I felt feels, just thought as a villain Tennant did a better job, to each their own and all but I actually found that d'onofrio's performance was either incredible or tiring.
